I really like this location simply for the breadth of choices available - it's HUGE. That said, because it's huge it's also packed with people. I went just last week and though employees and patrons alike were masked, I was almost uncomfortable with how many people were there, and this was midday on a weekday. I can't imagine a weekend. Prices are higher than other goodwill locations in my opinion, with jackets ranging $20-$30 and sweaters and pants in the $7-$15 range. The book area was very well organized and fairly priced, but I was expecting a larger selection considering the store size. The managers here are total jokes. I bought some items that were tagged at 1.79. Manager pulled them off and said this was not the price . She was a total witch. This was one of the cleanest and most organized Goodwill I have ever been to. The clothes section was organized by style (ex. dress, long sleeves, 'fashion focus' [brand name clothes], and etc), size, and then color. Their warehouse is so huge. I felt like I was walking into a Walmart, but with discounted prices. They also had an antique section along with a furniture area with home goods. I was surprised to see they even sold game consoles and even instruments like working drums. They also had a variety of brand new, never opened appliances and cooking tools. My favorite section was the clothes, I tried at least 40 different things and ended up finding really good. I wished the prices were a little less. I paid $9.99 for a second hand dress which seems really pricey. I was also disappointed they don't have a rewards program like Hawaii Goodwill has. One good thing about them is that the color tag of the day is usually in one area so you can find it easily. I would come here again. read more

At specific times of the year, Goodwill opens it's doors to the good stuff. What do I mean? It's the stuff that Macklemore sings about.. considering that I'm pretty sure that he shot some of the Thrift Shop video at this location, it's the sale that you want to go to. Have you ever imagined what happens to the LV bags, gold jewelry, dresses or designer clothing ends up, when people donate it, it gets shelved here for this special moment. You might see people lined up from the previous day, to get to the best pieces, it's like a treasure trove of second hand premium items; I dare say, you might find something that you will be selling on eBay the next day for a heftily profit. What you are also doing, is supporting the programs of Goodwill; which help people find jobs and careers, and for many, learn basic skills for the workplace. I I recommend coming early of the event, or even the day before, if you want first pick at all the goodies. If you know what you want, and head to it first, I will bet you will walk away from something special, and of incredible value. read more

I shop at this Goodwill most frequently of them all, and I have a soft spot for it. There's just so much product to look at, I usually come away with a lot of good finds. I've found some of my favorite furniture here. I've included a photo of my kitchen and literally everything in it from knick knacks to flowerpots to furniture is from this store. You have to really sort thoroughly to find the treasures here, but that's part of the fun. If I were identifying some of the store's weaknesses, I'd say that employees who are stocking things tend to barrel through with carts or racks full of hangers without saying excuse me or letting a customer go first. Also it can be frustrating to shop the racks and see a lot of clothing in the wrong places, like children's wear in the adult section. Overall, it's a good shopping experience, and a mainstay for me when I'm looking for just about anything ranging from work clothes to books to furniture. The secret is to go without anything in particular in mind, and you'll be surprised at what you find. read more

I've been shopping here since the mid 70s, back when people were ashamed to go to thrift stores. So I kind of hate to write a horrible review of the big Seattle Goodwill. The prices, which, you know, are the reason people go to thrift stores, are ridiculously high, often higher than retail. Today I was looking for a surge protector, Goodwill had several dirty used ones which may or may not work when you take them home for $12.95. It was very sunny, and I thought I would grab a baseball cap for my eyes. $7.99 for stupid baseball caps. Anything they are able to value is sold at least at a retail rate. For used stuff. That you have to paw around for a half hour to find. Doesn't make sense. If any treasures slip by them, they are very few and far between. The age in Seattle when a collector could find great ceramics, paintings, danish modern furniture, silver jewelry, cool and crazy junk, is gone. Instead, Goodwill sells the cool stuff online. You can't go to the store and see silver jewelry. Even though they sell costume for the same price as their silver stuff goes for online, there isn't anything good to look at in the store. The one exception is some clothing. If you hit things right, and go through everything, you can walk out with some deals. I like Nordstrom cotton shirts and I can find those in good condition for 9.99, or sometimes less if there's a tag sale. Pants too. Stained, shrunken, sweaters have always been ridiculously overpriced. Shoes are also ridiculous. Message to Goodwill: People don't go to thrift stores for the ambiance. Or because they like feeling dirty after looking at racks of used clothes. They go to find something cool and at a price that makes them feel lucky. That's what it's about. Take that away, and there's no point. People carry around super computers in their pockets. We know how much a surge protector goes for on Amazon. Quit squeezing every dime you can. You are going to lose all your customers, and are taking advantage of the ones who still shop there and don't realize they are overpaying. I used to shop here weekly. I'd leave with a piled up cart. But after 55 years of going to this store, I kick myself every time I go in, which is rarer and rarer. What a great thank you to the community from Goodwill. read more

They get the vast majority of their goods for free through donations. But now they've changed their schedule so that Seniors and Military are only discounted on the first Wednesday of the month instead of every Wednesday. Were they losing money? A billion dollar 'non-profit' can't give seniors and military a discount every Wednesday anymore. I'm a former employee I know how much product they move and receive on a daily basis. They are not hurting by any means. There is no reason for this change. Largest eBay store of any Goodwill in the nation, wonder why you can't find as many gems in Seattle stores anymore all 'valuable' stuff goes online to sell for a larger 100% profit. read more

Do you even thrift? I have been to this Goodwill a few times... This place has everything you need except for food. Great selection on clothes, electronics, Halloween costumes, kitchen supplies, books, movies, kids toys, prom dresses, holiday decorations, shoes, etc. This Goodwill is gigantic! Set aside plenty of time. Parking can be tight, but I always find a spot the first time around. I check the clothes before I purchase to make sure there's no tears or stains, as purchases at thrift store. I rarely am looking for anything other than clothes, so this has always been a worthwhile stop for me. Always enjoyed the great prices, great service, if you're lucky the great deals they got there. I've bought a brand new with color-of-the-week (Monday ONLY) for $1.79. Where else can you find great deals like that!!? I know people complain a lot and feel awkward shopping in a thrift store, but why would you spend $25 - $30 on a shirt when you could buy one for $5 (it might not be new). You can find some awesome stuff here, you just have to be patient and spend the time to look through everything. I don't have to much to complain about... It's big. It has this intoxicating, old grandma thickness in the air. Parking was easy enough. Just on size alone selection (or the appearance of) is going to be big. I was only looking for possible additions, enhancements or otherwise "wow, even better" pieces to my Halloween costume, but as I browsed through section by section I was not superbly impressed. As Dawn, Delilah and I strolled around I just could not picture myself shopping here regularly enough to 'score'. Perhaps if it was some mega sale day I would feel differently. I'm going to start this review with the Yelp prompt: "My all-time favorite boutique in the neighborhood." It's not really a boutique, of course, but it's so well organized it really rises above what one usually thinks of when you think of second hand stores. The clothing is well organized by size, and the different store sections are clearly marked. Things aren't crammed together in a dirty jumble - there's plenty of space to move around and to find things. It's got loads more than just clothes - this goodwill is huge, and has separate rooms for furniture, housewares, books, and so on. The selection is immense, to the point where it's worth make a special trip to shop here once in a while. On our last visit, we scored a new Monopoly set, a pile of awesome books (Hey, Jack Kerouac!), Steve Madden shoes, a dress, some vintage drawer lining paper, and Steve Martin's Let's Get Small on vinyl ("One show ... goodbye!"). There's plenty of parking and easy freeway access when you're done. read more

This has got to be the largest Goodwill I've ever come across. It's practically a factory with two interconnected buildings separated into wearables and home items. On a mission to find 100% Cotton denim, I knew I came to the right place when I saw organized rows of the denim selection. The dressing room wait was a little long for the few items I had- they had three express (5 items or less) fitting rooms and (4?) regular fitting rooms. People literally go in with boatloads of clothes so I think they may need to build a few more fitting rooms to offset the wait time. I tried to return an item mis-purchased at the Federal Way Goodwill location. The customer service representative said that he couldn't do it because some Goodwill's are another entity of barcode systems. *Shrugs* If you have the stamina to needle-in-a-haystack through their collection of items, I'm sure you can walk out with a bounty of treasures (especially on the color ticket sale days)! This place is not for the weak-of-thrifting, it's noisy and completely overwhelming. P.S. - Somewhere around a two block vicinity, I was told there's another Goodwill location where you can buy clothes by the pound. These are clothes that aren't worth featuring individually on hangers and they leave them in containers to shift through with a stick. Definitely not recommending but just letting you know, such a place does exist. read more

So, I will just reiterate what others have said. This Goodwill is EXPENSIVE. I went there last Saturday and the average shirt on the rack is 5.99. Seriously, for a used shirt? I can go to target, ross, hell, pretty much anywhere and get that new on the clearance rack. I dont understand why they have to price the heck out of everything. i understand that the business is to keep their employees working and give them good job training and skills but with these crazy prices, they are going to price themselves out of a job. Seriously! They wanted 19.99 for a pair of Joe Jeans that were ripped in two places. 4.99 for a pair ot Toddlers Adidas Capris. Seriously, I can and will get them new at Ross, Marshalls, etc from now on. I It pisses me off that people who normally cant afford decent clothes have nowhere to go now to buy clothing and other household items for a decent price. This store appears to be catering to boutiques and other "pickers" or "buyers" who come and buy the stuff and resell it at their own stores. There are still normal people who just need a good deal, Goodwill. For this reason, I will be donating my used goods to Salvation Army or Value Village. This goodwill locations online business is a joke. I have had so many issues with their ecommerce department. They have cancelled multiples items on me claiming the items were lost, when they were the only items they obviously underpriced. When an item was lost in transit they told me it was basically not their problem, it took 2 weeks of back and forth until they finally agreed to refund me after I said I would file a chargeback. Terrible customer service, horribly ran, I will not do business with them anymore. read more

I'm a huge fan of consignment and secondhand stores and love the idea of giving clothes a second life. Pros: This store is huge so if you want to spend hours and hours flipping through racks and getting a good shoulder workout, this is the place for you! Cons: While I've definitely scored some goodies here, these finds are rare and everything at this Goodwill seems way over priced. $30 for a pair of used Topshop jeans with a stain on them, when I could buy the same jeans NEW from Nordstrom Rack for $35. $20 for a J-CREW factory sweatshirt. In general, I find it's much easier to snag deals on sites like eBay or Poshmark than coming to Goodwill Seattle. That being said, I always enjoy the thrill of the hunt here. When you DO find the needle in a haystack score-of-a-century deal, it feels pretty good! read more

Oh. My. God!! This place is the best secondhand store i have been to! The selection is amazing, the clothing are color coded, whatt?? That is perfect since i would rather get the right color in the wrong brand than vice versa. Seriously. My first time visiting this store, i went to check out the Fashion Focus section. I needed items for work such as blouses and a more professional looking top. I found so many amazing thing, it is not funny anymore. Banana Republic, Ann Taylor.. the brands i like, but not necessarily buy at their store. The next time i visited on a Monday during their $1.79 sale. My oh my the deals are even better. Because they have so much selection, I had to limit myself to that week's tag only to maximize savings. I found work pants and skirt that looks professional. The best thing I score was a blazer/coat thingy... Never owned anything like that before, and I don't think I can pay full price at the store. Easily the largest thrift store that i've been to. More of a warehouse that has a plethora of items from clothing to shoes, kitchen ware to electronics, books and vinyls to toys and plenty of knickknacks. I've gone here to find oddball items like a Super 8mm film projector and found that. Found great throwback clothing items for a 90s party as well as decor and party ware that I wasn't concerned if they broke or not. I've found a great selection of vinyls and music as well to add to my collection all for a fraction of the price compared to other local shops. Overall - it's a great place to find oddball items. Not everything seems to be a steal of a deal but if you're willing to hunt for specifics you can typically find a good deal. Just be patient with the process and you just gotta check every now and then for what you're looking for as they get new stuff on the daily. read more

Love the convenience of being able to drop the items off without having to walk/drag all my donation goodies inside the store! This goodwill is located just a bit of I-5 highway and is super convenient. For the past weeks that I have been trying to move from one place to another, I have accumulated so much stuff that I would like to donate (computer, TV, games, clothing, furniture, lamps, shirts, bed sheets, etc) and was worried that it would be such a hassle to have to carry big boxes in and out of the places just to go donate. Luckily, I remembered having gone to Goodwill on my previous visit, so I decided to stop by there to check out their donation drop off. To my surprise, the drop off was completely hassle free. You just drive up the corner and drop the items off next to the tent outdoor. Within a few minutes, I was done with donation and out doing my other errands! Super convenient! What can I say, I've fallen in love. I used to be dating this Goodwill and sometimes it would annoy me and I would need some distance. But now, I can't stop. I swoon, I touch her inappropriately in public, I can't go for more than a few days without yearning to roam her aisles. It may be sad, but it's true. I will admit that to me, a groovy Friday is cruisin' the furniture section at this Goodwill. I love that there is no pretense here, there is no attempt to be hip and classier than she is. No, this Goodwill is authentic and earnest.
