Will not hesitate to call VEI in future -- though existing conditions nationally and locally cause one-month work delay.

In a nutshell, I got overpriced service and very bad (nonexistent) customer service…read more I was given a high quote for a job that was supposed to take 4 hours, yet the guys did it in 1. Shouldn't that merit a price reduction??? When I called REPEATEDLY to speak to someone about my bill, no one was -- magically! -- available. Despite my threats to fire the company, which I have used for a couple of years, based on a friend's recommendation, NO ONE HAS EVER CALLED ME BACK. You're fired, Mid-Florida, and I'll be telling my friends and neighbors this story and warning them away from you.

Our unit went out in March 2025 and the technician who came out sold us on a $12,000 unit, as it…read morewas the best unit for the size of our house. At that time, this cost included installation and all the items needed for an AC unit to run correctly. They did not state there were any other things we may need to purchase to make the unit run. At the end of May, we had another technician come out to the house to check on the unit, as it air was loud, like there was a waterfall in the house, when it was cycling. We wanted to make sure the unit was installed correctly. At that time, my elderly parents were at the house. The technician told them they needed to install a new start assist, as the amps were running high, a surge protector and a trip fee. The cost, $757. I was not in town and was unaware of the extra costs. In October, the company called to have us do our 6 month inspection, which was included in the original purchase. I found out at this time, that the $757 had been paid at the last visit. I contacted the company to see why these costs were charged and was informed the trip fee was a mistake. They couldn't tell me why the other things were charged to my parents, as that should have been included in the original costs or should have been covered by warrantee. I have tried at least five times to speak to a supervisor and have not had anyone call me back. We had a wonderful technician, Nate, come to do the inspection and it was found they never installed the filtration system on the AC unit and it had been running daily in the Florida heat for seven months. Nate, contacted the installation supervisor, who saw that we originally paid to have the filtration system put in and that they now needed to come out to do that. I tried to call a supervisor again after this visit and was directed to a voicemail. I am not happy that my elderly parents may have been taken advantage of or that our concerns have not been investigated. When installing such an expensive unit, I would assume all of the parts necessary to make the unit run would be included in the original costs. Other than the great contact we had with Nate, I am not happy with the service we have received in regards to getting the overcharges looked at and the unit not having the filtration unit installed.

I have a home (Ocala) built in 2002 with two (2) heat pumps The builder-installed heat pumps were…read moreby a no-name manufacturer. Starting in 2006, these units needed annual repairs that started at ~$350 and eventually got as high as $950. So when one of the units died (again) in 2012, I decided enough - replace both units with reliable name brand units. I had several estimates from Ocala-based HVAC companies, but decided to see if a Gainesville-based company would do an install and service. I am very glad that I made the call! Bob and his crew were exceptionally professional. Right off the bat, Bob did a heat load analysis to see what size units were necessary. Unlike most of the local companies (who merely looked at the existing units and offered to replace them with same-sized units), Bob engineered a system that fit the house. Bob and his crew installed Carrier Performance series SEER 15 variable speed indoor and outdoor units + new copper lines + installed new "intelligent" thermostats with humidity-control (a plus in FL) + a high efficiency 4" Honeywell paper filter system + sealed all duct work vents (to prevent conditioned air from escaping into non-living areas) + included a 1-year service contract. For about the same price (+/- $200) as the next lowest bidder (using the same Carrier-brand equipment), proposed to install lower-grade Comfort-series non-variable speed units + a similar dry filter system + reuse old thermostats + reuse old copper lines + no duct work sealing + no maintenance plan. Hmmm . . . which do you think was a better deal? The new systems are much quieter than the old OEM equipment, run less frequently for shorter periods of time and do a better job of maintaining indoor air quality. BTW, when I mention the systems run more quietly (both inside systems and outside coils), let me give a couple examples: (i) Outside coil systems: the OEM systems could be heard literally down the street (at least 3 -4 houses away); the new units can barely be heard from my mailbox; (ii) one of indoor units runs so quietly that the only way to tell it is running is put your ear on the box and listen - quietly!

I'll add more photos and videos. Worst experience ive ever had! 1600 plus and this is what im left…read morewith??? scott did it himself too... Its not even smooth surfaces he said they dont do sanding .... i HAVE to retexture my wall myself Fine i get it but the guy who cut holes in our walls 2 yrs ago to instal caneras did a better mudding/fill job than this guy. Ill be going through all camera footage as ive already seen he's hit my wall with our metal ladder too many times to count yesterday and now i get to finish and fix his poor filling job on ALL cut outs in my home MYSELF. Ill post videos if i can when i download them. It was excuse after excuse on MULTIPLE THINGS. Pitiful and yes my husband agrees! I atleast was taught how to use mud fill it and SMOOTH it out . Scott said they only do rough patch no sanding but all other customers are happy with it.... really??? I highly doub it!.... i hope his wife would be happy with this final product in THEIER home if they wer3 just a customer because its not GOOD BUSINESS and now we are telling our neighbors not to use them! Nice guy at 1st til confronted but very very condiscending today and knew he was but so glad i have it on audio from my hall camera. nobody would be happy with this so called fill in the holes and cracks. My husband has severe back problems and dr visits and cant be home 100% of tge time besies im not dumb or new to patchwork as we had to when we sold our old home and yes I A FEMALE DID IT! Needless to say we waited to see if he would do better yesterday or but Today it got worse. This is the "owner" lol thats pitiful and NOT WORTH OVER 1600 when im gonna spend even more to fix it what he shoould have done because noe even holes or screws are fully covered still indents around his cut outs and the filler isnt smooth at all and then texture it again myselfi can do that!! Very very disappointed!!!!.... im glad i have cameras in and outside my home GARAGE INCLUDED These pictures are from the 3 total visits hes made and WE WILL NOT ALLOW A 4TH!!!....sure things work but I mean for 1600 plus no i should not have to do this bull myself. If my husbands back wasn't so messed up and dr appointments and physical therapy and chiropractor he'd be here the whole time every time. I do have a few pictures as well text message wise to show other inconsistent information. His "clean-up " is a joke he got mud all over the picture I has specifically made by an artist of our deceased cat for my husband and the only thing that looks good is my daughters chandelier in her room but we found mud on it too now. Its poor service on the tail end and im WAITING on the desk faceplate that will hopefully be given to me as its already paid for as we paid Scott in full now. Yup gotta wait for drake customer service and blah blah blah. Look we all have real life problems but there are so many in consistency with what he said yesterday and today . I see why only 17 reviews and very little reviews elsewhere now. Its ridiculous! Scott set the price added on more fine I get that BUT if I knew my walls and all the holes would look like this when finished ummmmmm no. There's no way other people can be happy with this type of "rough patchwork " id like to see those pics. So if you have a simple project they might be ok if its more than a light then PAY THE EXTRA $$$ . I really dont care what his responses are as i have proof of poor execution and im not a young dumb woman or anything. I was an army brat im not incapable of doing things. A blind person could have done this patchwork better than he did! No i dont want Scott back in my home EVER. I feel sorry for people who hire him and HOPE they see this and my pictures! Good luck everyone just pay the extra $!!! highly highly do NOT recomend ! I'll add more pictures today!

Their first available appointment was a week out, probably because they are the ONLY electricians that actually answer the phone or return phone calls. Two gentlemen came out to my house and spent an hour or so checking each point in the current until they were able to identify the issue and fixed it quickly once located. All in all came out to about $100/HR. Both electricians were extremely nice, knowledgeable, and honest. I would use them again for sure.
