Great selection of gluten free and vegan breakfasts choices, pastries, donuts, and ice cream. I got the gluten free donut with chocolate frosting and sprinkles and it was SO yummy. The vibe here is cute and will definitely be back for some more pastries and donuts when back in Sacramento.

We stumbled upon this place since we parked here when we went to lunch and when we got back in the car, I noticed across the street it said donuts! So we got back out and trotted over to see. Very surprised to see that they are gluten-free and vegan and we are not however we figured let's give them a try. We chose a Russian tea cookie flavor, almond Joy, chocolate, apple fritter, and a lemon cream. We were full from lunch so we save these for dessert after dinner and we're pleasantly surprised on how delicious they were. They were moist and almost had a mochi doughnut type of consistency. My favorite was the lemon cream. It was very flavorful and melted in your mouth. They also serve ice cream here which I heard was one of their big sellers in the evenings. It's right next to Ginger Elizabeth so come give them a try the flavor combinations are great and I'm assuming they have different ones every so often if not daily. Very friendly staff they are card only which makes sense down here in the evenings probably not safe to have cash around. Come check them out, especially if you're vegan or looking for some gluten-free treat treats!

Amazing gluten free vegan donuts. The ice cream was also amazing with waffle cones from Pushkin's, and they also offer amazing gluten free vegan paninis (we tried the pizza and loaded grilled cheese and both were amazing).

Babes is located on J Street across from Chicago Fire and right next to the beloved Ginger Elizabeth's! I was in the mood for dessert for dinner tonight - it's been one of those weeks, just saying. I stopped in to Babes to check out what they had to offer and the inside was super cute. They offer different types of coffee, ice cream and donuts. They are also 1,000 percent vegan, but that did not scare me away! Even though I was eyeballing the ice cream, I decided to take home a few donuts - I went with the Ferrero Rocher, the Cruller and the Gingerbread. My favorite of the 3 was definitely the Ferrero Rocher - I loved the crunch from the nuts! The donuts were more dense than fluffy, but they were a lot better than some non vegan donut places that I've been too! They tasted fresh, but they were also very sweet - no complaining though. I said it was a dessert for dinner night, didn't I? Staff were friendly and gave good recommendations. I will definitely be back to check out the coffee and ice cream selections! Check them out!

Pumpkin pie soooo good!

I got my good cup of coffee in hand walking around midtown and I just want something to pair with the ice coffee that's black. . So I drove by and let's see what they have seasonal at babes donuts. I saw they have blueberry lemon which sound so good but I got to be good. I went with pumpkin pie which was wow. . Pumpkin pie donut. It was hit for me. The presentation looks great. Has some cream on top. Nice glaze on it. The first bite reminds me of Thanksgiving. A pumpkin pie lover must come here and try the pumpkin donut. . Love simple clean set up inside. Quick easy grab and go kind of style. There is a few table inside to enjoy the goods. Love how there is some color kid activity paper for kids too. . Overall if you love donuts and love vegan, gluten free and all the specialties they have it here. Hope this review helps. Thanks for reading and have a yelptastic day.

Delicious! Not a ton of flavors but all tasty! Reminds me of Italy.

While it was a bit hot outside, the ice cream was cool and delightful! Coffees, paninis, and ice cream. Awesome!

Got a sweet treat before school and was so satisfied!!! Babes was super cute, we went at a good time being the only ones in there.Good seating on the inside. The man serving us was kind and we tried the smores as well but was look for something more light. The peach cobbler was delicious and creamy! The doughnuts weren't too dense and were very soft! I'm not vegan or gluten free but love all of the puskins businesses. Never disappoints

We popped in and grabbed some donuts. It was fast and easy and the donuts were delicious. I had the maple and the apple fritter. Both were fresh, and flavorful. The texture was perfect. You would never know these were gluten free and vegan! It's so nice to not have to ask 20 questions to determine if it's safe for someone with celiac to eat there. Cashier was friendly.

Thank you, Babes, for providing a 'yes' experience for kiddos (and adults) with dietary restrictions. It fills our kid with joy to enter your shop and know that everything is an option for him. Please continue to offer a wheat free experience as we navigate the trials and tribulations of discovering allergens. Your crew is kind, patient, and clear about ingredients and allergen options. P. S. The churros are the bomb!

Got a churro and apple fritter- you've got to try both! I basically inhaled the fritter still in the store.

The moment you walk in, the retro 1950s diner ambience immediately transports you back to classic Americana dessert culture. They've apparently been serving Sacramento for over 37 years! - Hot Fudge Sundae -- made with Gunther's vanilla & chocolate ice cream, topped with whipped cream, pralines, and a candied cherry; beautifully presented with warm hot fudge drizzled all over - Lemon Raspberry Cake -- moist sponge cake layered with lemon, raspberry, and whipped cream; balanced sweetness with buttercream-coated sides The red booth seating and vintage Americana decor really complete the nostalgic vibe. Service was friendly and quick, and the overall ambience was cozy, retro, and diner-themed. Rick's Dessert Diner definitely feels one-of-a-kind, I'll have to stop by again next time I'm passing through Sacramento.

" He was making small talk with her and he asked her if we were her family. She asked him which one he thought was her "PARENT." He replied that he thought I was her grandmother. I'm 54 years old and have a 30-year-old daughter and my niece is 25. I don't even know how that would be possible. I was right next to them sitting at a table with my brother so of course I heard, and I got up and I said what's up with this grandma stuff, and he said that he answered her question and told her that he thought I was her grandmother. Honestly, I felt completely insulted like you're not supposed to say things like that to your customers or even about your customers. I felt myself getting ready to go completely off on him, so I walked away and went to sit back down. He had the audacity to tell my niece some people can't handle the truth. It's so baffling to me that a manager would say something like that. I know employees sometimes say inappropriate things, but he should know better!! This was supposed to be a nice family outing and he ruined my night. Luckily I have confidence in myself and his comment didn't give me a complex or make me like I look old. It was also disappointing because I went in there specifically to get an eclair, which is normally a decent size. For some reason, it was the half of the size and the same price.

But my friend convinced me to give it a try at The Parlor Ice Cream ad Puffs and WOW O WOW!! I ended up getting an unglazed donut with coffee ice cream made and it was incredible. They have a great selection of Gunther's ice cream so you really can't go wrong with a flavor. The warm donut paired perfectly with the cold, creamy ice cream, and the coffee flavor worked so well with it all together. Definitely something I'll save for an occasional treat, but it's also something I have already been thinking about often now. The staff was also super sweet and welcoming. I'll definitely be back!

The person serving us was really friendly and was great with my niece and nephew. The owner rung us up and was really friendly as well. I love all of the flavors, but the rainbow sherbet and chocolate flavors are always a favorite. On our recent visit they had a fun blue pop rock flavor and a mango sorbet, along with a delicious caramel ice cream. You can't go wrong with any of them. Since they're closing soon they are running out of certain flavors, so stop by quickly and don't be afraid to buy an extra cup to put in the freezer.
