Auburn goodwill has been my spot for years! My mom moved to auburn about 15 years ago , and In the years of shopping here I've NEVER seen it this nice and organized. I went in the other day and the store was SPOTLESS, clothing was organized by color and it was so appealing to the eye and made shopping for goodies so much easier and enjoyable! Great selections on items with pretty good prices for thrift prices these days, I scored on a Pendleton blanket for $6.99!!! Long story short, my wife went and asked a rude employee (Elyse McKenna) if my son could use the restroom for an emergency so that he didn't have an accident in the store. Instead of just a simple policy being stated to her that my son could not use the restroom. She was very rude with my family cursing & even lying that we had been rude to her prior visits (mind you we are from CA & have only been to this location maybe 2 times prior) & HAVE NEVER been rude in fact we have even given her a pass with her bad customer service as we never want to give people bad reviews but at this point I had asked for her name CALMY & POLITELY so that I could report her to her boss. From there she starts to yell and get out of hand in which her coworker immediately apologizes for her behavior and that "she was having a bad day". From this point, the security guard immediately decided to involve himself without any inclination of what was going on and try to have me leave the store for no reason. I felt discriminated against immediately because of my size. I never want to pull the race card, especially with the security guard not necessarily being racist during the incident, but the employee definitely posed me as a threat against the gaurd simply because I look intimidating & defended my family over my 3 year old son needing a restroom. I have received corporate contacts to report this issue & full names of the staff. Why post this review? I believe it's a prime example that @goodwill has a lot they need to fix with their staff & 3rd party contracted security companies. This employee needs to be terminated; there have been countless times where people get arrested, shot or banned for wrongful reasons simply for looking a certain way. I was threatened that police would be called; for what crime? Debating getting a lawyer. read more

The store was very organized and clean. Lots of women's clothes and a few isles of men's clothes. I got one item and my sister got a handful of things. Most of the clothes were about $5.99. The cashiers were very polite and there were multiple people working around the store that were helpful. My only concern was that the line became very long and the two self check out machines weren't working. Other than that it was a good visit. read more

I have donated to Goodwill many times over the years. Today the car in front of me dropped off literally 10 black tied trash bags. The guy did not go through any of them. When it was my turn, he said he couldn't accept the bin without the lid. I showed him the lid. Then he began to run his hands through the container like he was trying to approve of the items I was donating. How are you gonna do that when you legit didn't even open up one bag from the guy that went ahead of me?? I ended up loading it back into my car and not donating anything. read more

Went in today and no one's following the six distance rule, not even the workers. Most workers (not all, saw a small handful with their masks secured well) had their masks hanging down so their noses were exposed, they didn't comment on anyone not wearing a mask and are not enforcing the mask rule at all. Had to grumble at several people for being in our bubble when it was completely unnecessary (check stand area for example, where there was one check stand open) the lady did not need to be standing within three feet of me. read more

The girl security officer with colored hair is on a power trip. Followed me around the store than told me my purse was too big to be in the store. I've had the same purse for years and shop here often. Tried explaining I'm a regular, she didn't care. Never forgot what this Auburn Goodwill did. They were not helpful at all including the police. Until today I do not understand why that problem this store created was just thrown away. They told my son they know the man who came over to ask for my son's bag and their worker (they claim was a young girl, and new at work) was used as an excuse. Their locker was broken and can see through my son's bag in it. While my son was shopping the worker gave away my son's bag with an electronic camera, apt, key, bike key parked outside. He lost everything that day. Why was it they say they know the man and yet it was an impossible task. They did not have any ticket to show proof who owns the bag. My son simply trusted them. Why was it so hard to get that bag if they knew who that man was and where he lives? That was the cruelest thing they ever did. Worst goodwill in WA read more

OK, I seriously hated on this store previously for their overpricing, and haven't been back in a while. Since then, they've remodeled their store in the new WA Goodwill style, and in this case it's actually an improvement. The old store was fairly large, but run-down, and the prices were ridiculous compared to other Goodwill stores. Now they've cleaned up and redone the place, moved the fitting rooms to the center of the store, and added fancy typographical signs on the walls. It definitely looks nicer and more modern now. Their selection still isn't huge, but they have the 99 cent clearance rack, and prices are more in line with other Goodwill stores in the area. I still wouldn't go out of my way to visit this particular store, but the remodel has definitely improved the shopping experience. read more

This Goodwill is small and stinky. Prices were outrageous for a thrift shop. A used tshirt for 6.99? I can go to Marshalls and get a brand new tshirt for that price. And I will. I used to support Goodwill and what it stands for and recycling clothing, books, etc but the prices are getting RIDICULOUS. Wont be going back nor donating. I will find another place that can use the items I donate. read more

No public restroom usage!! Also, only 3 items allowed in the fitting room at all times. I was trying to rush because I had to use the restroom but I couldn't handle the time it took to get completely redressed in between my 3 items of clothing to go out and grab 3 more.... Lots of great merchandise and this is a recently remodeled store. However, the wait in line can be very long, even if there are not many people in line. Also, buyer beware, if you bring back your merchandise with a receipt, they give you store credit. I was very unhappy about this. So, I have all this store credit. Damn you Macklemore.. Thrift store shopping has been my "not so secret" secret for YEARS, and now this guy gets on the radio and tells all. The nerve. This Goodwill has a great selection of stuff to rummage through and convince yourself you need. Broken toaster? Tube TV's? They have them. They also seem to get a large selection of nicer furniture items. Much nicer than I've seen at other Goodwills. Not sure why that is, but I like it nonetheless. The clothes donated and displayed at this Goodwill seem to be of better quality than what I've seen at other locations (read: Seattle). I will say that due to the quality of the items, it does seem this store is just a bit pricier than the other locations around town. The way I get around that is by shopping on the days a particular tag is on sale. They have a calendar showing when all the deals and specials for the month are taking place. Most of the good quality name brand clothes are red tag so be sure to go on reg tag 50% off days. Most of the good hardline items such as electronics are orange tag, so if that tickles your fancy, go on 50% off orange days and so on. The calendar can be found online. Hope this helps. read more

Hi, I love the goodwill store in Auburn wa. But I went there this afternoon and I wanted too look at this panisonic tv they had there and I wanted too see the picture that it had. So I asked one of the employees there for help and they didn't know how too hook it up, so I asked the supervisor there, and she came out from the back and she was so rude too me I couldn't believe it. She told me if I wanted it i would have too buy it without seeing if it worked. And when I said I don't feel comfortable buying without seeing it work, she said that's fine.and she would not go down in price any also.i really don't think she should be working there at all! read more

Of all the Goodwills I have been to this one is the worst. I called and spoke to a woman there on Saturday February 10th at about 3:20 in the afternoon. I asked if they were accepting furniture and she told me that they were. I wanted to make sure that they accepting it before making the trip there as the prior weekend we were turned away and told that they were not. My brother in law then took a dresser down to the Auburn Way Goodwill to donate and when he got there he was told that they were not accepting furniture. He explained that I had called and asked first and that I was told that they were. The attendant and even the store manager actually had the nerve to accuse us of lying and said that nobody called. I had spoken to a woman who had answered the phone and I wish I had gotten her name so that I could refer to her as my contact. Why in the world would we make up such a story? We wouldn't, there would be no point in it. I am never going to donate to a Goodwill again. I actually have a lot of nice things that I am getting rid of right now because I just don't have the room to keep so much stuff as I now live in an apartment instead of a house. I will probably never set foot in a Goodwill again either. I cannot believe that such rude people are actually employed by such a big company that is supposed to help the community. From now on I am only donating to the Humane Society Thrift Store. The people that are there are all very kind and polite and I know that the proceeds actually do go to a good cause. With Goodwill you can never be sure where the donated items go. I can actually go into the Humane Society Thrift Store and see things I have donated on the shelf for sale. They have a lot of really nice things and you can find just about anything there and at much better prices than Goodwill and in better condition as well. Goodwill has disappointed me for the last time. I would not even be giving them the one star rating I am right now but this review will not be posted without at least one. When I want to visit the nearest thrift store, I usually opt for the Goodwill that is right down the road from my house. They have decent prices, and usually have some good books and DVD's, with a nice selection of clothes and shoes to choose from. I've lost count of how many wonderful things I've purchased here, so when I was up in Auburn for a family event, I figured I would stop by the Goodwill in the area for a pit stop. That was a big mistake. The Goodwill did not provide a great selection like the one by Longston Place on Meridian, but that is not even close to its biggest faults. The staff here is a rough and gruff. They don't seem to care about their jobs at all, or about the people that happily come in to shop at their location. I was in the store for about a half an hour, and within that time I was given dirty looks by two of their employees. At the checkout line to buy the only good pair of shoes I could find, I was given such rude behavior by the woman ringing up my purchase, that I almost wanted to stop the transaction and walk out of the store. I didn't fulfill that quick-tempered urge, but I will be sure to compensate for how I was treated by not ever visiting this location ever again. I will stick to the other Goodwills, where the staff is helpful and the selection is much better. read more

Wow to be told be the manage Nina, that being in the incorrect changing room, it was only for fixtures apparently yet no one was there to help at the dressing rooms, but to be told by the MANAGER NINA that I was "unacceptable "...... don't worry I won't be back for Halloween shopping- I'd rather pay full price that that. Compared to other Goodwills, this one has a pretty poor selection that doesn't seem to turn over very often. Compared to other thrift stores though such as SA or SVDP their prices are WAY high. $5 for a used, corded mouse? Seriously? And if you are looking for any decent electronics, jewelry, clothing, or collectibles - you won't find them in their stores anymore. They sell all of the good stuff on ebay or on their own auction site. Still a good place to go if you want some cheapo clothing and go when they are having a sale but unfortunately the days of finding a treasure at Goodwill are behind us. read more

Big box stores like this should be ashamed of themselves. Over priced goods that are given to them is not how you help those that are struggling. The CEO gets a pretty nice paycheck, they aren't even a non profit organization anymore. Greed is all I can say. Ever notice that the expensive goods are not in the store anymore? That's because they now auction everything to make even more money. I saw a homeless guy trying to steal a used coat because it was cold out. They called the police and tackled him in the parking lot over a 5.00 coat. Stealing isn't right but man adhere to your supposed Moto of helping the community. Please. I hate this store. Their prices on certain items (namely clothing, bicycles, and sometimes electronics) rival department store prices. I thought I was doing something to better my community when I donated some items earlier today but that was not the case. Upon visiting the inside of the store I found that alot of the items that were donated were hugely marked up. I understand that Goodwill is a business and has to turn a profit in order to do business but this is ridiculous. For example I found a pair of jeans from this Goodwill that costed $30. A pair of jeans from Goodwill should never cost this much. Ever. You can get new jeans from Walmart at the same price or less. From now on I am donating to another organization. read more
