I did a Google search and came up with Anchor. They are located fairly close to me so I gave them a call. They said they had it. I went over to a store that for the past ten years that I'd lived in this area had no idea existed. I opened the door and it was just like taking a step back in time. The place itself is not very big but everything is organized and easily accessible. I went over to the counter and explained what I was looking for. They showed me where the bulbs were plus a bucket of miscellaneous ones that hadn't made it to the shelf yet. I found what I needed and paid them. I watched as they hand wrote my receipt. This place is totally old school and they're likely the last ones around like this. The only negative is that they aren't open on weekends. If you're a hobbyist and need electronic components that no one else has give these guys a visit.

Anchor had one for a $buck. What a value! It's also fun to walk the aisle and see all the components. Brings back memories

Absolutely shady, he will do anything to get your business, but once you handover your device, you are in for a never ending wait. My first bad experience was somewhere in 2020. At that time I gave him the benefit of doubt. Recently I took my MacBook which had a blown motherboard, diagnosed by Apple authorized center. I just took it to him to see if my data can be restored. He said it may not be motherboard issues. It could also be battery issue. He tried to sell me another motherboard for around $360. Anyway I left the MacBook with him with the assurance of being called back in 1 hour. Of course I received the call, but he said the issue was with the motherboard and advised me to get the motherboard replaced. I refused and asked him to give me back my MacBook after putting the things back in. He started saying that he did not have time to put it back. Anyway after 5 hours I got it back, that too I had to personally go to his shop and wait there. He charged me $60 for diagnostics for something which Apple authorized center had already diagnosed. For what? For unscrewing and screwing back again. There was no mention of diagnosis charge when I handed the laptop. At that time also he was trying to sell the motherboard and brought down the price to less than $300. Please stay away!!!

They gave me back my computer with diagnostics fee being the only cost I paid (39 bucks at the time!) and she's back in working order! Really appreciated their ability to work around my schedule too. The different employees at work here were all incredibly helpful in assisting my son on building his computer, they pretty nerdy, but all in the good way! Lol a lot of items were behind the lock cabinets, but there was an employee behind the counter that could quickly come unlock everything. They had their own private parking lot in the back and prices were basically the same as online my son said, unless you were buying us somewhat used item from a private vendor. So yes, I will come here again to tag along with my son since I do not know how to make my own computer, but he does. He loves this place!!

One less sale to a brick and mortar store. One less interaction with a human who can answer a question IRL and IRT. One missed opportunity to see and touch product for yourself. Sure you might get a sour reply. Or an agent who doesn't know a picofarad from a PC board. You might also get damaged deliveries from Amazon. Sure the return process is relatively painless, but the time spent is less productive than hammering out whatever issue it is with the store. I bought two Arduino kits from Amazon. One was damaged and couldn't be used so I searched for replacements and looked at Jameco. Their site yielded pages of replacements and alternatives. Between the selection and the descriptions, I was able to what I was looking for a a few things I didn't know I needed. Kind of like browsing at Fry's. Yes, they have minimum quantity purchases for many items. Yes, your browsing is going to be mostly online. When I went to pick up my items, the display area was basically the lobby. The person at the desk could answer some questions and "a guy in the back" could provide more detail. This is what it takes to maintain a physical retail presence for many specialty shops these days. I learned of Anchor from someone else, and I'll visit that store one day. But it's twice as far from me as Jameco, and Jameco delivered what I needed.
