Easy 5 stars from me! 3 of us rented the blue tracker for the day and went up to see the horses. Funny enough, the bright blue GEO tracker is a better head turner than any other vehicle on the beach! The top down, music blasting, 4wd beach ride was so much fun! The backseat was actually comfy, I am 6'4" and with the front seat pushed up I was more than comfy. We arrived in town on Saturday and I booked a 4 hr rental on the 4-seater dune-buggy for Tuesday at 1:00 pm. Tony (owner) was an effective communicator - the app worked fine and we meet him 35 minutes out in Duck to grab the buggy and drive up to the 4WD beach another 35 minutes away. The vehicle was a kick to drive. Top speed on the highway is @45 mph (Only a 4-speed) and in the sand we got it up to 35 mph. The 4WD beach is supper long (@23 miles) that you can drive on. We got about 7 miles in and turned around. The entire stretch of the drive found hundreds of parked 4-wheelers with their groups all engaged in various beach activities. Just remember that the speed limit is 15 mph where you can see people (which was most of the time). So build your expectations accordingly - this excursion is not one where you can get the full speed up, but there where stretches where you could throttle up and move around some sand! We needed to go a little further in where the dunes were located that allowed you to drive on them - but were already scheduled for a later event so didn't get that piece of the ride in. There where several wild horses We encountered countered along the way. Tons of friendly people waving at you, because the buggy is cool to look at. Miles of great beaches so bring your swim gear to stop (like we did) and take a dip. The buggy is a lIttle tight on rear leg room, but open and breezy. Remember - no power steering so be ready. Tony will meet you wherever you want with the buggy, but the closer to the end of Corolla the better. It is a hoot, completed a bucket list item for me and my three adult kids and I made another great memory in the Outer Banks- Summer 2020! read more

Tony is an amazing, laid back, brother-from-another-mother kind of dude. Communication was on point from the first conversation, but very chill and no stress. He told us where to go and what there was to do. Very cool driving an old-school manual transmission and definitely turned everyone's heads on the beach drive. What a blast we had renting the rag top. We drove down the beach and hit some trails off the beach! Definitely recommend hitting the trails!!! We saw wild horses got out and enjoyed the beach for a bit. Such a unique extremely fun thing to do! We will be renting again next time we are in town for sure. My group and I rented out the Family Ride. We had an absolute blast! It was great because we could either drive along the beach and it provided a smooth ride, or ride over the dunes if we were looking for some excitement. It was also so convenient since he dropped and picked up the buggy at our house! My only complaint was it was more suited for 4 adults rather than 5; or you could possibly get away with 4 adults and a child, seated comfortably. We drove up to the Corolla Beach and unfortunately the sand was crazy deep so we weren't able to do much exploring there but really had a lot of fun driving throughout the Outer Banks and getting food while we were out too. Definitely scared the Family a bit driving around, and myself a little too, but was definitely an experience we won't forget and hope to do again on another vacation. We rented the family buggy from Tony and had a blast. From the very beginning at the first phone call he put us at ease. You can tell that he will do just about anything to make your day enjoyable. He arrived right on time to drop of the VW Thing and went through the whole thing making sure we were comfortable. He even went on a little test drive with us to make sure we were good. We rode up and down the beach all day, saw dolphins, lots of horses both on the beach and in the side roads, and even a fallout of deer. We were never on a clock, he told us to text him when we were done with it. He picked it right back up from us no need to fill it back up with gas or anything. I have never driven one of Tony's machines. We tried twice and got rained out both times. It is a little tricky some times to follow the rain in OBX. Awesome customer service! We had an ATV booked through the Corolla Jeep Adventure and they cancelled the night before. We sent a text that night and Tony replied back and was able to accommodate us for 7am the next day. He met us nearby, went through everything, gave us recommendations for the day and we had a blast! The whole experience was amazing. Rented the 1970 vw bug . So much fun to drive on the beach, it handles amazing in the sand. Had fun driving it in the back streets of the dunes finding the wild horses of corolla. This trip was so much better than taking the tour with other people.
