Did a fairly large order to go here. It was out in less than 10 minutes. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Had one gluten free order in the mix so we asked that the mac 'n cheese be removed from the BBQ spud. The cashier checked to make sure that the order was correct before she bagged up our food. I pop in at McAlister's frequently because I'm a fan of their tea, salads and chili. Today I made a mistake there and ruined half of my lunch by ordering the wrong thing. I know I love the tea, salads, chili and broccoli cheddar soup. Out of curiosity I decided to try the Cajun red beans and rice. That was a terrible mistake. The recipe being used at McAlister's on Sunshine needs to be thrown in the trash. If they want to sell a bowl of beans the menu should just say that. Rice and flavor are supposed to be included. You can drink it as unsweet and it's still terrific. We like the turkey and cheddar on croissant but also splurge every now now to get chips and queso as a pre-meal snack. Everyone was super nice. It was my first time trying, and I really enjoyed the food. It came quickly, I ordered to-go but decided to dine in since the atmosphere was so nice. Music wasnt too loud, and the place was really clean. Not sure what's wrong with the weirdo Karen's leaving bad reviews. The staff were waving and saying hello to regulars while cleaning. Ok I hate doing this because I have really enjoyed eating at various McAlister's Deli since first being introduced to the franchise however today's experience warranted this review. Hubby & I came for lunch we arrived after 1pm on a Saturday. It was not overly busy. We ordered a 12 inch French Dip (no cheese no butter.. dairy allergy) with a side potato salad & a Club wrap with a cucumber/tomato salad & 2 large unsweetened iced teas. Total came to $28.71. When our order came out we only received a 6 inch French Dip & when we questioned this the server that's what we ordered. Apparently the front staff today were having a "Bad" day as both female employees we had interaction with were rude & salty in the speech & attitude. Hubby did eventually get the other half of his sandwich so that was good. My wrap was less than desirable, the wrap was completely falling apart before I even had a bite it was tough & not good. The cucumber/tomato salad was missing any dressing (I've ordered it before & it normally has an Italian type dressing) before you ask did I complain no I did not especially after the attitude already experienced with the 2 front employees. Stopped by on Labor Day because for some reason, many of the other places were close, so not our first choice but as it turns out, the best choice. My MIL had a chicken salad with lots of fruits and nuts, she enjoyed it very much. My wife had the roast beef BLT and she was in heaven because the roast beef was rare. I had the New Yorker, packed with lots of pastrami and corned beef. The Mac and cheese side was very bland and plain looking but surprisingly cheesy and tasty. I'm not a fan of having to take my cup up to the register for a refill, why? But the reason this visit was 5 stars was a dude named Jonathan. How someone can be cheerful, friendly, professional and still deliver food to the tables is beyond me. He knew people by name and made everyone feel welcome. I've been to other locations but this one was the first time I've stepped foot into ANY restaurant since the beginning of COVID. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the precautions they have in place. Perhaps it was because we went much later at night (around 8:30-9pm) and it wasn't very busy either. We ordered take out so didn't eat there but they did have tables blocked off so accommodate distancing. The food was standard but we ordered salads so didn't have extraordinary expectations. McAlisters has always been one of my favorite places. I'm vegetarian and always got the veggie Chili. In the last few years it's gotten very watery to the point I refuse to go in my home town. While visiting my father in law, I asked if for this particular meal we could go there. Well apparently the problem isn't just in Memphis area, it's all over. It used to be thick and filling, now it's chili water with just a few beans. The group I was with was literally laughing at how ludicrous it was. I didn't even want it so my husband literally scooped it up and gulped it like a drink which made our party and the table next to us( they must have heard the conversation) bust out laughing. How does it feel McAlisters to have your patrons laughing at you? Honestly unless you do something to improve your quality you will not be around long. read more

I watched my order pushed aside several times from 1215 to 1230 . Went to counter girl was rude about the wait. Finally after over 30 minutes we got my order. Yes, they put the dressing on the side on everything BUT the Caesar salads, which CLEARLY you would know if you ever ordered one. I have since ordered by phone and they NOW serve it on the side for orders to go. We have been going to this particular restaurant for years so are very aware of the norm here. Ordered here for the first time yesterday. Did online order for carry out. Our food was ready when it said it would be. The chicken avocado salad was great besides the dressing being the worst ranch I've had anywhere (tasted like wet flour). Luckily I don't pour dressing on. The chipotle baked potato was delicious but could use more than a drizzle of sauce for such a large spud. My husbands king club was exactly how he likes and so big he couldn't finish it. Mccallisters in Republic the last three times have ruined our meal at night. We use to have get fed deliver and realized we were paying so much compared to other delivery options. They are nice people but it was more beneficial to pick it up. We have gotten meals where we have asked for mayonnaise instead of Honey Mustard. For a tiny cup of soup it's outrageous. So we decided just take the time and make it ourselves. A cold sandwich with a couple of soup and teas shouldn't cost $40 . If I want a $40 meal I will eat at Texas Roadhouse. read more

I am a huge McCalister's fan. I was so sad when the closed the ones in Kansas City. They have the BEST SWEET TEA anywhere. Seriously they do. I also love the Muffuletta Sandwich and the baked potatoes. Their soups are pretty good too. They also have an allergen menu just ask to look at it if you are allergic to something. You go up and order they give you a # and bring the food to you. They come around and give you free refills and top you off on your way out the door. Staff is great super friendly. I prefer this location over other McCalister's locations around the Springfield area, since the wait usually isn't as long and the food is prepared more consistently. A favorite of my friends and I is the tortilla soup and chicken caesar salad wrap. The prices are a little steep, similar to that of a Panera, but the food is worth it to me. The inside/décor is a little cafeteria like, with large, open windows, floor to ceiling mirrors and dusty, fake plants. Try to avoid the noon lunch crowd if you can, as the hospital employees swarm all locations within spitting distance. Check it out if you just want a casual, familiar meal! read more

Disappointed!! Ordered a veggie spud and a salad from the chose two menu. I later checked on the salt content in the food as I was feeling the effects of too much salt. The two items combined contained over 3000mg of salt. Seems ridiculous for a potato, veggies and a salad The daily maximum recommended consumption of salt is 2200mg for an adult. Go to Panera. This place is never satisfying. Ordered some spuds on my last visit via the website. Got to the store and was directed to a weird bookcase where they pile everyone's orders. So I guess just anyone can come up and mess with your food when picking up theirs? Doesn't seem like a set up for a chain quick service restaurant, more like a set up for a hole in the wall mom and pop shop. On top of that, the cashier acted like I was completely stupid for not knowing that I was supposed to go to this bookshelf to pick up my food. So weird and unappealing. I also ordered 2 veggie spuds with different toppings. They did the same exact toppings on both. Guess they couldn't be bothered with putting completely different veggies in completely different spuds. Oh and guess what else? The spuds weren't even good. Dried out and mostly tasteless. Stopped by right at noon for my lunch break. There was a decent line and the dining room was hopping. The line moved quickly and I ordered without issue. I found a seat easily and was pleasantly surprised at how friendly the entire staff was. Everyone had a smile on their face and consistently checked in with each table. My food was served in a timely manner and was fresh and delicious. Even more so, the staff knew a large number of the other customers by name. So SO disappointed in this McAlisters. I USED to come here multiple times a week but on my last visit, after presenting my survey code for $2 off, the cashier told me I had to have the receipt. I didn't have to have it before but she insisted. It's not my job to keep McAlisters paperwork. If I can produce a valid, dated screenshot of a survey code, I expect it be honored.
