This was a very large Goodwill store. We went on a Sunday and man was it busy. Next time I'll be back on a weekday!

In my opinion, thrift stores today are way overpriced and this store is no exception. Many items cost the same as they would retail and sometimes even more. While it's not as pricey as Value Village the selection is not as great either. I go here because there is no other game in town of truly thrifty th of truly thrifty thrift stores. read more

This is my favorite goodwill out of all the 2 goodwill's in Lacey. It's hit and miss but more hits than miss. I always find great children's clothes that are hardly worn. Brands from Gymboree, Osh Kosh to the gap. They usually has 50% off on major holidays like Labor Day or Memorial Day . read more

It's a good location. A little tough to get in-and-out of but by far one of the most picked-over Goodwills I've ever been to.

While browsing this Goodwill store I came upon a pair of sneakers on the shoe aisle that were encrusted with mud. Assuming that someone had stolen a good pair and left their ruined ones I took them to the back of the store and handed them to an employee with my theory. He said, no these were put on the floor for sale, I said but that cannot be for they have not been cleaned. He said we don't clean anything we put out on the floor. I was very surprised as I thought there were disadvantaged people that were given jobs to prepare items for sale in the Goodwill stores. This means of course that if you buy bedding at a Goodwill store and the house it came from is infested with bedbugs or whatever that you will be be bringing these pests home to your house! Hats could have lice. Shoes athletes foot fungus, etc. Think twice about shopping at thrift stores and ask what their cleaning policy is before you shop. These shoes that prompted this review were not just stained, they were ENCRUSTED with mud, dried crusted thick mud on the sides and bottom, I could not believe that anyone would put these out for sale. The employees I encountered did not seem in anyway mentally impaired, I grew up with a sibling that happens to have Downs Syndrome so I know of what I speak. read more

I don't shop at this goodwill most of the time unless I just need simple household stuff like hangers or odds and ends. The store is big but there are rarely finds in this store unless maybe your looking for furniture or stuff thats to big to sell online. I equate it to finding a needle in a haystack. Most of the designer items are sorted out long before they hit the floor to go to the Tacoma Goodwill online shop or Goodwill ebay. Those that do hit the floor usually have flaws and are overpriced. Their overall prices of what I consider "junk" is extreme. $20 for a beat up blender. J Crew dress for $20. If it has a tag on it it forget about buying it as they charge as much or more than you can buy that same item for new in the store for. You can actually buy most clothing items for less at the consignment shops. On the upside the store is pretty clean and employees are fast and friendly. read more

It's a big, organized store. Its low prices and quality products make shoppers fill shopping carts. There's always someone on the floor to help a customer. read more

Dumpy store. I've donated a lot of stuff at this location but don't know where it went...not here. Mens clothing is in much better shape and better selection at Value Village. read more

I love Goodwill especially this store. I always find exactly what I am looking for. My mom use to drive from Tacoma just to this store alone to find her deals. They have all of my Oregon Ducks gear as well as my seahawks gear. I ALWAYS find NorthFace, VS, Abercrombie and Hollister at this location. I went to return a coffemaker from the Olympia goodwill which, when I tried to use it, made a complete mess of coffeegrounds and water. I figured that it was probably missing a part because I could see an area on it where it would have occupied an attachment. I returned it within the 7 days of their return policy, but they refused to reimburse me because I was 3 or 4 hours past the 7 day mark. I drove through friday evening traffic on the westside, 25 minutes away from home to return the coffeemaker because I didn't want to lose the $10 it cost me, and I ended paying to go clear over there for nothing. When the employee told me they would not reimburse, I told her they may as well keep the coffeemaker as it's of no use to me (and by the way, I'm not an idiot. I've owned several coffeemakers, so I do know how to operate one) and she seemed shocked that I left it on the counter (I don't want a useless coffeemaker taking up room in my garage). I also had an experience at the same goodwill about 14 years ago where I was using the dressing room and in the midst of trying on clothes I looked up and saw a man watching me from the ceiling rafters. I hurredly got dressed and went to wait in line for my purchase, all the while looking up at him, who, upon my realization of him watching me, suddenly went back to work and then climbed off the ladder and dissapeared. He was obviously supposed to be working on a ceiling light fixture but wasn't. I was too embarrassed to report it, but I'll bet he was more embarrassed to get "caught". And my husband made me feel even better by saying that they will most likely put the coffeemaker on the shelf and get someone to buy it again. I will never shop in that store again. Ever. And the prices ARE too high! I can take the same amount of money and get something for new at their other store, Walmart. Ridiculous! read more

The clerk had a bit of an attitude when I returned some items with chips in them- I tried to explain to her why I was returning them and she said it didn't matter because they were going back out on the floor anyway...I asked " the broken ones?" and she snottily informed me that yes, those would be resold. I don't get it...who would purposely pay full price for broken dishes? If they must sell broken items why not discount them in a separate part of the store at least? Are they trying to fool us with dishes taped together with chipped ones in the middle? I really dislike how they tape the items together because there is always a throw away or two- I can't return the broken ones unless I return the whole set...maddening.. While I'm on a role with my complaining, they're over priced as well. I understand what the person who said that they feel like they have to apologize for buying things means because I do as well- even when paying full price. I always laugh when I buy a whole cartload of glassware and they ask me if I would like it wrapped ( sometimes they don't even ask) and then act all put out because I say yes. Some of the clerks are not the friendliest and act like it's the end of the world to have to do things like wrap dishes- which is part of their job. Goodwill better train them better about "attitude" and "customer service" . I spend hundreds a month at thrift stores and this is not my favorite location, but I still go occasionally. read more
