This location is great for books. Many other goodwill locations have cut their book section in half, but not this one. This location has the same amount of shelves and a good selection. They also have a rolling cart with more books on it too. The downside is the parking lot. They have a limited number of parking spots and the spaces are small. read more

I have shopped and donated here before and today's experience solidifies my decision to never donate again. I donated here because of the ease and location but I'll gladly drive to a local animal shelter thrift store or WEAVE. I had a small bag of three washed and neatly folded pants. I was trying to remove them and the guy said, "I can dump it". I keep trying to remove the pants so they could be nicely folded, but no - he literally yanks the bag out of my hand, dumps the items in their donation bag, and gave me my bag back. First time this location and overall it's a pretty nice Goodwill. It doesn't look like it's going to be very big, but the space is a decent size, and it's organized fairly well. Everything seemed to be fairly priced, we got a brand new 4K movie for $6.99, and most of the books were $2.99 or under. We didn't use the bathrooms, so I can't vouch for them, but the overall store was about what you expect for Goodwill cleanliness wise. read more

I don't know the guy's name, he's bald, but he's the one that collects donations. For some odd reason, he tends to have an attitude. I mean every time. Great Goodwill location at the old Natural Foods Co-op lot. Love their kitchen, book, and oddments sections. Furniture is always worth a look. They have two nice dressing rooms for clothing try-ons. Reasonable prices. The wait in line can be long but it's worth it. Parking lot makes it easy to get in and out. Definitely give it a shot. read more

This particular location is very organized and clean. I love that they're security walking throughout the entire store to ensure safety. There's a section to the right when you walk in dedicated to books. There's also plenty of clothing to go through and in the back there's home good items and furniture. Young lady who works the register here who has a very peculiar way of carrying herself. With *certain* customers, she is friendly, warm, and accommodating. BUT: If you do not possess the "correct" inalienable features, she will treat you horribly. I have watched & waited for months to make this review, and am only doing so now after witnessing countless interactions with individuals of the same background having issues with her, while those who share her features are consistently helped and treated well. She has refused to open the bathroom for me on multiple occasions, and it was only when I grabbed another employee that I was made aware that it is available for customer use daily and they are happy to open it up for customer use. She has cut me off in various shopping aisles and gone so far as shoulder-checking me while browsing the aisle on a quiet phone call, not paying attention. I thought nothing of it the first few times, I really don't need any positive interactions with staff to enjoy my shopping trips. But when you're so blatant with your bigotry time after time, people cannot help but notice. There are a few members of staff who engage in this behavior very openly and unapologetically, I am guessing there is a culture of acceptance towards this amongst staff. Please save your personal and political views for personal time at home, not representing a national organization. This particular young lady is the only one who has ever initiated physical contact with me but I have been made to feel very unwelcomed by multiple members of staff. I was there recently and asked this young woman if the bathroom was open. She rolled her eyes, refused to respond and just waved a hand in my face as if to insinuate they're already open and I was dumb for asking. Well, walked over and funny thing: they weren't open. I have never seen such a look of disgust and hatred in my entire life than when she had to do something for me, while on the clock, at her literal job that pays her LMFAO. Opening a bathroom door for someone you're discriminating against (THE HORROR!!). This store is absolutely not worth the headache, so just know, if you're of the wrong background: the staff are going to do everything in their power to mistreat you and make your experience at their store miserable. read more

Solid Goodwill! The findings varies. I've been here 4ish times in the last 3 months. Only once did I leave with a solid haul. Here's my summary: - business causal section is good. Prices range $10-$14 for jcrew/ann taylor. - athleisure wear section is good. I've seen lululemon and got my leggings here for $10. - limited furniture section - very chaotic kitchen/household item section. never actually bought anything from this section. This is a well stocked goodwill yessir. It's sorted well too, mostly. By size and by color. Mostly by color. If you're digging for deals just ignore the size separators. Customers do their own reshelfing like any store so it's impossible to keep up. But I found some adidas for 5 bucks, right before I found out my old full-price 60 dollar ones have a hole in the down below area. Good timing I guess. Also several other things for half off. I don't think goodwill in Sac does the two dollar sales like they do in LA but half off isn't bad. I refuse to pay more than like seven bucks for any item at a thrift store. Bought two pieces of furniture. They said I c/pick up next day. Returned with receipt in hand. The items were not pulled but in fact were retagged w/ a lower price than what I paid. The homewares section could be better organized, but they seem to be pretty high traffic so I'm sure it's hard to keep up with people rummaging through. This is one of those POSH Goodwill stores. A more higher end, well heeled and better quality of items. It may not have an expansive collection, but what they have is well organized and presented. It's rare to find a thrift store that sells good ol' fashioned thrift store prices, but gotta give it up to the Goodwill, great prices! 3 to 5 dollars for shirts, dresses etc. We found great clothing items for a Halloween costume and spent less than 40! Solid Goodwill! We went in on a late afternoon weekday and stayed there for a few hours. Staff was efficient and fellow thrifters were so friendly. Between me and my friend, we got 6 items for summer/fall for about $40 total! They definitely pay attention to brands and tags when marking prices at this Goodwill. When looking at faux leather jackets, more familiar names like Jessica Simpson were marked higher, and one jacket that still had the new tags attached was marked for $30. A quick google search showed that it was basically retail price! Overall, this store has a lot of selection and if you take your time to dig, it's easy to find some gems worth your money. read more

This review is strictly for the drop-off process. The drop-off area is behind the store, so the best way to get there is through the parking lot and making a left at the end. There is parking available, but when I arrived, I was told to pull into the two spots directly in front of the open door to unload. An attendant was there with a dolly to house any items you have. Once you're done, you have the option to receive a receipt. Otherwise, you're set! My drop off was quick, easy, and painless. read more

Nice and new location. Used to be the Co-Op. The bathrooms are still fresh. There is plenty of parking in the Lot. There is a large selection of purses and jewelry locked up. Also some cell phone cases. The Women's section is vast and they have their own dressing rooms. The shoes are like new and very desirable. The PJ and athletic wear are near the children's clothing. They have a huge bin of wallets and another of gloves. There are many purses hanging on racks. I would return and make more purchases. read more

Goodwill and this store in particular have drastically raised their prices. a pair of used brand name pants for 12.99/14.99 . long sleeve t-shirts for 9.99. Items that they think are valuable but are not. They get these items for free. yes i can't understand making a profit but this is taking advantage of their customers, most of whom are mid- to low income. Get real goodwill. read more

I will never donate at this place again. I went to donate and unfortunately the big large Goodwill truck pulled up at the same time. One of the workers asked if I could wait 20-30 minutes for them to unload their truck first and I said yes. I waited an entire hour before finally leaving. The truck had been unloaded and was just sitting there. The driver of the truck kept looking in the parking lot to see if I was still there and never said anything. So I just decided to leave, only to find a line of other cars waiting as well. Very unprofessional and lack even the slightest customer service. I went over to Goodwill on Alta Arden, drove in, they unloaded, drove out all within 7 minutes. The guy there was very nice and helpful. read more

Wow!wow! wow! That's what my husband and I kept saying here today to each other. First off its the old Natural Food Co-op. If you used to shop there think of how big that store was. No imagine it being nothing but wall to wall of great deals from shoes to home decor. Dressing rooms are huge and clean. The line might be long due to it being new location. Everything is fully stocked color coordinated. A lot of their clothes are brand new with tags on them. I got a pair of black booties brand new that retail for $75 for $5.00. You do the math. If it makes sense to you stop getting ripped off and get to good will. A lot of name brand clothes fir men women and children. The home section is very well organized and great prices. For example I bought wireless head set radio shack brand for $4(today is Christmas EVERYTHING IS 50%). I also got 2 framed pieces by Lynn Fecteau. If you don't know who that is google her. Her art posters cost $75/each. I got 2 huge pieces (framed) for a whopping $15. See the prints in my pics. The good the bad and NO UGLY. On Sundays certain color tags are HALF OFF! The day after Christmas (happens to be today) EVERYTHING IS HALF OFF!!! Its a win win situation. I've been to majority of the Goodwill locations in Sacramento, and this new location is definietly UP THERE. And I mean that in many ways. As in selection of women's clothing, kitchenware, houseware, Christmas decor, bedding/tablecloths, and also in PRICE. Prices are a tad (just about a $1-$3 more) than other Goodwill's I've been to. Many times during my visit, I'd have to take a double look at the price of a plate (dishware) and notice it was priced at $4.99-$5.19. Now, at that point, I'd rather go to Ross/TJMaxx/Marshalls once seeing prices like that for random small dishes. However, the selection is very large, inventory is at its prime, and the book "nook," is quite darling. Natural lighting from all sorts of directions. +Private parking lot available +Clean +Organized +Plenty of carts for everyone +Many fitting rooms, that are def up the the cleanest standards for thrift stores. Just a few cons: -Prices a tad higher than other thrift stores -Vinyl selection is still small. -Furniture selection a bit weak. Overall, I'll still keep this location on my thrift store rotation.
