Rick came out first and did a great job getting the requirements and then came back with a reasonable price for the work. On install day they came out on time, did great work and left no mess! The most recent visit was for a service call where my breaker kept tripping. Rick came out the next day, other places I called were booking a week plus out, and got right to work. We got the power on and stable then started plugging everything in and havent had an issue since! Will definitely be using Helme Electric for all my needs going forward.

A friend had a new unit installed by Bounds last year and was very happy with the service, so I called them yesterday hoping I could get service before the July 4th holiday weekend. I received a call from the technician within 2 hours who was able to meet me as soon as I could get home, which I was within 30 min. I told him on the phone (at 3pm) that I had an appointment and would need to leave at 4:40. Anthony (Tony) got right to work checking the system inside, then outside and determined that I had a leak somewhere. He had to add Freon, then added a dye to the system which will get checked in 10-14 days. Tony was very professional and kind and was working hard to adhere to my schedule so that I wouldn't be late for my appt. He explained the cost of the service provided (Freon isn't cheap, but necessary!) and the cost of the leak detection when they return is included. I am so pleased that they were able to respond as quickly as they did, especially with the heat we've had lately! I was able to keep my thermostat temp a few degrees higher and still feel comfortable! Thank you Tony and Bounds!

I have a home (Ocala) built in 2002 with two (2) heat pumps The builder-installed heat pumps were…read moreby a no-name manufacturer. Starting in 2006, these units needed annual repairs that started at ~$350 and eventually got as high as $950. So when one of the units died (again) in 2012, I decided enough - replace both units with reliable name brand units. I had several estimates from Ocala-based HVAC companies, but decided to see if a Gainesville-based company would do an install and service. I am very glad that I made the call! Bob and his crew were exceptionally professional. Right off the bat, Bob did a heat load analysis to see what size units were necessary. Unlike most of the local companies (who merely looked at the existing units and offered to replace them with same-sized units), Bob engineered a system that fit the house. Bob and his crew installed Carrier Performance series SEER 15 variable speed indoor and outdoor units + new copper lines + installed new "intelligent" thermostats with humidity-control (a plus in FL) + a high efficiency 4" Honeywell paper filter system + sealed all duct work vents (to prevent conditioned air from escaping into non-living areas) + included a 1-year service contract. For about the same price (+/- $200) as the next lowest bidder (using the same Carrier-brand equipment), proposed to install lower-grade Comfort-series non-variable speed units + a similar dry filter system + reuse old thermostats + reuse old copper lines + no duct work sealing + no maintenance plan. Hmmm . . . which do you think was a better deal? The new systems are much quieter than the old OEM equipment, run less frequently for shorter periods of time and do a better job of maintaining indoor air quality. BTW, when I mention the systems run more quietly (both inside systems and outside coils), let me give a couple examples: (i) Outside coil systems: the OEM systems could be heard literally down the street (at least 3 -4 houses away); the new units can barely be heard from my mailbox; (ii) one of indoor units runs so quietly that the only way to tell it is running is put your ear on the box and listen - quietly!

Spookily (not their fault) my A/C completely broke down last night. I called at 7:30 am and the technician picked up (their 24-hour service isn't just a voicemail or answering service). Mike was here by 9:30 and had my A/C fixed (new capacitor) and back up and running by 10 all for under $200. He cleaned the drain line for free and coached me in how to keep it clean (1 cup of vinegar every 3-4 months). Both technicians were responsive and efficient - and incredibly nice.
