There's always something going on, from groups of people learning to sail small boats, to regular boaters enjoying the sun, sea plans coming and going, and the usual paddle boarders. The thing I like the most is the convenience for boating. Plenty of room for many boats, but not so large that the waves cause too much boat rocking. Have you tried to just relax on puget sound or lake washington, not happening unless you find specific coves. We'll lake union is like a huge cove of calm water. To make things better, there's random amenities such as restaurants, parks, and gas station / convenient stores. All of which you can dock your boat and enjoy. Also spots to pick friends up. I don't know of many other lakes in the pnw that offer all of this for boaters.

GPS brought me to a neighborhood where there is no entrance to the greenbelt/park. Narrow streets with hills so try following this Yelp's map ;) I parked on the other side and decided to hike up through the narrow trail entrance in the middle of some bushes behind a board with a bit of history of the neighborhood. There are some water storages up the hill. You go around quickly. We crossed the street and went to a beach at the end of two buildings. I don't think dogs can get into the water. And even if they could, there is a lot of algae and driftwood.

When I think of Colman Park, I think of the underpasses…read more I'm a Californian, we don't really do fun underpasses like Seattle does, especially not ones like these which look to be mostly from the 1900s. The honey and I decided on one of our walks to start at the Colman P-Patch Community Gardens (which is easily one of the most gorgeous sounding parks we've been to) and walk down under the these smaller tunnels to Colman Beach. The tunnels at first glance look barely big enough for someone to pass under, and someone larger than 6 feet might struggle, but it's so much fun to walk through the woods from the P-Patch and see that these adorable tunnels lead to a beach. Colman Park is very woodsy, but there are so many paths and levels to it that you could probably explore for an hour and not see everything. All in all beyond Streissguth Gardens, the Colman P-Patch and adjoining Colman Park and Colman Beach would be the absolute must see for free Seattle green spaces in my opinion, and if you're in the area, you should definitely drop by.

The series of bridges which take you to the island make you feel like you are in an adventure movie in a remote location and the walk itself on the island had multiple areas to sit and relax (although some benched are rundown). Most of the trail on the island is covered/shaded and made of mulch (soft to run on). The trail isn't a loop but it's easy to turn around and go back the way you came for some additional distance.

This spot is legit! We came over with a group of friends on a lazy Saturday afternoon. With 8…read moreadults and something like 22 children (not actually but it feels like it!) we found plenty to keep us busy. The place is located near water, I think, and boasts a number of play set, a really cool rope zip line thing, and lots of room to run! We set up camp for a couple hours and everyone had plenty to do and do so taking turns- winning! There was a small field adjacent to the play area where older kids were playing soccer and across the street were a couple restaurants. If we lived nearby, we'd be down here every chance we had, but alas, we shall only come down as often as we visit. If you're nearby - visiting or living, you should check this place out!

It was just available for workers, and a regular guy went into it and started harassing us while my kid was playing in the playground. It didn't feel safe. Anyone can get into. I am glad it is fenced. I told an elderly lady about it and she was nice to me although other people felt used to it :( Be aware of your kids around, please! It also wasn't that pretty on summer with machinery around. But kids lived watching it!! There is always someone by the pool making sure it is clean, and I am thankful for them. We always say hello because they help us. I wish they could help us also reporting previous kind of situations. Courtyards are next to the pool, too. They get busy with pickle boarders fun to watch :) I believe courtyards could get a little revamp. Weird there were various adults, but just 2 toddlers using the wading pool.

I play a lot of pickleball and appreciate that these courts have 8 courts lined for pickleball and…read more8 semi-permanent nets. Nice to have a bathroom in the community center. I usually park in the residential areas around the court. Everyone drives too fast on 130th, lots of loud cars and fire trucks, the area usually reeks of marijuana, and there are definitely a lot of sketchy people around, but it's one of the best courts for pickleball so one just deals with the craziness around.
