Cookies are delightful treats that bring a burst of joy with every bite so I obviously bought a dozen to bring to my coworkers. We all thought the cookies were absolutely delicious! A dozen cookies cost $25 so I wish they were a little bigger in size. However, the cookies were chewy but crispy at the same time. The chocolate chip cookies were gooey but my favorite was the white chocolate macadamia nuts. It was heavenly!

BLINK AND YOU'LL MISS THIS HIDDEN GEM!!! Thank goodness I was walking with my kids!! I didn't even notice the sign and it's so easy to walk by the door and not even know a store is there!(it's a very small shop so there's no seating, it's just to go) My kids noticed the cookie sign out front and asked to go in - THANK GOODNESS!! Sadly it was already 2:45 so the options were limited but we got chocolate chip oatmeal, peanut butter, and white chocolate macadamia. I noticed they have chocolate chip peanut butter cookies so I figured if I had a chance I would try and come by another day. That night we ate the cookies and they were DELICIOUS!! The very next day I went back to the cookie shop at 11:30am and they were already sold out of the chocolate chip peanut butter cookies - the nice lady working there said they are the most popular. Even while we were ordering other cookies someone walked in to order CCPB cookies! The second time we got oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip, and peanut butter again. The peanut butter were my FAVORITE so I'm sure with chocolate chips they are to die for! I wish I could say I took any pictures of the cookies but I'm not kidding - the second they were out of the bag they were inhaled! This will be a regular stop for me any time I'm in Sacramento and I will a definitely be there at 10!!!!

As a was walking to Goodie Tuchews, I was crossing my fingers hoping it was still in business. A lot of downtown businesses had a tough go and shuttered down. Ohhh when I spotted the sign still hanging up... I sighed a big sigh of relief. Yay! The cookies are soft, thin, moist, not overly sweet... just downright simply delicious. I luv all the flavors of which they have a boatload of them. But I do have favorites...my top two are peanut butter and semi sweet chocolate chip. Yum! She uses top notch quality ingredients and no phony flavorings, so flavors are truer. Cookies are $2. The cookie shop is still right there on 1015 L Street next to See's Candies and near the Starbucks. It's open Monday - Friday 10am-3pm or until the cookies are sold out. They take card, cash and G payments. Another cool fact that it's a woman powered solo biz. The owner has been baking cookies and running the shop for 41 years!! Yup... 41! A small but mighty shop. It's a to go place with no seating. A friend of mine bought me my first Goodie Tuchew cookie over 23 years and I've been hooked since. This place is a iconic downtown business.

Cookies! I love me some cookies! I tried to get some here earlier in the month but turns out that the shop was closed for the holidays. No problemo as I was able to swing by recently when it was open. If you're a big fan of oatmeal cookies (like I am) you're going to love this place. This shop holds its name as the oatmeal cookies that I had here (one oatmeal raisin and one oatmeal chocolate chip) were delectably chewy. So so good! Wished I could say the same for the other cookies; the other cookies were a little crumbly, which in that sense only would still be okay cookies but these cookies were also on the bland side. Even the peanut butter cookie, which I think is the *ultimate* chewy cookie type in general, didn't have much of a chew and also didn't have that peanut butter flavor punch that I love in peanut butter cookies. This cookie shop is still worth a visit especially if you're in the area (better make a stop here if you're sightseeing the state capitol because the place is literally right across from it!). Take note though that the business is open only on weekdays.

Met the owner, Terry. She has been in business for 43 years! Had a walnut chocolate chip cookie which was the most buttery soft thing I've ever tasted! A walk up and grab and go vibe of classic cookie flavors made fresh by the owner in the kitchen behind them.

My favorite cookies. They're not too thick and raw tasting like some places. I love the variety. Sad I don't live closer.

My eye was first drawn to the churro, I haven't been able to have one in years, I was so excited. It was everything I ever wanted in a churro. I grew up loving apple fritters and since having to go GF, it is my most missed donut-adjacent treat. This one was smaller than a normal one, but that was fine because I could actually enjoy it without it being too big. Perfectly fluffy with apple pieces and spiced just right, it was delicious. The cruellers were nice and crispy on the outside and just sweet enough. Glazed with chocolate or regular icing, they are a perfect donut. Both tasted very good but slightly different without dairy. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the flavor and textures. My friend ended up with the white chocolate macadamia nut cookie which was also great. I love a crunch or different texture mixed in. She did mention that the Rocky Road tasted a bit off because of the lack of dairy and the texture was a bit unusual. The staff were polite and patient and the place didn't seem that crowded for a Thursday around dinner time. I suppose with Ginger Elizabeth's and Rick's Dessert Diner all on the same strip, there is a lot of competition for dessert places here. We were happy to try something new. Everything was fairly clean and there was plenty of bar seating as well as a few tables. I believe there were also tables outside.

The moment you walk in, the retro 1950s diner ambience immediately transports you back to classic Americana dessert culture. They've apparently been serving Sacramento for over 37 years! - Hot Fudge Sundae -- made with Gunther's vanilla & chocolate ice cream, topped with whipped cream, pralines, and a candied cherry; beautifully presented with warm hot fudge drizzled all over - Lemon Raspberry Cake -- moist sponge cake layered with lemon, raspberry, and whipped cream; balanced sweetness with buttercream-coated sides The red booth seating and vintage Americana decor really complete the nostalgic vibe. I was right next to them sitting at a table with my brother so of course I heard, and I got up and I said what's up with this grandma stuff, and he said that he answered her question and told her that he thought I was her grandmother. Honestly, I felt completely insulted like you're not supposed to say things like that to your customers or even about your customers. I felt myself getting ready to go completely off on him, so I walked away and went to sit back down. He had the audacity to tell my niece some people can't handle the truth. It's so baffling to me that a manager would say something like that. I know employees sometimes say inappropriate things, but he should know better!! This was supposed to be a nice family outing and he ruined my night. Luckily I have confidence in myself and his comment didn't give me a complex or make me like I look old. It was also disappointing because I went in there specifically to get an eclair, which is normally a decent size. For some reason, it was the half of the size and the same price.

Café de Olla is a classic Mexican coffee that offers a well-balanced blend of coffee, cinnamon, and brown sugar, often served with heavy cream to give you a comforting and energizing boost. Traditionally, it's even served at funerals as families celebrate the passing of a loved one into a better life. It's meant to be warm, rich, and meaningful. However, the café's version was far from that. The counter staff overpromised their Café de Olla, but it tasted terrible. When I asked to switch to a mocha because of how bad the coffee was, their friendly smile quickly disappeared. They didn't offer a replacement or try to make it right. Instead, I had to pay again for the mocha just to finish the coffee break with my wife. Very disappointing experience. It was an easy decision not to come back. If you're going to sell poor-quality coffee, at least stand behind it and fix the problem instead of charging customers twice. Promotes well in facebook- HELL NO not again.
