It's well organized by size. I was greeted at the door. I feel I got a good deal on my purchases. I got some NICE dresses.

appalled that someone is poking holes throught the side of handbags, where a hole would be noticeable and impossible to repair. also be aware that when they have their promotional half off days, returns are not allowed. i had a three day window to return an defective electronic item, and i was not allowed to return it during their sale day. luckily i had one more day in the refund window, but had i not, i might have been stuck with it. they need to adjust their window to accomodate that and let people know of this exclusion. read more

The store is bright, clean, and organized well. Although they don't offer the same discounts (teacher and senior 55+) as the Salvation Army, their prices are lower. My interest was in glass vases for crafting projects, but I actually came across a pair of new capri pants w/the tag still attached. My interaction with the service clerk was pleasant and helpful. I like this goodwill a lot. They often have a great selection of home wares and props for photography. That's what I'm looking for. But my daughters like the clothing selection too. Not 5 star bc it's a tad pricier than nearby thrift stores, unless you get lucky and go on a 50% off day. read more

I was in the area visiting as I live and work in the Clearwater, Florida area (real estate) and I love to shop at thrift stores. I like this location. It's clean, there are great deals, and there are public restrooms. Make sure you sign up for their frequent shopper program which earns you a discount for shopping dollars and donations. Ask about it at the cash register when you are ready to check out. The cashier will ask for your name and phone number. They have great deals and the store is clean. Cashier was very friendly and personable. I thought she was very stylish too. On my last visit I found a nice pair of jeans for $4.99 and a pair of Croft and Barrow boots for $4.99. Mary, the 'Store supervisor' lectured us on where the line begins after we stood at checkout for at least 10 minutes before anyone even stepped up to the checkout, when she walked up to the other counter. We said we didn't know where the line started but we had been waiting. When we set the clothes down she loudly said "JESUS!" And when we were offended I asked what her name was. Which she responded "you don't need to know my name!" Then started yelling at my mother and when I told my mother not to engage in rude employees she yelled back that they don't need rude customers buying their merchandise. We put our clothing choices down and left while she was still yelling at us out the door. I got in my car and called the store asking for the store manager and was told that the woman we just had this horrible exchange with was the "store supervisor" and I gave my phone number and asked for a call back from her boss. Let's see if we hear anything. No hope to hear from them since this is their "supervisors" behavior read more

I am very disappointed in this store. Whoever is doing the pricing has gone crazy. The prices are outrageous! They try and sell dollar store stuff at high prices as well. At least it is somewhat cleaned up. Some of the stuff you can buy cheaper brand new. Come on people, you get this stuff free! At least throw out the broke stuff! read more

I enjoy going to thrift stores and finding hidden treasures - since this place opened up; I always wanted to browse around but never had the time. **UNTIL NOW!!!! Since this is a busy place at least at the time I arrived - it seems closed but they were opened and as I entered I was greeted by someone in back since through she was busy. She stopped what she was doing to informed me of the sales going on and if I needed any assisted; also as I was shopping she checked on me again. The store seemed to be very organized and cleaned; I will be back for browsing. Please note - they have a frequent membership card if you shop there a lot. 2/19/22 today I dropped off 7 bags of clothes. When the guy was unloading my bags from the back seat, he picked up my purse from the floor and put a bag on top of it and dropped it in the cart. What he didn't count on is the strap coming from under the bag and I saw my purse. I was appalled buy grabbed my purse. He apologized buy I was done at that point. I gave the rest of the bags to him and left. Beautiful cause to give but to try to steal from me left a bad taste in my mouth and a bad memory of my 1st experience. Questionable business practices and false advertising! During checkout this evening I was told that I had to pay full price for a pair of worn donated shoes at the 50% off all donated goods, all stores event (see pic.) I asked why and was told that the manager said so. The manager was called to the check out and she stated that the worn shoes I had were full price because they were exempted from the sale as they fall into another category of merchandise, and that the register would not allow the 50% off. I asked to see what she had stating the exemption. She was not able to show anything. I did not purchase the shoes. I was told that the same thing happened to another customer earlier. Goodwill Livonia Store, please fix your business practices and provide full disclosure in the advertisement that is posted at the register as your customers are being misled. The lady at checkout was very pleasant and speedy, which gave this rating another star. read more

Update: I meant to re-write this a long time ago but this I have to say this is the best thrift store I've ever been too. The selection and the prices and their rewards program and god the 99cent section. I live in Georgia now and visited all 3 Goodwills near me and they don't compare. I miss this Goodwill so much. Very clean store but the racks are packed. I've stopped at opening hours, during the week, on the weekend and one thing remains the same---overloaded racks. A rack meant for 30 items is packed with 59 items. The West Bloomfield location is much more refined and not as cramped and overstuffed. I have found a few random items but nothing to rave about for this location. read more

Solid three stars. Like the drop off. It's a drive through and an employee is sitting in an air conditioned area ( which I appreciate for them ). Perused the store, actually only needed a costume type shirt for my daughter she found right away. There's stuff still in packages, cheap dollar store stuff. No price tags, colored plastic things that I wasn't aware of the system for. Upon check out I was told to pick out another shirt ( without being told why ) and since the employee was a little bit intimidating I went in search for another item. This was hard to do, selection was blah. Turns out, shirts were BOGO so whatevs. Store is clean though, air conditioned and equipped with flat screens. I've done my due diligence, but unless I'm desperate, I'll probably skip it. read more

There was not another car in site. Because I had a big donation I pulled into the drive with the passenger door closest to the door to the facility. I thought this would make it easier for the men to unload. I was at the door and they refused my donation because I had not pulled in the way they thought I should. They waved their arms and motioned me to back up and pull around in the way they wanted even though it would have been more inconvenient for them. Still no other cars in site. The smart thing to do would have been to accept the donation and then tell me that I had not pulled in in the way they wanted. Salvation Army from now on. read more

I've gotten so much good stuff here, and the store is pretty clean too. Clothes are pretty cheap so I've gotten a good portion of my wardrobe from this store. Also they had a $2 clothing sale one day I went, it was awesome! read more

One of the nicer Goodwill stores I've been to, their showroom is very clean and well organized, with everything placed in an orderly fashion for display. The store is well lit, they had a good selection of items, and everything was fairly priced. When we checked out, the lady at checkout was super-friendly. read more

I have been going to the Goodwill in Livonia since they opened and have experienced pretty good customer service overall. However, there is one young man who deserve personal recognition for his customer service skills. His name is Dave Hudson. I don't know Dave personally but I've had the pleasure of being serviced by Dave on numerous occasions and each time, his service is exemplary. He is so cordial and polite, with such a kind and pleasant spirit, demeanor and tone. I have watched him service others and he's the same with everyone. Always so willing to help even when he's not on the register. Good customer service is hard to find these days and exemplary customer service is nearly unheard of. Dave breaks the mold. He should be training others around and about the Metro area on how to provide excellent customer service. I don't always find a treasure at Goodwill but boy, do they have a treasure in Dave. He has a very serving spirit and I'm sure the angels and the Creator are proud. Goodwill, you should be too. Hats off to Dave! Keep up the excellent work! read more

On the plus side, the store is clean and the employees are exceptionally friendly and helpful. There is always lots of merchandise and it's fun looking for treasures. On the down side, I've noticed that prices are creeping up, especially on women's clothing. You can purchase new clothing for the same price if you catch a good sale. Also, I often see used items that I recognize as dollar store merchandise that is marked more than a dollar! I will continue to shop here, but I am always careful when checking prices. read more
