    Macaron
    Sylvia A.

The tiramisu Macaron was so yummy! It was a little messy but worth it! The store was cool and they had a lot of different options and I will definitely be back to try more. The staff were all so sweet and answered all the questions we had. They even gave good recommendations hence why I got tiramisu.

Having a local chocolate shop like Ginger Elizabeth's is so nice. It's located in Midtown on J, between 24th and 25th and while the location is small they do have some indoor and outdoor tables to enjoy your items right away. Inside they have some of their shelf stable gift items like jams, hot chocolate kits, and gift boxes. Once you reach the counter you'll find macarons, gourmet chocolates, fresh pastries, and cookies. They also sell hot chocolate and coffee. Their hot chocolate has been rated some of the best in the country. It is very decadent and delicious and the small size is a perfect indulgent treat. I also love their coffee options and their rose option of coffee and hot chocolate are my favorites. On my latest visit I bought some gifts for a friend and a slice of their Salty Caramel Chocolate Cake along with some hot chocolate to bring home for my husband and I. The team here is always friendly and efficient and on my last visit they were so busy (with Valentine's day) but were all in good spirits. There's a reason this is a Sacramento staple.

It was overcast and chilly and friend recommended we check out the hot chocolate as it was supposedly rated #1 in the country. I love dark chocolate and the sipping chocolate was recommended. There is the option of topping it with marshmallow or whipped cream - mine was topped with both. The small size was plenty - very rich and not too sweet which was surprising given the marshmallow and whipped cream topping. Quite decadent. Also ordered a 6-piece chocolate box. Can't remember all the flavors I ordered - only that I went with all dark chocolate. Can't say any of the flavors in particular stood out - maybe the almond one and the one with a dark chocolate ganache. Looks like their cookies are also quite popular as we observed many coming in to get those. Would definitely return for the sipping chocolate and to try their cookies.

Ginger Elizabeth's macarons are DELISH! They melt in your mouth, were not too sweet, and they were beautifully made! My favorite flavor was the salted caramel. Least favorite however, was chocolate (sadly). I also had ordered a hot cocoa from here and it comes with cute little marshmellies (kid size) and it was very rich! It's such a cute little fun shop for a quick dessert and to grab a few gifts for ppl. I've yet to try their chocolates but I assume they're very good! The employees were very sweet and patient with you while you're picking out what you want from the display. If you're in town, I hiiiiighly recommend getting some goodies from Ginger Elizabeth's.

Some kind of coffee mousse, I think?

Came for a sweet treat after lunch and got some macarons. The macarons I tried: Vietnamese coffee caramel Pumpkin spice Apple pie Salted caramel All were delicious but my favorite is still their salted caramel. Their macaron shells are perfect and they nailed those flavors down.

Lemon cucumber water. Chocolate chip cookie. Peppermint Hot Chocolate!

We finally made it here (in the rain -- well worth it) to try the seasonal peppermint hot chocolate. The store itself is beautiful, warm, and charming. Great staff -- engaging and welcoming. Now for the peppermint hot chocolate! 1) Spring for the 12 ounce option because you'll regret it if you don't. We were asked if we want whipped cream. The answer is yes. 2) An excellent accompaniment is the chocolate chip cookie. I'm sure that any of the other cookies would be delicious. It was a tough choice. 3) A little bird there told me that the peppermint hot chocolate is usually available through January. That being said, the other hot chocolate choices look wonderful. There are plenty of coffee options as well. 4) The baked goods look amazing! Next time. Hint -- they have four unique jams. $10.50 each, or buy three get one free. We bought four (3 for gifts, and a cherry rhubarb one for us). Enjoy the experience!

the shop is so lovely. so many dessert options to choose from. i went with the olive oil cake because that is one of my many weaknesses. i love that they do free samples. this place would be perfect to pick up a little hostess gift or gift for someone with a sweet tooth. staff was kind and attentive.

The best macaron ice cream sandwiches! Also love their macarons, hot chocolates, beautiful and delicious chocolates, house made marshmallows, and cookies. Such a cute shop and great service.

Finally made some time to visit this weekend after I had a taste of their salted caramel ice cream macaron years ago! I had no idea they had such a large variety of sweets. I ended up trying their salted caramel affogato and some macarons instead (and so I can come back a second time for the ice cream). They are definitely on the sweeter side, or I am just not a fan of affogato I guess. The macarons were great in small bites to savor the flavor. I loved the light crunch of the outer shells and then the soft filling. The girls were super sweet and offered complimentary samples of their Madagascar (?) chocolate when I first came in, and gave me a run down of what they offer! Interior was cute and had plenty of seating inside the shop, outside in the hallway, and even outdoors. This was a great place to stop by while going around midtown, especially after walking around in the heat at the Midtown Farmer's Market.

This is always a must-stop for me whenever I'm in the area! The chocolates and goodies are absolutely delicious and beautifully made. The shop is super cute, and the staff is great--friendly, helpful, and fast with service. It's the perfect spot for chocolate lovers and anyone with a sweet tooth!

A warm sweet scent will greet you as soon as you walk through the doors into the pink decorative Pâtisserie shop. Hand crafted chocolates in fun flavors and various other sweet treats. Every time I see them on TooGoodToGo I have to grab a bag! This time it was filled with various macarons. There was pumpkin, mint and a jelly one. All were absolutely delicious and had a great crunch to chewy ratio. Parking here is all street parking but I've never had a problem finding a spot nearby when I visit. Can't wait to try more goodies soon!

    Pistachio Dubai chocolate sundae
    Taylor P.

Had to come try their pistachio Dubai chocolate sundae and wow wow wow!! I stopped by on a Thursday before noon and there was no line -- score! The staff member who helped me was very pleasant and nice. She answered all my questions and was very patient while I decided. Ultimately I decided on just the sundae. It took about 2 minutes and wow, what a beauty! The ice cream was creamy and perfectly sweet. They were pretty generous with the pistachio shredded filo dough concoction and the crushed chocolate crumbs added the perfect texture and crunch. Surprisingly, I think the highlight was their whipped cream -- fluffy and definitely housemade. The cherry on top was a very nice touch. Although I love the indoor seating vibes, I took a seat outside and enjoyed in the sun alone -- it was delightful. Been here about 30+ times for various other items and Ginger always maintains its quality and amazing service.

Are the no longer making croissants?

    Not anymore, unfortunately.

    Do they do egg whites?

They do egg whites but they will include the yolk. If you are worried about the yolk cholesterol but not the cheese or the dressing or the sausage patty, this sandwich may not be for you.

Can you ONLY buy macarons in a 12 pack? Their website only displays the cost of a dozen.

You can buy them individually. I do it all the time.

Unfortunately, we had the displeasure of being helped by Trish. She was noticeably rude to my sister from the start. The irritation and outright contempt she displayed were unlike anything we've experienced at this location. She even spoke negatively about our order to the coworker making the drinks while we were standing just a few feet away, which was incredibly unprofessional. When we received the no-ice drinks, we understood that ordering without ice might mean the cup wouldn't be completely full. However, the amount of the drink we were given was unacceptable. While the drinks are delicious and worth to us, they are $8.00! Thankfully, when we requested a refund, it was handled by a different employee who was kind, courteous, and professional. I want to end by saying that my sister was polite and respectful throughout the entire interaction. The way she was treated was completely uncalled for, and we left feeling very disappointed. We have been visiting this location for many years and have never had an experience like this before.
