This particular Goodwill is about 2/3 the size of their larger format stores. The one thing that struck me when I walked through the door was that most of the clothes are hung on circular racks instead of in long rows. At least 2/3 of the store is given over the clothing and the other third off to one side is where you'll find the housewares and furnishings. The prices here are a little higher than those those locations closer to town with T-shirts starting at $5, neckties are $7 and pants starting from $9 to $11. This being a more affluent area, I expected to find some better quality of goods, but that was not the case on my visit. They do have two dressing rooms and two bathrooms that do not require a key. It's worth a visit on Tuesday if you're a senior where you'll save 30%. Otherwise look for the color tags on sale. read more

Says they open at 8 am - I showed up at 8:30 and one of the employees opened the door to let out another employee then shut the door in my face and just looked at me......... he was tall with short hair. We lived in the area, Bee Cave, ~2 years ago and were frequent customers. We have a passion for fashion, quirky, preloved items, and buying used to reduce the waste. We have since moved out of state and on a return trip visited for nostalgia sake today. Upon leaving the parking lot today, a cashier came out and accused my mother of not paying for a purse. I can see other staff members at the front door watching the scene go down, cashier confronting us in the car. A first for us. Cashier decides we paid for our things after looking over our items. So I decide to not just leave and get to the bottom of what made us likely thieves in their eyes. I'm truly curious. We voluntarily go back into the store, showed the merchandise and receipts. Apparently another customer had alerted the goodwill staff to a stolen purse my mother allegedly swiped. The customer, now directly accusing us of stealing, said she had an eye for spotting these types of people. Does she mean thieves or people that don't look like her? She said she saw my mother put on her face mask - what does the mask have to do with this? - and take the purse and leave. My mom is Asian. If you know Asian women, they have an unhealthy obsession with their skin. Mom wears a mask to protect her delicate skin from the sun. Customer then proceeds to say we probably have the stolen purse in the car. We pointed to the allegedly stolen purse sitting still on a shelf in the store. Customer now apologizes and asks to be forgiven. Unbelievable. You may be falsely accused of stealing if you don't have a certain look and/or wear a mask. Most of the staff won't care if you're falsely accused, no one apologized for the error. read more

Great location for real quality items to buy . I find picture frames dishes spa candles and many more. Hit or miss but love great bargains. Amazing finds some are worth $$$ and the manager Kirk is incredible guy. Nice managing this location, I get a few bargains to die for found a piece of China I thought I never find again, seriously! One pro is items are always sold and more items put on the shelves quickly, I saw real nice pots and pans some used and some like new in good condition. Many of the used clothes are placed on the rack ironed and wrinkle free. I enjoy seeking new wall artwork for my place and found beautiful paintings. Clever ways of seeking new arrivals is early morning's is what I recommend to get great bargains when shopping. I highly recommend this location the manager is helpful and eager to assist. Staff are friendly and helpful. Once there was a coffee grinder and wasn't sure if it even worked and the lady at the register said "hey no problem I can plug that in and see if it works!! It did, all good took it home and was clean like new .". Perfect!! read more

I recently visited this goodwill shopping for vintage find and items to resell online, as I do all thrift shops. Every item in this store is priced extremely higher than it used to be. You'd get a better sale price buying new at Nordstrom Rack. There was a pair of used Uggs boots, I swear had a price tag of $69.99, then another pair of used Michael Kors shoes priced at $56.99, and other used worn-down shoes overpriced. Not one pair of shoes were priced under $20. The economy is bad, these items are "donated" to Goodwill, not for selling at brand new retailer prices. I moved on to the Goodwill location on Lake Creek Parkway where their prices were at Used Goodwill prices. I am not sure what the motive is for Lakeway Goodwill to price their item extremely high, especially their shoes other than speculation, they are doing this to reserve certain items for friends/family to come in, at which point the price tag is changer. This is just my speculation; there is no proof of this happening. I pointed it out to the 2 young men at the register, who said the manager prices items. I will NEVER round up to the nearest dollar anymore when shopping Goodwill, I will start donating my valuable to the Salvation Army for people to afford to buy during this rising cost economy. PROS: (1) Clean (2) Very well-organized (3) Dressing rooms aren't locked, like the ones at the big shop in Austin (4) Cashier helpfully pointed out a stain on a clothing article when we were checking out, and asked if we still wanted it. She also offered $1 off, which we accepted. (5) Frequent sales. When we went, white tags were 50% off. CONS: (1) Small. Probably 1/3 the size of the big store in Austin. (2) Overpriced, as other reviewers have noted. This is typical, Goodwills are generally the most expensive of all thrift stores. read more

This location just got a refresh/renovations, it is nicely organized and always has a variety of items and clothes in good shape, and employees are friendly. The donation drop off in the back is easy to get to, I've donated many times and the drill they have is flawless. I saw some old negative reviews and felt compelled to write a positive one since they have sweet employees and are doing their job just fine. read more

As far as a Goodwill goes, I was greeted 3 times from employees leaving, and again when I actually walked into the building. So yes, they are very extremely friendly. But as far as the store goes. Just didn't seem like anything special. No good name brands. Old clothes. Old toys, old kitchen ware. Prices are outstanding though. Cuisinart coffee pot for $8.99! If it works, that's crazy insane. That was probably the only thing going for the store. Clothes were like yard sale items. Clothes that people don't want. I would think boujee Lakeway would have better quality higher end items. read more

Stopped by this location to see what items they will take for donations. I have some fairly new furniture (worth a couple grand) but after remodeling we no longer need them. Before I mentioned what I had the manager - short bald gentleman behind the counter said that this is a "Boutique Goodwill" and are very picky about what they take. Thought that was the funniest thing I have ever heard. I didn't bother bringing anything in, I would rather dump it than give it to Mr. Boutique - 2 stars for making me laugh. read more

One of the better Goodwill locations I have visited. Pretty large store, SUPER organized, and friendly and helpful staff. If shopping, you never know what you are going to come across - a great place to spend some time treasure hunting. Home goods, accessories, but mostly clothing and shoes - especially huge selection for women. Racks and racks of clothes, including items from Target to Banana Republic, many new with tags - all blouses a whopping 8 bucks; and rows and rows of shoes, Nine West and even Vera Wang, unworn and sold at the same price as the other more "broken in" ones. Donating is a breeze. Simply drive around the back of the store and there is a huge bay door open (during business hours) with an attendant available to eagerly unload your vehicle for you and he/she will provide you with a tax receipt. All around, never had a bad experience at this Goodwill. Happy to have one in Lakeway. TIP: They do not accept ceiling fans or light fixtures as donations. [119 in 2015] read more

I go to this Goodwill quite often. Usually the workers and Manager are very nice and helpful. I went several months ago and got there right when they opened the doors. There was a man and woman with a huge stack of blank Goodwill "sold" papers and as things were brought out from the back, they stuck the paper on top and put it in a corner. I know for a fact the sold papers are for when you check out and they give you the paper to tape on the item until it can be picked up. They had a stack of about 50 papers and anything that came out didn't even have a chance to be put onto the floor before they put the paper on the item and claimed it. They tagged just about everything that came out for about 45 minutes. I asked the manager about this and he said that was fine they could do that. I know this is not the policy at other stores. It just shows Goodwill's "policies" are very questionable. read more

I always love donating things that I cannot use anymore to a great place like Goodwill. And I understand people who work there might not be making much money, or it's hot and they don't want to try their hardest on the job. But it really makes an impact when the employee is rude when you pull up to drop something off. I get out of the car, and I am always friendly and say hello and help carry stuff to the donation bins, this man wouldn't say hello, and seemed like he would rather be anywhere else, he was incredibly frustrated at the amount of stuff we brought (about 4 boxes and a bag) knowing that he would have to carry it all in, but yet, i was helping carry the stuff as well. He got frustrated with my grandmother for not climbing into the back of the truck to get stuff out for him. My grandmother is 77 she cannot climb into the back of a truck. I know it is warm outside but at the same time, just put a smile on your face and keep helping the world be a better place... read more

I went to drop off 4 boxes and some other items here. I started unloading some books and went to place them on a box and the person at the store yelled at me to put them in the bins. I did not know that is where they were to be placed. I continued to unload my car and place my items in the bins; however when it got to 2 boxes, I was unable to lift them above my shoulders to get them in the bins. I placed them on the pavement, and again, he yelled at me to put them in the bins. I just ignored him at that time because not even once did he offer to help me when he saw I was struggling. He was throwing things around and I could hear glass breaking in one of the boxes I had left. Why should I donate items if all you guys are doing to do is break it and throw it out? I am so sick and tired of coming here and finding items marked WELL above the original price! I just found a beat up old lantern from wall mart. Originally $7.49 and they priced it at $9.99. Wow!! Just because you run a business in an area that residents are fairly well to do doesn't meant you get to over charge them for stuff. I'll not be donating to them anymore as this is the 3rd time I have come in only to find many over priced used items and several over the original sticker price. read more

Today at 11am I encountered a very rude staff member handling drop off service. He was middle aged and a pretty grumpy fellow. He was pushy that I unload my own vehicle and into what bins to put the items it But that's not the kicker what I witnessed him do with this small framed gal was upsetting She pulled a very heavy bag out of her car and the guy told her that she needed to lift it up into a big bin when she told them it was too heavy he then was very rude to her I can't believe what I witnessed it's one thing for somebody to have compassion and be generous enough to drop off good items but they should not be treated rudely for it read more

This store is so over priced it is ridiculous! Items that are sold at Walmart for 1.00 BRAND NEW are here (used) for 1.00-3.00! Tried to donate some furniture and clothes and waited in line to drop off around back. Line was three cars deep so I decided to get the heavy stuff out and wheel it out of the way, then drive up when it was my turn to donate all together, to keep it fast And things moving. I was told to get back in my car and that they only intake one at a time. I said ok and left the heavy items out of the way so I wouldn't have to load and then unload again. Being next in line now (with no one behind me) I went to get into my car to pull up, an employee came up to and told me to get my stuff off his property and that they didn't want it, that it was a fire hazard (even though it was very out of the way of cars or people). To get out and go, that they are "doing me a favor". No one was after me, so was tempted to just leave it, but decided not to escalate the situation over something so ridiculous. Very disappointed, I have donated to Goodwill for years without any problems. Unfortunately this location couldn't handle the pressure of three cars in a row, and decided to be hostile to someone who was giving them free items so they could sell them and help people. So rude! Everything that I pick up was not marked. No one was around to help me so I went to the cashier. He was having trouble checking someone out so I went to the back and found someone to help. He acted like he didn't want to help but he did and told me that the frame was $8.99. I carried the heavy frame to the front, no help offered and the cashier said that no it was a different price. I told him that the other rude guy said that it was $8.99. He argued with me. They like their dusty frame so much, that I walked out and left it there.
