This is the first time I've done this Goodwill, and I was very disappointed. I was confused by the layout of the store, and I didn't like the tightness of some of the aisles. Items on shelves were very cluttered and disheveled. I used a dressing room to try on a couple of tops, and noticed there were multiple door handles, lock fixtures that needed to be adjusted. There was also a very bad smell in the dressing room I used. Sadly, I didn't even find much of anything to buy. I won't be back to this location. read more

Overpriced. $75.00. $39.99, $49,99 for pictures, some of the clothes are 18.99. The highest I've seen was $500 for a statue that sit for nearly two months. Furthermore, stop marking the lamps at 29.99- 39,00 only for the employees to use their discounts and purchase the item for much less, then after talking about it on the floor. (I do have the rest of the clips, but here is a peep of the video). This is a management issue at this point. I don't want to hear there's something is wrong with their pricing scanner, unless Goodwill is hiring the visually impaired to mark items. You can fix up your store, make it organize, clean it and it still won't matter if your overly priced with used items, dealing with employee bad attitudes and entering a non-friendly store. you will not get a welcome at this store by the women. Extremely rude people. One lady trying to tell me what to do with my cart when I stepped 5ft away. Then at the register she decided to try to get someone else to ring me up saying she was going on her break. That lady, Nicole, was extremely rude. Barely any acknowledgment. I had a coupon that i was TOLD BY THEM it was valid on Tuesday with no expiration date mentioned. She told me it "says right there" and that it's expired and I told her I was told incorrect dates and not told anything about it by THEM. She ended up THROWING my change and receipt down at me and just left the clothes a disarray on the counter. I used to go here cause it was the closest location however I will not be anymore. Goodwill is like treasure hunting. You can find good stuff and most often just some crap. I saw lots of low ratings. I dont understand why people could consider rating this one star when its a trift store and they expect to buy designer shoes for a trift price? Ive been to this place several times. Don't donate here and definitely do not shop here. The bathrooms are so disgusting, I have not seen so much poop in one place. The employees are rude and the manager Diane is the worst of them all. Do not complain or make suggestions. Goodwill is a billion dollar business that takes advantage of the system. This particular store really didn't have much to offer. I'm sure you heard the saying "One Man's Junk is Another Man's Treasure". Well in this case I can tell you it was all JUNK. From time to time you can pick up some pretty nice things, but you need to sort through piles and piles of crap. One thing I always look for are paperback books ($0.99) from a select group of authors that I haven't read or DVD's ($1.99) that I haven't seen. Once in a while you will find some decent clothes or nick knacks, but for the most part it's. Just like all thrift stores, some days you score, and some days you don't. I've been coming to this Goodwill since they opened, and the prices have gone up so dramatically, which is a shame. It is relatively organized which is nice. I usually come once a month just to see what they have. are used to come out with bags of goodies and now I usually leave empty-handed. Once in a while, I will find some thing worth my while. I will say the employees are grown up iPad babies with no personalities. I went up to check out today, and was not even greeted with a hello even when I said hello!!!. The guy just had a scowl on his face and grabbed my item and scanned it. The only thing he said to me was when he asked if I had a rewards number. That's literally it! No 'thank you' once I paid or anything. So wild. Just install a self checkout at this point. read more

I don't like it. I know, I know... it's like, illegal or something to say that you dislike Goodwill, but I do and this one's no exception. I braved this Goodwill because my boyfriend loves shopping at all the area Goodwills, and not for hipster or ironic items, but for decent work shirts that he can wear and look nice in, but also not be upset about should any chemicals get on them at his rocket scientist day job (yeah, I can't believe I landed a rocket scientist either). His goal is to just have line $13 worth or work shirts (about 20 shirts) so he doesn't have to do laundry each week and should something happen to get ruined, it won't be a huge deal because it probably only cost about 50 cents. Smart man... but I still prefer Target. I'll pay $12 to be the owner of a virgin tee that no one's pits have had the chance to stink up yet and just wear that everyday for 2 weeks. I guess this Goodwill does have a few things going for it. For one, the building and p-lot seem really new and there are tons of windows so you never feel claustrophobic. Also, this Gw doesn't seem cluttered and everything appears to be fairly well organized and in order. Lastly, they've really great lighting... which is great for making the place seem more lively and friendly, but not so great because you can see all the imperfections in the merch. All the pilled sweaters, the corduroy pants with the crotch worn out, the over-shrunk and extra faded + stiff tess... i just can't be a part of that. There's nothing wrong with it, but mentally, it doesn't sit well with me... and also physically, I guess, since I have a weird body shape with a whole lotta boob, nada booty and pretty long torso. Nothing seems to be my size. The selection here was pretty slim for items that you might wear everyday. A whole lotta unintended crop tops from being improperly washed and a surprisingly small women's section. Even my Goodwill addicted BF didn't find anything worthwhile, less this one super cute ceramic cat dish that I was half tempted to purchase as a gag gift for a co-worker of mine. I'm sure it's a hit-or-miss type of scenario here, and I might come back during the Halloween season for props, but otherwise, you probably won't find me back here. read more

If you've caught any of my Goodwill reviews, you know which location has the largest selection and name-brand stuff. This location is just a mere okay. Their selection is small and the quantity of items is light in comparison to other Goodwill stores. This store is good for members of a family. Toys, clothing, shoes, books, electronics and older technology. They have a decent amount of housewares and the tiniest selection of bedding supplies, linens and draperies (curtains). Sometimes they might have an overhaul of novelties from the most recent holiday. For instance after Easter they had a bunch of themed gifts and toys. Customer service.. it depends on the day. But definitely get yourself some patience. That line, however small / large can wear on your best graces. Some store associates may take breaks at the worst times. This Goodwill is a new location right near the intersections of Golf & Algonquin. It's very well organized with a ton of merchandise to go through. I stuck to the household items and saw a lot of great stuff. Target also sends some of their overstock & clearanced out items to Goodwill so I saw a ton of brand new toys at incredible prices! I ended up walking out empty handed but I'll definitely be back on a regular basis to check out what new goodies they have in store and can hopefully dazzle you with my savings! read more

How can you give a bad review to Goodwill? Sure, many people have negative views of Goodwill because of the % that Goodwill gives back to the people as a non-profit organization. This isn't about that....this is about this specific Goodwill location. It's clean, in a decent location, it's big inside, and has good deals on previously used stuff. Recently I was in a position to help someone out by buying some home furnishings. Goodwill helped to supply me with some cool stuff at really cheap prices...... And that's the point. Absolutely ungrateful, There was a guy ahead of me, so I pulled up behind him. I saw he came out from Goodwill on the side where they donate I figured all right let me pull myself out now and walk up to the the door and then after I was done, the kid that works there goes to me. Oh you know you're supposed to pull up and we come out to you and you put the stuff in the bin you don't come inside. But then again, I can come inside when I need to buy something right, but not what I need to drop stuff off. Never again will I ever donate to Goodwill or purchase anything from them. I visit this store frequently for my son who is s avid thrifter. There isn't to much to say except it's hit or miss. The staff is great for the abuse they get from rude people . I wish the parents of kids didn't allow their children to rip open every box they see. It's not up to the staff to discipline the kids. Maybe they should post a sign and try to enforce it. Greta selection in a decent sized store. Many goodies up front near the register-brand new items going for clearance prices. Tons of teaching and school type supplies, including dorm decorations. The clothing selection is very good as well. Many name brand items at reasonable prices. Large selection of dinnerware and glass items. Nice large sized pieces of furniture and many new in the box items. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It would be nice if they had more registers open on busy weekends, but I will definitely return for more great finds. read more

I love going to Goodwill! Bring your old items (no tube tvs, as they refuse to take em) to donate and peruse through the store. I'm a fan of garage sales, and this place has a lot of hidden gems. You can get old electronics and decent size flat screens at a cheap price. Plenty of clothes (they have fitting rooms) and golf clubs to choose from. The shoe selection is hit or miss. There's board games, toys, and books. The people who work here are nice and helpful. read more

I almost got into an accident in their parking lot...twice. Not the best way to start my visit. Once I finally parked, I cautiously made my way inside. First impressions. Well, I had two. 1: It seems nice and clean in here. 2: Wow, that's a long check-out line. I better move fast, so I can get the great deals before my lunch break is over. I beelined straight to the furniture section. I was on a mission. And I failed. Everything that was remotely decent was priced at $49. Really? This is Goodwill. You likely have an over abundance of donations and you feel the need to price a used little coffee table at $49. It might have been $49.99, but I don't want to exaggerate. Then, I came across more reasonably priced items ($15 range), but guess what? These were the half-broken, totally wobbly items. Who prices these things? $5. Get $5 for Goodwill for the half-broken thing that a handy person will attempt to fix or trash when their attempt fails and then not feel guilty about their purchase, but instead feel good about giving $5 to the Goodwill mission. I don't foresee a future visit here anytime soon. But, I didn't really look beyond the furniture section, so maybe the deals were in the other sections. read more

I LOVE thrift stores and I shop them frequently for wants/needs, trying to be "green" if I can. However, this has got to be THE most overpriced Goodwill I've ever been to. I've consistently left here empty-handed, either finding nothing of interest, or passing up items because they were dollars (plural) more than comparable (or better quality) items at other Goodwills I've been to, including the other Arlington Heights location off of Rand. I mean, $4 for a used wicker basket not even in newish-looking condition?! (I bought a new one with a liner for $6, so screw that Goodwill). I also wanted some extra mix-and-match plates (you know, same general colors), but they price theirs at $1 or more apiece (whereas my favorite Goodwill bundles theirs together and for cheaper). Their book selection is a bit skimpy on the YAs and the children's books are always very messy/disorganized. There's also always bins of items to be put out near the front registers, so people rifle through those regularly and block the aisle near the dishes/register. Really, I haven't found a single "treasure" here, so I'm going to stop looking, and head to my tried-and-true Goodwills instead. read more

Although I never seem to walk out of here with much, I enjoy trying. Clean, well-organized, and ample. I did manage to score an awesome pair of boots once, but uh... that was about it. As I was pulling up to a parking space once, I saw a woman coming out of there with a really awesome, huge model pirate ship. I give 5 stars in hopes that this won't drive more business to Goodwill. I've never really ventured into a Goodwill or thrift store with the intent to purchase. But I was on a mission toward the end of 2013. I wanted a sport coat for some holiday functions and I didn't feel like spending $100+ on a new one. To Goodwill I went! This location was remarkably clean and orderly. You could argue, more so than some department stores. Once I found my section of the suit jackets, I realized I was going to need a cart. I tossed several into my cart. Then down the line for pants. Then shirts. Again, all the sizes were pretty accurately segmented, which definitely helps. I wheeled over to the fitting room and sucked in my holiday belly. The staff was helpful and readily available to unlock the fitting room door for me. I put a few things back and checked out. The entire experience was pretty great. I ended up spending $80, when I only intended on finding one specific jacket. They didn't have exactly what I was searching for, but the experience made me question why I buy new clothes at all. Sadly, no one asked who I was wearing at my holiday functions. read more

Really? I just stopped here and had some items in my cart to purchase. There was a table and a small chair I was interested in purchasing. I asked about both items and was told that I couldn't purchase them because they are being used for display and to come another time. Really? What is wrong with this location? Are you nuts? I thought the items were there to be purchased not kept by the store! I purchased a set of 4 coaster (glass) for 2.99 at a different location yesterday. The exact same coasters are priced at 2.99 EACH at this location. I know you want so badly to be high end, but you AREN'T. Sell the items and lower the prices. You are Goodwill not Macys. I could have bought half the items brand new, on sale at Macy's. I left my merch up front and left with nothing. Way to get those sales up! Definitely shop at a different location folks unless you have money to burn than have at it. Don't get excited about ANY of the furniture you see, because you won't be able to buy it. read more

I do not get the people who are in charge of pricing some of the items here. Do they realize the things they're selling are used? And that Goodwill is a charitable organization, not Sotheby's? Comparable items at different Goodwill locations in the area would cost 1/5-1/6 of what the items here are marked. I found a small painting I really liked and it was $60! Are you kidding me?! I will give this place props for being very very clean. I also found some great mid-century bar stools here for $10 each. That was probably an anomaly though, because the rest of their furniture is usually marked up at least 4x to what it should be selling for. It should be priced to move it out of the store. This isn't West Elm. You're way better off getting more bang for your buck at the location off of Rand Road. read more
