I was right next to them sitting at a table with my brother so of course I heard, and I got up and I said what's up with this grandma stuff, and he said that he answered her question and told her that he thought I was her grandmother. Honestly, I felt completely insulted like you're not supposed to say things like that to your customers or even about your customers. I felt myself getting ready to go completely off on him, so I walked away and went to sit back down. He had the audacity to tell my niece some people can't handle the truth. It's so baffling to me that a manager would say something like that. I know employees sometimes say inappropriate things, but he should know better!! The warm donut paired perfectly with the cold, creamy ice cream, and the coffee flavor worked so well with it all together. Like most other ice cream places, you can choose your flavors and toppings and eat it in a cup or cone. Customer service was great. The person serving us was really friendly and was great with my niece and nephew. The owner rung us up and was really friendly as well. I did not eat the ice cream, but the service and the way they looked makes me think it is decent ice cream. Great place overall and I may come back to try this if I go to Me's kitchen again.

I opted for their limited edition Strawberry Pretzel Salad. It has a salty crunch that brings out the sweetness of the strawberry ice cream. I also detected some cream cheese in there, which works really well! Can't wait to drop by again for their next lineup of limited edition flavors.

I've been coming to Leatherby's for over a decade, so this place is basically part of my Sacramento-area lore. After moving out of California earlier this year, I've discovered that one of the things I miss most is being able to casually stop by Leatherby's for ice cream, caramel, fries + ranch, and a meal that will inevitably leave me in a food coma. Let's talk about the caramel first because it deserves its own paragraph. Their caramel sauce is SUPER good. It has the perfect level of sweetness and a creamy texture without being ridiculously sticky. I've had plenty of caramel sauces elsewhere, and nothing has really compared to Leatherby's. If you like caramel, get it. No hesitation. Their French fries are another must-have for me. When they're fresh, they're crispy, nicely seasoned, and absolutely perfect with their ranch. The ranch is an additional charge, but I will happily pay it because the combination is SO good. For an actual meal, my go-to is the crab sandwich. My old favorite was their liverwurst sandwich, but unfortunately that disappeared from the menu years ago. RIP to a real one. :( My husband and son also love their burgers and always find them juicy and filling. And obviously, the ice cream is the star of the show. Their portions are generous, so don't underestimate what you're ordering. I leave stuffed basically every single time. Around this time of year, they would also have seasonal flavors like pumpkin, which I absolutely love. I seriously miss being able to get my seasonal ice cream fix here. They also have a rewards/points system! I've gotten $5 off my bill from accumulated rewards more than once. Worth signing up if you visit regularly. As for service, it can vary depending on how busy they are. This place is frequently packed, and understandably, that can slow things down. Every once in a while someone might forget to stop by our table, but it's been rare, and we've never had an experience so bad that it made us reconsider coming back. On our recent visit they had a fun blue pop rock flavor and a mango sorbet, along with a delicious caramel ice cream. You can't go wrong with any of them. Since they're closing soon they are running out of certain flavors, so stop by quickly and don't be afraid to buy an extra cup to put in the freezer. We ended up leaving with extra rainbow sherbet, caramel, cookie dough, and pop rocks to put in our freezer at home and we'll be stopping in at least one more time before they close.

This is a very busy area where a lot of families visit to go to restaurants, so not only is it hard to find parking, but the drivers are a little wild because they're unsure of where they're going.
