If you're looking to get scammed and have your time wasted, this is the dealership for you…read more We contacted Car Lux Inc. after finding a vehicle we were interested in. We told our salesperson, Maximus, that we had the money ready and would be driving down from Northern California within about a week to purchase it. Instead of simply holding the car, he immediately used pressure tactics, claiming it would likely sell unless we put down a **$500 refundable deposit**. Once we paid the deposit, the dealership marked the vehicle as sold and removed the listing, CarFax, and all of the vehicle information from their website. When we later asked for the CarFax again, Maximus suddenly became "too busy" to respond, despite previously replying almost instantly. Before making the trip, we specifically asked if there would be any issues paying with a cashier's check on July 4th since banks would be closed. Maximus told us to send him a photo of the check several days in advance so he could have it verified beforehand. We did exactly that, and he confirmed everything was good to go. After driving several hours to the dealership, everything fell apart. First, the vehicle was nothing like it had been represented. We were told it had new tires, yet the front tires had a 2012 manufacture date. The car was filthy, covered in scratches and paint chips, had faded paint, broken buttons, rattling mirrors, suspension issues, exhaust problems, and cheap aftermarket parts. Based on its condition, it likely needed close to **$10,000** in repairs. After spending hours test driving the car and completing paperwork, we were suddenly told our cashier's check had **never been verified**, despite Maximus previously confirming that it had been. The only option they offered was financing, which conveniently came with numerous undisclosed fees. Maximus repeatedly insisted he had verified the check until the finance manager called him out in front of us for lying and told us he would be **firing Maximus because this wasn't the first time he had made this kind of mistake**. Whether that was genuine or just for show, it was incredibly unprofessional. Read every line of the paperwork. The contracts included several undisclosed fees and add-ons, including a vehicle tracker we never requested. We believe many of these practices are deceptive, and **we will be filing complaints with both the FTC and the Better Business Bureau (BBB).** To make matters worse, getting our refundable deposit back became another ordeal. After we decided not to purchase the vehicle, they repeatedly stalled and told us to leave, promising they would send the refund later. We refused to leave without our money and informed them that we would involve the police if necessary. The moment law enforcement was mentioned, our $500 refund was processed within minutes. This was, without question, one of the worst dealership experiences we've ever had. Between the misleading description of the vehicle, high-pressure sales tactics, contradictory information, questionable contract practices, and the difficulty getting our own money back, I cannot recommend Car Lux Inc. to anyone. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration, and buy your car somewhere else.

I really do thank him because he took the time to explain the difference between purchasing and leasing a vehicle. This is something that no one else has ever done. He went beyond just trying to sell me a vehicle and moved into the area of finances. This is very important to me. His manager Carlos Lopez further explained leasing and the advantages of it - considering my situation. He worked with me on the contract, making it so I had the coverage I wanted, with a monthly payment I could manage. Both Deje and Carlos answered all my questions thoroughly and patiently. They were kind, courteous, professional, attentive and created a no rush, no pressure atmosphere. I want Honda to know that they are both excellent representatives of your corporation. It's because of them and the rest of the excellent service team, led by Lyle Ota (I have to acknowledge Lyle), that I will continue to be a Honda customer.

EDIT: Spoke with Brian the GM and he did apologize for the experience. He was extremely friendly but unfortunately what is done is done. If we are in the market again for a car, I will try to contact Brian to give their dealer another chance. Will increase to 2 stars from 1 as he was very open to criticism and understood why we were upset with the whole situation.

I was upfront about my situation: low credit score, past repo, no large deposit, a trade-in that wasn't in great condition, and negative equity. Even after explaining all of that, I was repeatedly told to come in and that it shouldn't be a problem. I asked multiple times because I didn't want to waste anyone's time. When I arrived, I worked with a sales agent who was honestly great. He was respectful and genuinely seemed to want to help. On Day 1, we spent hours trying different vehicles and lenders but weren't successful. I was told I may need a larger down payment (around $5,000) or a co-signer. I understood and left. The next day, I received a call and was told to come back because a woman named Natasha might be able to help. I was told she was one of the few people who could work directly with banks to try to get approvals. She seemed kind and said she would do her best. Later that night, after following up, I was told they couldn't make anything work--but that Natasha suggested I look at an entry-level vehicle like a Sentra or Chevy Malibu. I agreed. On May 22nd, I was told to come back at 1 PM because there was still a chance. After waiting, the agent told me I'd likely be placed into an entry-level vehicle and that there was a good possibility I'd leave with something. They asked about my down payment, and I explained I had $1,000 now and could provide more in two weeks. Then my file was handed to another employee and suddenly I was told there was absolutely nothing they could do. At that point I was confused. I had spent three days there, driven back and forth, and had repeatedly been encouraged to return. I politely asked if I could speak with Natasha just to understand what changed. Instead, I was directed to speak with the employee who denied it. I asked respectfully why the situation changed. He explained it was because of my negative equity and amount owed, but when I referenced information I believed had been given earlier, the conversation shifted into questioning where I got my information from instead of explaining the change. The conversation became uncomfortable, and at one point I was told to get off the phone with my partner, who had been involved in helping with the down payment. I declined, thanked Natasha, and left. I don't know if he was having a bad day, but I did not deserve that interaction after communicating respectfully and giving three days of my time. Ironically, after leaving, I was approved elsewhere with $1,000 down on a brand new 2026 Nissan. I do want to say again that the sales agent I worked with was genuinely great and encouraged me not to give up. My issue is not with him--it's with the changing expectations and communication. I hope in the future you guys treat people better. Life is already hard for people we are all trying to get better in life. Your in a business where your going to get people trying to get in better things, be kind. Lose the attitude and stop the misleading info. Also, stop having people in New York texting your clients telling them false info. Thanks! See you never again!

Purchasing the vehicle was an easy process. We offered full cash for the vehicle and asked if the price would be negotiable, there was little to no wiggle room, so we did half cash and half finance. Drove the vehicle home the same day. On Thanksgiving evening (on our way out) the transmission went out while on the freeway. Car was loaded with the entire family, had to get the car towed to the mechanic while Ubering to our destination. We spent a couple thousand dollars in fixing the transmission, and a few hundred bucks on the tow truck along with the uber on Thanksgiving night. We haven't driven the truck for even 1000 miles and already replaced the transmission, which gives this place a 1 star rating. We did not call when the transmission went out, didn't think we'd get any consideration since we were considered owners of the vehicle already. However, we called 1-week after they responded to our google review and until today, we have not received follow up. If a follow up is received, I will post an update. The entire family was friendly and helpful throughout the purchasing process. My conclusion on this experience: I purchased a used vehicle at Hawthorne Motors Express and the transmission went out 3 months after owning it. *we are proud owners of 2 previously owned vehicles, which were purchased from Enterprise Car Sales. I know where I'll be going for my next car.
