We came in on a whim last month to see about getting my sons haircut. My son is 17 with autism and has struggled with alopecia for years resulting in a bald spot in the back of his head. He luckily has thick hair so he's been able to grow it out to hide it but he kinda looked like he had a mop with all that hair and no other stylist could give him a cut we were really happy with. Until we met Joel and he did an AMAZING job! He gave him a fabulous cut with actual style and communicated with myself and my son throughout the process. Preface: This is a super nice barber shop, has a very cool theme and probably has some good barbers in it. This review is based on my experience with one barber, Rick, as a new customer to the shop. Executive summary: A good barber will cut a new clients hair with caution; they will cut a bit and swing you around to the mirror and say "how does this look? Good or do you want to go shorter?" A good barber with integrity in uncharted territory will go slow and meticulously to get you as close to what you want with the hope of your return business and the opportunity I learn what you like. Rick at Goodfellas is not, a good barber. My haircut is nothing like what I asked for nor a likening to the picture I showed him (of me with a proper haircut). My hair looks nothing like what my image/my brand is and I'm going to have to avoid client meetings for a while as a result. Full review: When I called to book an appointment I asked if the barber I was being booked with was good with scissors and was told yes, Rick is good with scissors. Ok cool because I have a 1920's style cut that requires actual scissor work. It is long on the top, combed back, short on the sides- good chance you know what type of haircut I'm talking about just reading this. Showed up and the place looks super legit; I'm a Goodfellas fan (who isn't) and the owner(s) really put some coin into their brand. That's actually what the star is for.. the shop. Rick was running behind, no big deal, that happens a lot at barber shops. Once I was called over, Rick asks me what we're doing. I explained everything thoroughly and showed him a picture of me with a fresh haircut from recent history as a point of reference. I emphasized that the top stays long and is combed back, there needs to be a small amount of hair left on the side under the part and pointed to the picture as I was explaining this. Rick said 'ok, I got it, no problem' and I believed him, why wouldn't I? was genuinely excited to get a haircut and I told Rick that I'm looking for a local barber and I usually get my hair cut every two weeks and one more time, please leave the top long. I think as a result of this I will never let a (new) barber put my back to the mirror ever again. It wasn't until some of the hair he was cutting fell in front of me that I realized he had just destroyed my haircut. There was over an inch of hair, from the top of my head, on my lap. I was literally stunned for a second- then a couple more cuts and he swings me around and says "how does that look". I told him straight up, it was too short. Rick didn't apologize, nor did he even seem to care. So I told him not to worry about it because the last thing I need is for him to make it worse. Turns out, he didn't need my help in that department as right after he put my back to the mirror again he buzz cut the side of my head under the part...cut everything off. This is one of those times where you think to yourself; wow this really sucks but what are my options right now? And right behind that; well, it will grow back at some point. Bottom line; I am blown away with the flagrant disregard this young man exhibited in the service he provided to me. He appears to not know what he's doing and I cannot in good faith recommend him to anyone. Rick literally destroyed my haircut that I have preserved so well for so long by simply not giving a **** about what he's doing and it will likely take upwards of three to four months to recover from the damage. read more

I have come to this shop 3 times now when my normal barber has been out of town and what an amazing shop and experience. My first 2 cuts were by Armando and I was highly satisfied with my cut. He was very courteous and professional. Today I was cut by one of the owners Isaac and I can say it was one of the best cuts I have ever had. Josh has cut my sons hair several times and is always awesome! He makes my 9 year old feel like one of the guys and is patient and able to handle his wiggles at times! To be completely honest I have not made it into his new shop yet but I will be there soon! Whoever left a one star review may have had a bad experience but I cannot imagine its completely accurate. If I had to guess I would say they all had appointments scheduled to arrive soon and weren't willing to risk running late for their appointments, that is the definition of professional! Best shop in town. I drive 30 minutes to get a cut from issac. Dude knows his way around some clippers. All the staff is super dope and super nice when coming in. Some of the barbers do get busy so appointments are the way to go. They do except walk ins but it depends if people are free or not.
