I contacted Goodbye Dents to repair the side of a Toyota minivan with deeply scraped paint near the sliding door. Geno requested I send photos, then gave me a fair estimate via text and phone with explanation of options, and his recommendation was actually for the less expensive repair. He was available the next morning, and he was even flexible with my work commitments to arrive early so I could take a meeting. I was extremely impressed with the quality of his work - I am pretty particular, and I honestly could not see a difference between the damaged and undamaged areas after he was done. Geno did come out right quick to fix my bumper and did a ***great*** job. He charged me fairly and stuck to his quote too. Nice. I also had a second job for him and after surveying it a bit that day, said he could do it, quoted me a price and said he would be in touch. ***Awesome! He came back (arrived early) and sure enough, got the second repair completed. Looks great :) My first complaint is that when I asked the cost, he up-charged me $20-40 more than what he quoted me - and didn't get my approval first - which is not a good way of doing great business, I feel. It's not much, but just ask first - simple. The second complaint is he posted a social video of the work he was doing on my car (without my permission) and at one point, (humorously) referred to my car as a "bitch" and then when finished, was happy to go "get the money". Ouch. Call me old school but let's be respectful end-to-end, please. Geno does great work and I was happy to make him coffee both times and keep him hydrated. TL:DR Geno and his helper are incredibly nice, do amazing work, come to your house, and charge you half of what a highly rated body shop will charge you. I highly recommend you get an estimate from another body shop first, so you will realize how much of a deal you're getting when Geno does an amazing job on your car. Five stars doesn't feel like enough for how I feel about the work Geno did. I don't give a lot of reviews, so I understand if my review is given less weight. Ironically, the only time I give reviews is when someone's work is so good, I feel compelled to take the time to share my experience. I had a small dent that spanned the edge of the rear bumper and back quarter panel, and scratches that were into the paint, but not down to the body. I called one highly rated body shop in Walnut Creek on a Friday and asked if the repair could possibly be done by the following Tuesday. The employee laughed (not condescendingly, but a little dismissively) and said it would probably take a week or two, but to bring the car in that day for an estimate. I did, but before I left, I also emailed Geno with a brief description of damage and three pictures. After emailing Geno, I went to the body shop. Their estimate was approximately $2,400 and confirmed it would take a week or two to do the repair. While I was waiting, I got an email from Geno (less than an hour after I emailed him) with a quote of $1,160. He also said he could be out there Tuesday afternoon, which was a perfect time for me. Geno and I arranged on Tuesday morning for him to come by around 2:00. He texted a little before 2:00 to say he was on his way and would be there in eight minutes. He and his helper were super nice. He gave my car a quick inspection and said that the repair would be in line with his estimate and told me the work would take three to four hours. About an hour in, he texted me to say that while he'd hoped he wouldn't have to paint the whole bumper, there were enough blemishes on the rest of the bumper that it would look better if they painted the whole thing. He asked me if I wanted to do it, but it'd probably cost an extra $100. I said that was fine, and they got back to work. They were done in under three hours, the work was exquisite, and Geno ended up only charging me an extra $40 for the job. It's never a great day to pay $1,200 because you made a stupid mistake while backing out of a driveway, but emailing Geno saved me from paying a body shop $2,400 and having to wait an extra week or so to have the work done. read more
