Found Goodform on Lifebooker and decided to book a hair appointment about a week in advance. I didn't actually book on the site, I called and made an appointment, which most salons prefer. They booked me with Natale (who was on Lifebooker) a week in advance. The day before my appointment they called to confirm. The morning OF my appointment I get a call from Natale saying that she didn't know why the salon had booked her such a late appointment and that she couldn't cut my hair because she never stays later than 3pm. I was like...what? I work over 40 hours/week at a day-job and am an actor who gets enough work to push my schedule to about 60 hours/week...needless to say this was going to wreck my life. I shot a pilot this weekend and really wanted my bangs refreshed and an amazing cut for it. Stunned, I called the Salon. The receptionist was very sweet and apologetic (unlike Natale, who was very blase) and made it right by finding another stylist who could take me day-of (and at 6:30, which is later than she'd normally be there.) Rebbecca C. was AMAZING! I am SO glad that thing unfurled the way that they did. If it weren't for the initial mishap I would have given a perfect 5 star review. She gave me literally the best hair cut and blowout I've ever had in my entire life! She was super cool and found the perfect balance of being conversational without making me feel like I had to keep up small talk the whole time. In fact, other than my Mom (whom of course also cuts perfect hair), Daniel is the only person I can even trust with such an endeavor. Not only that, but I get more phone numbers and emails from beautiful girls that I barely even have to feign interest in - all from the Daniel Cosgrove magic handiwork. Let's just say this review is more than a decade overdue. After several attempts of finding a stylist that wouldn't just put awful bleach streaks in my hair, I stopped a woman on the street with the most beautiful natural blonde highlights. She gave me Holly's card and the rest is history. If I could give Holly an infinite amount of stars I would. Holly has done my color and cuts for over 11 years. She truly is an artist and perfectionist. Her color formulations and techniques are phenomenal and cuts are perfection. Not only is her work incredible, she is such a wonderful woman. She is genuine, kind, and fun. I can spend four hours in her chair and still have things to chat about. I moved to Denver a couple years ago, and sadly don't see Holly as much as I would like. These ladies rescued me! I had gotten my hair done two weeks previously by another salon and they had completely destroyed it. My wedding was this Saturday and the girls at the salon worked with me to get the perfect hair I needed for my wedding. The problem with matching your hair color to your dress is it has to be perfect. Leila helped me to obtain the hair color I needed while being the best friend I never knew I needed. -I went to Goodform on Saturday at 4:15 for my appointment with Justin. -This review is for those interested getting a haircut by Justin. -I have very straight thick Korean hair that was medium/long length, I went in to get a shoulder length haircut. -Justin seemed like a nice enough guy but as soon as he sat me down in the chair he tries to sales pitch me. I made the appointment for a haircut only and he asked if I wanted to color my hair. I said no, he then tells me my hair feels very dry and I should get it conditioned even even though just my roots were dry, not my entire hair, and I had told him I wanted to cut that off. -Seriously, I just want my hair cut, I don't want to be sold into getting something I don't want. -So there I am getting my hair conditioned (which I have to pay for). After 30 minutes we can finally cut my hair. I told him I want SHOULDER LENTH. My hair is medium/long. -He chops away my hair to shoulder length. But then decides it will look better short. So then my hair goes from shoulder length to to upper neck lenght. AH, you can understand how upset that makes me. If stylist can't do a haircut length that is requested by a client then they don't know how to cut hair. -He gives my hair a razor cut bob which looks terrible. He got to a point here he was lifting my hair, and cutting it as it fell, he actually jabbed my head with his scissors doing this. And yes, it did hurt. -He spend 1.5 hours cutting the left side of my head and 30 minutes cutting my right. My right side looks like it wasn't even cut. The layers are completely uneven and I have random chunks of hair that are long and short. -On my right side I have layers that are VERY short on top of layers that are very long. It looks like someone chopped off a chunk of my hair, like a 5 year old with a scissors. -He gave me bangs without asking and I didn't want bangs. -Justin is a very UNTALENTED stylist. If you have thick very straight Korean hair I suggest you stay away from Justin at Goodform as he does not care or now how to cut hair evenly and correctly. My hair is a complete mess that is not shoulder length but a short neck length. I will have to get my hair re-cut somewhere else to fix the terrible uneven layering. -When my hair was done tried to sell me some product -Justin told me the way to "style" my new hair cut is "fluff it up, and make a mess out of it". Which is how he choose to style it before I left and it looked like someone just rubbed a cat over my head. That is NOT styling, that is being incredibly lazy. -He didn't show me how he cut the back of my head. Which I can see why. -Even if Goodform offered to fix this for free I wouldn't go back. -And I saved the best part for last, the PRICE: -Justin will charge you: $125.00 for a cut With the conditional and tip it came to $206.00 -Incredibly overpriced and a complete waste of my money and my beautiful long hair. For those with a hair type like mine I highly recommend you do not go to Justin or Goodform Salon. You have been warned. read more

I'll try to make this short. As spending anymore time thinking about this place makes me angry. Bought full highlights package on Lifebooker. Came in, explained what I usually do. I have dark brown hair (mens medium length) and want to subtly (repeated multiple times) lighten my hair. Lorenzo started mixing without me seeing any color samples. So I asked. and he said they don't do that but could show me a photo example. He did. I said ok. Shoot forward to 45 minutes later and I have bleach blonde hair with some dark brown stripes. Trying not to freak out I said it was a little too blond (and the stylist beside me said the same thing with a sad look on his face). He said he'd tone it down. Went through another full color process. It made the blonde a little bit darker but still bleach blond. Also I needed a trim. Literally, a five minute neck trim and they gave me to another stylist who cut off 1/3 of my hair. After saying TRIM and KEEP LENGTH 5-7 times. AND showing pictures. I wasn't rude. Not my style. I typically just never go back. That's assumed. But it was still so bad when I left that I had to go to another salon and dye my hair, twice, to get it down to a not shocking color. Also thus clearing any 'highlights' out. So my 'deal' was $70, and SHOCKINGLY my mens TRIM was $65. Plus 'tip' I'm down $165 for a style I could have done in 10 minutes. THIS WAS BY FAR THE WORST 'HIGHLIGHTS' I've ever had and I've done it myself a few times. I mean I'm not even super picky and open to new styles but OMFG this was horrid. I was debating to shave off all my hair for a few hours... and I hate short hair. I've been growing my hair out for six months. I haven't had a super short style since I was 10! So fixed it down to half way decent for another $150... so over $300 for almost the same thing I had when I walked in... but with more hair and a nicer natural color. I have a nice natural color. That's why I get highlights. I mean I sort of expected them to throw in a trim, especially after the hell my hair had just been through but to charge $65 is ridiculous. The salon I've been going to in Beverly Hills doesn't charge that for a full haircut. I mean the place I usually went to in Manhattan didn't charge that much! (I've had $300 haircuts... and the New York typical $100) Really. Worst experience in a salon ever and that's saying a lot. For experience purely based on the quality of the work. Not factoring in personalities or anything personal what so ever. I'll need a few more weeks to get fully over this and by then, hopefully I'll have completely forgotten about this. WOW PS... no parking except for street so long appointments = multiple feeding meters. Also Yelp is hiding some VERY useful reviews about botched color that seem to have the same experience I had. I had read on a couple of websites that this was a good place to get a cheap haircut in LA. They were completely wrong! My rating has nothing to do with the service (which is prompt) or my cut (pretty much what I wanted). But in what alternative universe is $95 considered a cheap haircut?!? I'm sorry I have to do a negative review, because I honestly thought this salon was great at first . Great location, great amenities, decent staff etc. However I used a Lifebooker coupon for full head highlights as many other reviewers did and I have to advise against this so called deal. I arrived late and they were still very accommodating, which was good . I wanted beachy light subtle highlights and Lorenzo my stylist said he was going to mix the coloring . He did me a favor by doing highlight on my extensions and additional balayage on top, but that is where he first messed up. After my appointment, my good friend who is a professional stylist said he should never have let me highlight the extensions in the first place . I had no idea, and any professional stylist should have known that . So now my extensions are essentially ruined. That's not the worst part - after he highlighted my extensions, he washed my hair and as he dried it, the tips turned a nice blonde but the top of the extensions which had already been slightly different turned a BRIGHT NEON ORANGE. I was freaking out because I had my graduation the next day, so he said he would try to amend it for free (first he tried to charge me an extra $60 for the toner ) and he had to apply the toner on the front strands that were showing through. He washed my hair yet again , and this time around , the toner turned the upper part of my extensions GRAY. I was livid at this point but trying to be polite as possible and he said that you never know with extensions, and that there could be several types of treatments already on the hair that can affect coloring procedures. In that case , he should have told me not to try it at all. Overall, the balayage he did on my real hair looks good . But he clearly has some issues with doing extensions - I would NOT trust Lorenzo to work on extension related hair . The woman at the front desk wasn't very understanding either - she tried to get me to tip him and I said I wasn't happy because my was bright orange and gray. The guy who dyed my hair! (Won't say his name) For you, my parents yelled at me today! ,my brother, cousins and friends couldn't stop laughing! I had asked you to dye my hair to a color similar to dark chocolate, but u dyed it to look more like caramel- white chocolate! Comparing to chocolate because I was sad seeing my hair this color and my friends were eating chocolate! Anyways, let's be serious! I am brown skinned. No offense but i do not prefer light color on my hair. That's why when I picked the color at the salon, I had requested not to make it light at all! I have (had) black hair. I just wanted a dark brown partial highlight so it kind of shines in sunlight. However, light brown was never my plan. (Some of the hair strands even looked yellow blonde) Before I write my miserable experience about this highlight. I have some good comments to make about this salon. The salon is very nice, clean and welcoming. The receptionist was very friendly. The guy who did my hair was very polite and friendly. Before he started doing my hair, he informed me about everything and showed me a couple of magazine pictures referring to the color i wanted. However, they did not have a "shades of color" pallet. Later, he even asked me whether I wanted to do my highlights using aluminum foil or paint using a brush. Since I wanted my highlights to blend in, he suggested painting. I never dyed my hair before; thus, I was impressed at his politeness and service It took him about an hour or so to apply the dye on my hair. After he was done, He asked me to to sit for 15 min while the color sets on. Later, he washed my hair And told me that the color came out a little lighter than what we talked about. When I checked, i realized, it wasn't a little, but way lighter than what we talked about. He used a toner to darken the color but it was still very light. VERY DISAPPOINTING! OKAY, hands down on his blow drying my hair. He did an excellent job blow drying my hair . I have done my hair many places before but the way he blow dried was pretty nice. Anyways, long story short- my hair was too light and and everyone suggested that i darken it down. I had to keep my hair tied all two days before I dyed it back. I had to dye it back to dark brown. I did it at home and still not as dark. However, it's better than before. One star because, if I went and paid for coloring my hair, it needs to turn out the color i wanted or at least close to that. It was a total waste of money and full of hassle for me since I had to dye it back. Even after checking yelp reviews, i dared to give this salon a chance. However. My friend and I came to Goodform for the feather hair extensions. It took us a really long time to find a hair salon that does feathers, and finally we came upon this place. The feather selection was awesome, and we had a really good time too. Our stylist, Chevonne Moore, did a really great job. I also got some great recommendations for hair care products. The feather extensions are guaranteed to stay in for 3 weeks, and mine have been in for a lot longer than that now. I'm really happy with the way they turned out. You can even wash them and blow dry them as normal, although you are not supposed to use a flat iron or curling iron on them. read more

I've been doing balayage for years, & I've never been unhappy, I'm not picky.... but OMG, my hair was horrid!! It turned out blotchy & an orange/brass color. So so embarrassing. I spent all Sunday trying to find a salon to remove it :( I also emailed & called the salon in hopes that they'd correct it ASAP. They did call me back & got me an appointment.. For Thursday!! I tried to hide my hair as much as possible all week & finally got to the salon on Thursday. Then, I saw Rebecca & she totally fixed that mess! I'm very happy with how it turned out :) Long story short, the hairdresser really matters!!! I have a feeling Lorenzo is a newbie & needs a lot more practice with hair. I've got one name for you..... Samantha Cushaway! By far the best damn haircut I've had in 3 yrs, hands down! She's hot, covered in tattoos, and rides motorcycles. Yes please! She's also got magic fingers. I didn't want the shampooing to stop! Ok that's besides the point. I've noticed since my hair is looking so fresh these days, men use it as an excuse to talk to me. That can be a good thing if you're single , ugghh ;) Anyways, I've spent tons of money at these posh joints that just send me home very unhappy and disappointed. My hair is pretty complicated and capable of having 3 different textures in one day! I'm half irish/korean so I've got a mixture of frizzy, slightly wavy/curly with a dash of cooperative, super straight asian locks. Oh and my crown is heavy. I've got TOO MUCH HAIR PERIOD! And did I mention the length? I was almost hitting mermaid status (which ppl seem to like except me) before Samantha saved me from constantly having to pick hair out of my butt crack. Samantha knew exactly what I wanted and delivered with such precision! She hooked me up with the cutest fringy mod bangs that you see in all those high fashion magazines and chopped about 3 inches off the rest. She threw in some subtle layers to compliment my face shape and thinned out the ends to hide my crowns tendencies to poof out like a mushroom cap. All in all, I"m completely satisfied. Oh and whatever products she used, kept my hair soft for 4 days even after jumping in the salty ocean. Even though what I wanted was simple, most stylists somehow manage to eff that up every single time! They over do it or purposely under do it because I don't go with styles "they" think would suit me best. Salon environment is clean, trendy, modern, upscale (but cheaper than these snobby posh joints) and apparently you can catch a glimpse of Kim Kardashian getting her hair done here and there, All the stylists seem really skilled at their speciality and the owner was really friendly and hip which is a good sign. They say "don't judge a book by it's cover" but in the case of beauty and hair, it's the complete opposite. If the staff looks good, they'll most likely make you look good too. I might be severely girl crushin' on Rebecca Contis because she does great work while looking great. I have separation anxiety with my hair, and finding someone who eases my fears is rather difficult. I literally sit in a tense position the whole time and watch the inches come off with dread. I'm an adult who still doesn't know how to properly style my hair or get regular cuts, which results in really long but gnarly hair. My hair is naturally straight and the texture is dry-ish/frizzy-ish for an Asian girl (which according to most people - I should never complain about). Rebecca gave me an amazing cut and blowout, and to boot, she gave me some great hairstyling/blowout tips. The salon is cute, bright, and clean. They give you a robe to change into, and offer a tall glass of ice water (so sweltering that the AC couldn't work). I have had very few haircuts that I would recommend to someone else. She is super lovely and fun and highly creative which is what I look for out of a stylist. This is the place Lana Del Rey gets her hair done, her hair always looks absolutely amazing. I love my long hair, but it was getting boring, just long and nothing else. Kendra gave me an amazing cut that ends right at the collarbone -- it looks like long hair but frames my face so much better.
