Horrible Service!!! We called in advance and when we got there, no one attended to us. Then they sat us down and had us move multiple times, saying sit here, sit there and then when we moved to the chairs they told us to, they moved us again saying they need it for another customer. The service is just horrible. If they are busy, they can simply say so and have us wait which we didn't have a problem with. Why would you make us play musical chairs?? Also, it's not clean!!! They don't clean at all. "Cleaning" is blow drying the hair out of the way. Not sanitary at all. Left without even getting our hair done. My hair has zero volume, it is very flat now too. It used to be thick which volume and I love it that way, I didn't even ask for that but the stylist did it anyways. I'm bald now, so just my friend. They are upset and they feel bald, everywhere we go our foreheads expose. every time I touch my hair I feel the leftover sad strings of hair I have. As someone who dyes their hair 2-3x a year, I've visited many salons all around NYC. I needed a roots touch up and a basic dye to cover my roots and lol a box dye I tried to do. I've been to so many Asian salons and they're all the same, convincing you to do more than what you initially came for but I felt so inclined to leave a review for Good Hands because they never pressured me to do extra things to my hair. I also really like that they are really attentive to the coloring and making sure that the color is staying well. Something you don't see often with Asian salons elsewhere, usually they leave it to their assistant to do everything and don't bother to check in but at Good Hands, the owner and assistant all checked constantly. They also gave me complimentary hair treatment! I will most certainly be returning for my future hair dyes cuts since I just moved to the neighborhood! read more

Had to post this on Yelp too, I left a review on Google. My experience was so bad I really need to let others know. Negative stars. Absolutely abysmal. I gave a call asking for a walk in and they said yes so I went over. They washed my hair immediately and then I waited for about 15 minutes before the person cutting my hair came over. He proceeded to remove me from the clean station I was seated at and put me in a chair where he had just cut someone's hair so their hair was all over the floor. That grossed me out a bit. Don't know the man's name but he had a tattoo spanning his left arm and I would absolutely never recommend him to anyone I know, frankly I won't be recommending this salon as a whole based on this experience. I was getting a women's cut, so I dont know if he cuts men's styles better, but I seriously wish he said he didn't know how to do the style I was asking for instead of fucking it all up. I had hair that touched my lower back and I walked out with shorter hair than I requested. I also asked for a hime cut that was combined with a wolf style. I didn't get either which is actually so incredibly frustrating since I showed the picture to him 3 times. The end result was a mess, he didn't know how to style so I had a massive curl on both sides of my head. It was $45 and I tipped $5 to him and $5 to the person who washed my head. I don't know about the other hairdressers but the one I got was so amazing. He had dyed hair and glasses, incredibly nice and got my hair exactly how I wanted it. I showed him a reference picture, my hair looks exactly like it. Today is my last visit to this business, and I am deeply disappointed and disrespected by the way I was treated. After being a loyal customer for over five years with Chris at his previous location and later at this one--I never imagined I would encounter such poor service and disregard for my time and respect. I had a 1:00 pm appointment today but, due to traffic (I live an hour away), I arrived about 15 minutes late. Despite the long drive, I've always trusted Chris (the owner) for great cuts, so I didn't mind the wait. It's also worth mentioning that in Flushing alone, there are over 100 salons I could have chosen from, yet I stayed loyal to Chris for these many years because of the trust and quality service I thought he provided. However, the way this business is run is not just inefficient--it's disrespectful. When I arrived, I saw Chris was working with two women on their hair dye, and he asked me to wait until they were done. I was perfectly fine with that, understanding that he was in the middle of work. However, 40 minutes later, another customer walked in, and despite me being there before her, she was washed, seated, and attended to first. I was confused and frustrated--this is not how appointments should be handled, especially when I had been waiting far longer. At around 2:15 pm, Chris approached me and suggested I allow someone else to cut my hair because the woman who had arrived 40 minutes after me had a 2:00 pm appointment. I was shocked and insulted. My cut takes at most 20 minutes at most and I had already waited over an hour, and he wanted me to wait even longer while prioritizing someone who came in after me. His reasoning was that I had arrived late, but that's no excuse for disrespecting my appointment time or treating me as though my time didn't matter. Even when I am on time or come in earlier, I still have to wait an hour so what's the difference? I understand I have to wait for the people before me but this wasn't just about timing--it was about treating the first customer with basic respect. This is not the first time I've encountered such poor service. My parents had similar experiences: my father, who had a 12:00 pm appointment, was made to wait over two hours before getting his cut. My mother, who arrived early for her noon appointment, was also made to wait long past her scheduled time. To make matters worse, a staff member called in a friend and prioritized them, cutting their hair ahead of my mother's. This type of preferential treatment, where personal connections take precedence over paying customers, is unprofessional and completely unacceptable. The way this business is run is not just inefficient, it's disrespectful. It's not about the timing or who arrived first--it's about how customers are valued. I drove over an hour and a half to be treated like this, and that's simply wrong. For a business that's supposed to be built on customer service, this experience has shown me that they've lost all sense of professionalism and fairness. After being a loyal customer for over five years, I can no longer support a business that treats me, my family, and other customers with such disrespect. I had a pleasant experience at Goodhand Hair Salon today with my mom. Upon arrival, it felt a little sketchy at first because they were the only store open in this new building. However, we were very happy about our visit here. First of all, the prices were very affordable compared to the other popular hair salons. A median length hair cut with wash and style was about 30-40ish, and while both me and my mom and I received a haircut, we also went for a perm. So the total price for the visit for 2 haircut + 1 root perm + 1 cold perm was $220 with the 20% discount they offer for the brand opening. All the staff there were very nice and offered an honest opinion for a suitable hairstyle for my mom. The owner was very nice and taught my mom how to care for her hair after the visit and was very patient overall. I'm not too sure how well speaking the hair stylist is in English since I spoke with them primarily in Chinese, but it doesn't hurt to reach out and ask the owner about their pricing, what they recommend, etc. Also, the owner at this place responds to me almost immediately, unlike the other salon who referred me to either add them on wechat or call them, which I hate to do since I wanted a response from them rather than another "referral" to someone who can answer my question. read more
