Goodcents, and this location in particular, is my go to sub shop. Its my favorite Italian since starting college in the 90s. Today I wanted to get an early start on Super Bowl Sunday and every page I could find said they were open at 10. Google, Facebook, Yelp and even their individual corporate page agreed that it was 10 instead of 11, but evidently no one told the manager or employees. I rolled up at 10:25 to find a couple employees working but doors locked. 3 other cars arrived and left because they weren't open. When the doors opened at 11, meat and toppings were still being prepped. I nearly walked out, but you know, hunger. My bread was stale, a first for this location. Mr Goodcents...I just saw a commercial of Subway giving churros. Subway cannot do a thing to match your sandwiches. I have a brain injury and my husband works double shifts several times a week. There is nothing better than a sub from you. Subway is a joke. read more

This is our absolute favorite sandwich shop. The bread is delicious and perfect eating tenderness. The choices are numerous and fit anyone's tastes choices. We have never been in the shop as we always have our sandwiches delivered. Delivery is fast and accurate and they always follow our instructions for no contact service. Mr. Goodcents has been my favorite chain sub shop since high school, and man is that a long time. My brother worked at one while I was in high school, so I became used to deliciously meaty sandwich with an abundance of veggies. Years pass, the brand of deli meats changes, and the portion sizes reduce, but I still love Mr. Goodcents. And in Springfield, more often than not, I've had nothing but quick service and delicious food when ordering from this location (not like I have a choice, it's the one within delivery range). But the last time the boyfriend and I ordered from here is what lowered this review from four stars to three. I placed my order online as I always do--I truly love online ordering capabilities; isn't technology GRAND?!--and requested double meat on both italians ordered (the #4 as I so fondly still refer to it to this day) because it's necessary on that sandwich since they don't put as much meat on it as they used to with a single portion. I want the sandwich I remember enjoying time and time again, you dig? In any case, sandwiches arrive quickly and nicely packaged. But something just isn't right. I lift the italian and immediately think, "hey, this is too light for double meat." The 8 inch sandwich had double meat but the 16 inch did not. Even more annoying, it's like they quit dressing the 16 incher half-way through because it was missing at least 3 toppings. Reasons this was annoying: (1) I ordered online to avoid the hassle of dealing with people, (2) I paid for the double meat, (3) this hasn't happened with this location before. (3) concerns me because was it a fluke or is this going to be an ongoing trend with this location. If so, it totally eliminates one of the few online ordering options I'm willing to consider. So, waaaaa. I love Goodcents, and more often than not this one is really good. I'm just sad that the last time wasn't so much. read more

About a while back, I visited this establishment and had a very unpleasant experience. A young man, Tim, I think was completely unprofessional and discourteous. I felt rushed and as though it was an inconvenience that I had come into the shop. I didn't feel welcome or that he cared. Furthermore more, I overheard him badmouthing and purposefully distressing another employee. She was unable to work due to his inappropriate behaviour. When she excused herself it became worse as he laughed and continued to joke about her needing assistance. On top of the lack of customer service, this display of blatant harrassment, especially towards his female colleagues, made me uncomfortable and I will not be returning. read more

Tonight i called this location to check if their breads were vegan, the person answering the phone proceeded to just say "i don't know" refuse to go check the ingredients or ask anyone else who may know. So i called a different location which was very helpful but this location can not deliver to my address. So i proceeded to call my usually location (keep in mind i order goodcents 2-3 times a week and know that they stop delivering around 7-7:30) the same person tells me that they stop delivering at 6 and refuse to take my order. This location is excellent for lunch! Their food is always fresh. Whether you are eating their sandwiches, pizza, pasta, or bread bowls (when they have them) they are consistent. The staff is friendly and efficient in getting through busy lunch orders. The location is clean. Some offerings I reccommend are the chicken lunch meat with buffalo sauce or the Italian sub. read more

I love this sandwich shop. Traditionally I grew up on wheat bread but this is the one restaurant where I can't resist getting the white bread, it is so fresh! Their meats and cheeses are all sliced thin and piled on. Well priced and quick food. I pick this over subway ten times out of ten. read more

Ordered delivery from this place. Sub sandwiches are difficult because by the time they arrive the bread is usually soggy. That was the case here but it was still tasty. The chicken Alfredo on the other hand was delicious! I would order again. read more

The food is always good, but several times my family has had a problem with experiencing severe eye burning while eating inside the restaurant. It came on suddenly, and subsided shortly after we left. It affected 3 out of 5 of our family members and has happened 2 different time. Also, I went in there last week to pick up sandwiches to take home, and felt overwhelmed by a really strong chemical smell. I reported the eye burning experiences to the manager but he didn't seem overly concerned. read more

Have eaten here numerous times and the more I eat here the less meat on my sandwich and I ALWAYS order double meat because they are so skimpy on their meat. After today I will never eat here again. I am tired of paying for over priced deli sandwiches. Well, I guess I should say paying too much for bread and lettuce because that is basically all you get. Servers are not very friendly and you have to continually repeat your order to make sure they get it right and then hope they don't over charge you on your double meat. Have also seen the quality of toppings go down hill as well. Its a sad day when I wished I had just gone to subway. Boy, do I miss the old Sub Shops. read more
