I called to make an appointment with Soonie for a cut and blowout. Grace, the manager, made the appointment and informed me that all women's cuts come with a blowout so in the future I could simply request a women's cut. This information was confirmed when I called to reschedule I mentioned I wanted to reschedule my cut and blowout and Grace repeated that a blowout automatically comes with a women's cut. On the day of my appointment I arrived 20 minutes early but Soonie was 20 minutes late. While I waited I saw women leaving the salon with sleek, straight hair and I was excited to begin my appointment. When my appointment started I explained to Soonie how I wanted my hair cut and then asked for her input. I always do this because I value a professional's perspective and even when I don't ask stylists typically offer guidance. When I told her she was the professional and asked for her opinion she replied that I'd had enough haircuts to know what I wanted so she had nothing to add. When she began cutting my hair I told her I wanted a center part. My part was crooked from the wash and my hair hadn't been brushed afterward. She said it didn't matter and left it crooked while cutting. Stylists always ask where I part my hair and use a comb to part it properly but she did not. When she finished the cut she took out a diffuser and began diffusing my curls. I told her I wanted a blowout. She insisted I keep my hair curly and I explained that I specifically booked a blowout with my cut. She then put me under a dryer and told me my hair needed to be 80% dry before a blowout. I told her I wanted sleek, straight hair and she said it would be. After about five minutes she came back and proceeded to fully air dry my curls with a blow dryer before attempting the blowout. She never used a round brush she simply pulled my hair taut. I could see the frizz immediately and she could tell I was upset. At one point she told me she "could feel me sweating." She didn't section my hair and it was going in every direction. I tried helping by holding sections but she said it was okay even though it clearly wasn't. She continued making a bigger mess of my hair as she "worked." I watched women with beautiful, sleek hair walk past me in the mirror while my hair looked like a tangled messy bird's nest. My hair came out frizzy with waves and dents so she took out a flat iron and began flat ironing the frizzy hair and causing constant snagging. I've never had a stylist flat iron my hair after a blowout and I was surprised again. Her unrelenting conversation was about how I must be very good at blowing out my own hair, how I needed a trim every month and a half and then she drifted into awkward stories about when she first started working. All the while my hair looked nothing like a professional blowout certainly nothing like Cristophe of Beverly Hills. It felt more like a child playing hairdressing. I was stunned when she said she was done. I told her I would need to go over my hair at home because this was not how my hair should look. She simply said, "Okay, good." I was shocked she was comfortable letting me leave like that. This wasn't my first haircut or my first blowout. I know how a proper result should look. I even watched her give the woman before me a blowout and she took her time with a round brush and used pins. It says a lot when someone can only blow out straight hair. For Cristophe's reputation this was unacceptable. For someone advertised as a "master stylist," Soonie's work was atrocious. Her work looked like that of a beginner and I felt like she was practicing on me. I was deeply disappointed by her unprofessionalism and her bizarre uncomfortable conversations. She said she likes cutting but doesn't like blow drying. I wish that if she at least liked cutting she would've done an exceptional job there but the cut itself is ridiculously basic and she missed a section leaving the front uneven on one side. I go several months between cuts but not with this one. I need another cut immediately. I'm used to leaving salons with glamorous, bouncy, flowing hair that turns heads. Instead my cut with Soonie is heavy, has no movement and looks like a wig. She knew this would happen and should have said something when I asked for her input and even if I hadn't asked a professional should offer guidance. I cannot believe I specifically asked for her opinion and she refused. When I went to pay I was charged $200. I was stunned she had the audacity to send me out with frizzy, dented hair and waves at the roots and still charge me $200. I told the person at the front desk that I was very upset and she agreed my hair was messy and unkempt. She gave me the names of three other stylists who she said were good at blowouts and added that they were master stylists. I told her that according to the website so is Soonie. read more

JOSIE did such an amazing job!!!! I couldnt stop smiling and feeling so happy throughout the process! Trevor washed my hair so thoroughly, it was hard to fight my sleep during the process..it was relaxing. Let's talk about all the Covid measures that have been taken while I was getting my hair done. I felt extremely safe as there is plexiglass everywhere and 6 feet of distance is being practiced. Everything was clean and sanitized. Scarlett cuts and colors my hair. I refuse to go to anyone else. Unfortunately, it has been almost a year since I've had my hair done due to Covid. She is really sweet and is excellent with the scissors. Scarlett listens to what I want and knows what I need. There is a lot with two hours free parking across the street. i'm someone who always loves to wear long extensions but my natural hair is a lot shorter and a thin. Josie from Cristophe did an amazing job with my hair cut. she did such a natural layered blend on me so you couldn't even tell i had extensions in to begin with. she's very sweet and personable as well, and made me feel super comfortable. you can tell she has so much experience and really mastered her art well. she started my consultation asking me what look i wanted and any concerns i had with my hair, and also giving me tips to make my extensions last longer. she really listened and gave me the look i wanted and i absolutely loved it!! the salon was also very clean and luxurious & they did such a great job washing my hair even with tape in hair extensions in. I was totally apprehensive to book an appt here, bc of the word on the street... but, I was fascinated by Michelle and her artistic work on dark brunette hair. I have been to Lecompte for Chris specifically, who is also great with brunette hair. I wanted something a shade or two lighter, and something I saw Michele has done on a number of clients. Thus, I decided to book the appt with her and give the salon a try. We did a partial balayage and foil, with toner, and ended with a sleek blowout. About 3hours to finish, and when I saw the color, I was at peace. It was exactly the rich, multi-dimensional brunette color I wanted. They use Kerastase products here, and the salon style itself is all-white and ordinary. Nothing luxurious about the salon, per se, but having a master colorist like Michele is perhaps the most luxurious hair gift one could wish for. My downside is an unprofessional vendor running her business out of the salon, beware of Keren Facials! Sadly, I am deducting 2 stars due to her inappropriate, disrespectful behavior towards me at the salon which was not addressed by management. She botched my facial with a peel combined with micro needling and per my dermatologist these services would never be done during the same appointment or without medical oversight. It took months to recover and she grossly overcharged me for her services. I am updating my review, Christophe called me directly, he cares about his salon and his dedicated customers. *Avoid Erick Orellana. Rude and unprofessional* I scheduled an appointment through email with him for Friday the 17th. On Friday November the 19th he sent me a text message asking how I was doing on time. He thought we had booked for that day and when I corrected him and told him my appointment was next month in December he got attitude and said that was not what we agreed on and that if I wanted to rebook I'd have to put down a credit card number in case I canceled. I sent a screen shot of the email chat where we agreed on Friday the 17th. He realized it was a mistake and he apologized and scheduled me for what we had agreed on from the get go. He said if anything came up to notify him with enough time so he can schedule another client. It's 10 days from my appointment, more than a week, and I got notified I have to go out of town for work so I emailed Erick and told him I had to cancel because of work. He sends me a text message and says, "I had a feeling this would happen to be honest. I think it's best if you work with a different colorist." What the heck... I didn't do anything wrong, he just got upset and so rudely discarded a potential client. Thank God I didn't actually meet him because he clearly has a bad attitude and lets his emotions get the better of him. read more

I went to Andi for a haircut and blowout and had a great experience! He took time to understand what I was looking for and was very detail oriented and super professional. My hair is not easy to blow dry because it's thick and curly, but he handled it great and smoothed it all out! I loved how it turned out, I feel like he made sure the cut matches my face shape. Robert Rea was my stylist for color and cut at Cristophe Beverly Hills as of last Saturday. After experiencing sporadic yet consistent unprofessional and offensive behavior from Mr. Rea, I cut ties with him/fired him; I notified him of my decision via text this Tuesday. (It should be noted we were friends before we began a professional relationship.) What transpired after I notified Mr. Rea of my desire to go in a different direction is something no client or human being should ever be subjected to. Up until this point, I was a regular at the salon with visits every three to four weeks for treatments. The following are excerpts from Mr. Rea's texts to me. The texts in full are attached to this review. "My client who witnessed your atrocious behavior immediately diagnosed you as mentally ill. Stew on that for awhile...you have made your dander filled bed, so lie in it." "Maybe this is mean for me to call you out while you're miserable on your period." "Well turns out just one music video a month can replace you and I leave feeling better about myself instead of questioning my path because my most high maintenance client thinks she's a celebrity who should be pampered like the Queen of Sheba." It should be noted I was treated with respect by the rest of the friendly staff at Cristophe - especially the lovely and talented stylists, Matthew and Drew, whom I was friendly with. Who Cristophe and the manager, Jenny, choose to employ and represent the brand is their business. However, I feel obligated to stand up to bullies and misogynists/sexists and warn the public - ESPECIALLY women - of the treatment that potentially awaits them should they decide to use Mr. Rea and/or Cristophe Beverly Hills' services. While this whole experience has been disappointing and upsetting, I do feel I dodged a bullet in cutting ties with Mr. Rea. Who knows what a person so filled with anger is capable of. read more

My daughter was blessed with a head of really thick, full, long hair, but styling it can be difficult for her. She wears it up in a ponytail or bun often to keep it under control because it's always out of control. Josie Russo knew what to do with it immediately!
