For instance I found 2 sets of children's pajamas, same brand, same size, one was $2 more. When I walked to checkout, noticed a sign that says "cashiers cannot change prices". This is the only store I've seen have that rule. When I asked if they accept military discount, they said no, they do not accept any additional discounts to include students & seniors as well. That's wild to me, this is the first thrift store I've EVER seen do that. Cash only, there are (2) atms inside $3.50 fee. I only came to check out the place, yes I sound picky but just comparing to other places as an avid thrifter. From now on I'll stick to my usual spots.

These items are donated 100% free of charge, yet many are priced as if they're brand new--or even more expensive than buying them new on sale at a retail store. The whole purpose of a thrift store is to make secondhand items affordable while supporting the community. Instead, it feels like someone with no understanding of value is pricing these donations based on wishful thinking rather than reality. I've seen chipped home décor, worn clothing, used kitchen items, and damaged furniture with price tags that made me laugh out loud. At these prices, I'd rather spend a few dollars more and buy something brand new with a warranty and the ability to return it. Goodwill has forgotten what made people love thrift stores in the first place. Until pricing becomes reasonable again, I'll gladly take my business to local thrift stores where donated items are actually priced like donated items.
