I would rate Negative 5 stars if I could ! I wanted to Donate an entire condominium 's worth of furniture, clothes, and miscellaneous items. I spoke with the manager here who gave me a flyer with a number to call for a Pick Up of all items. In order to Pick Up they wanted to CHARGE ME almost $800 TO PICK UP everything !!!! Is Goodwill out of their freaking minds?!?! That is now the LAST TIME I will EVER consider donating or visit a Goodwill ! read more

Recently came to this Goodwill as one of my last stops in the Glen Ellyn area. It's your average Goodwill store, parking could be a little bit of a challenge but this store features everything practical that you can find at a Goodwill store. This location is more quieter than other Goodwill locations. I feel like dislocation is pretty limited on finding rare gems. Staff here was doing a lot of cleaning inside as well rotating while we are still browsing. Restrooms are fairly maintained. Overall this location could be a hit or miss, check out lines can be long. You'll save a few bucks if you have a rewards number. Average experience. read more

Way better of a experience for donating stuff than the lombard location . I pulled up grabbed a bin to start unloading as I was going to fill 2 big bins this time. A young lady came out greeted me and help unload And take the bins back in. Thanked us for our donations and wished us happy holidays. Talk about complete opposite of the lombard lazy worker. This Goodwill store MADE MY DAY TODAY. Like, WHOA. I'm usually the person that drops stuff off, not shops around. Today, I decided to shop around (after dropping some stuff off). My husband is in Vegas playing Blackjack right now (and WINNING!) so I felt I had the right to spend a few dollars on some thrifty goods if I came across anything I liked. It's a typical Goodwill -- everything in it's place, priced well, and crowded with lots of people walking around. I've been looking around for a cool mug so I went to that section first. Found a cute bird soup mug (with little ceramic spoon) brand-new in the package. Score. Then I remembered that I wanted a little basket to store some essentials, went to that section, and found the perfect one for $.99. Score. Wandered around. Found an awesome rainbow umbrella -- exactly what I had been looking for a few months ago in stores! Score! My current purse has an irreparable broken zipper and the one I borrowed from my mom is too small -- so I took a look at their purses. Found an amazing multi-colored purse that can be converted into a messenger bag or a backpack or a bookbag or whatever the heck I want. Just exactly what I needed. SCORE! Remembered that I've been looking for random skirts to lounge around/hoop in/layer with. Found two on the rack that suited that desire perfectly. Score. Another thing that was pretty sweet -- the employees here are really nice. I had three ladies stop and offer to help me and a couple of them hung around to talk (yes, I'm the kind of person that likes when strangers talk to me). I really appreciated that they seemed so genuinely interested in helping me out. When I was in line to buy everything, I double-checked the umbrella to make sure there were no holes in it. I did find two small holes near the top that could be easily patched. Yet, I asked the cashier if they could lower the price for me. Management knocked it down from $10 to $5. I was happy with that and still purchased it. Two skirts + a mug + basket + large umbrella + an amazing purse = $22. WOW. I wasn't even bothered when my glasses decided to fall off in the check-out line. (The hinges decided to break. The glasses are two months old. I drove home blind. True story.) I suppose if I hadn't found all these sweet items today, I wouldn't have bothered to write a review for this location (yet). But I found those sweet items. And they made me very happy. Isn't that the whole point of shopping here? Happy means five stars. I'm SO glad I made the choice to walk inside today. read more

This Goodwill always has a great selection of housewares. I've been able to piece together some great soup bowl sets and glasses on the cheap. We also like the clothing and furniture section, but most of my time is spent among the rows of dishes and knickknacks. Drop-off is easy. They have a pull-up area and people will come out to greet you and help you unload. The only downside is that it's not covered, so you gotta watch the weather. It's never fun to donate when it's raining. There's plenty of parking, but people drive like crazy in this area for some reason. Watch out! read more

No longer THE ONE. That title now belongs to the Carol Stream location. I guess for as many dozens of times that I have been here, the "score factor" would have had to decline at some point for me. I still find things I convince myself that I need, but I have not had the wow factor here all year. I hope that will change in 2014. read more

They only sell junk quality merchandise at the stores at a high price. Most of the better stuff are sold online. The auction price is expensive plus they charge taxes plus shipping and handling which amount to about $40 since they use UPS . They have become so Greedy. It is better to support Salvation Army instead because they really support the needy. Most of their sales go to the high salaries of their regional CEOs! read more

Overall I love Goodwill. I like their mission. They take our "junk" and sell it to someone who doesn't see it as junk. I am a Goodwill shopper and donator. This location is near a Menards and a Wendy's. Needless to say it is VERY busy. I would avoid it on Sundays...if you can. The selection is good. I generally leave with a new to me item or twenty. read more

This Goodwill is in a nice location near some pretty well of people, so the inventory is generally pretty good here. The parking lot is nice, exterior of the building looks modern, and the inside is very clean and even smells fresh. Unlike some thrift shops, I don't feel like I need to shower immediately after leaving. Although the men's section is pretty small, the women's section is very extensive. And they have a good game section here too. I've seen a sports section here before but I didn't the last time I was there. Overall I always look forward to coming to this Goodwill to see what they've got. read more

Great Goodwill! Go on Tuesdays if looking for baby/child furniture items. Seems as though that may be the drop off day for stores like Target to donate. Great for lamps and shades. Excellent for baby clothes. Today purchased a ton of baby clothes, hangers, and the cutest toddler rocking chair for $39. Most of the clothes had their orginial tags on. read more

You can usually find some fun little thing or piece of furniture worth the $, but I was there tonight & couldn't believe the garbage they were selling as clothing. It was like the leftovers from a bad garage sale...all the rejects no one would even take for free. Also, I can't figure out why they feel it is good business to charge $5 for this stuff or more so it just sits there, when if they charged 1/2 that it would move faster while helping to clothe people less fortunate. This is a pretty decent Goodwill: they have some good books (I wish they had more YA's) and household items. I've never looked at clothes at this one, so I can't speak for that. read more

I'm the typical person that drops off a bag of goodies once a month when I find a bag of things that I just really don't need any more. I've ventured in this store a handful of times and I've been rather impressed. I haven't walked out with anything yet, but I am sure that I will at some point as they have a lot of new merchandise beyond the yard-sale finds. read more

A friend told me about this place.....well, I got BRAND NEW AEROSOLES shoes for $4.99. An Adidas jacket that looks like new for $4.99. NEW VHS tapes for 49 cents each. I LOVE this place, they're pretty selective on their goods and they're priced economically. read more

After several issues experienced at another nearby store, my expectations are lowered for this company. This location is not much better, but I give them two stars instead of one because, I there were more items of interest here compared to others. However, I was turned off by the high pricing of the merchandise. I find it unethical for a charitable organization to sell their free donations for such amounts. Aside from pricing, this store stocks their delicate pieces of glassware upside down leaving cracks and chips. Several cracked items have been sitting around for weeks because no one wants to purchase broken glass. The glass shelves need to have flat surfaces, plus the delicate & bottom heavy pieces, need to be kept right side up. My next problem is with the manager. She is ALWAYS (literally) running around cleaning and stocking shelves within customer's personal space. She loudly gives orders and reprimands her employees in front of us. This is really uncomfortable. Recently, we witnessed this again as well as an extremely childish display of impatience near closing time. She made angry, unintelligible announcements over the store intercom every five minutes starting at 8:15, then stood over the cashier questioning every move the employee made. I felt sorry for the cashier, she hadn't made a mistake and was very polite. It is unprofessional to show impatience with customers, and it certainly isn't professional to reprimand employees in front of the customers. Both actions are also incredibly unkind. She needs to remember that we all have lives and jobs. Customers keep the stores in business and workers (including her) employed. It was wrong to show such disrespect because she wanted to close quickly and go home. Emergency workers, service and medical professionals wouldn't do this, and neither should anyone else. It's perfectly acceptable to make a polite announcement at closing, but never acceptable to make shoppers feel uncomfortable for being there. I wanted to continue shopping here for the nice items, but I probably won't unless the manager works on making the store a friendly environment for both employees and shoppers, and also stops pricing the merchandise at an 'antiques & collectibles' store level. read more

Oh hey - this is my 300th review! Anyway, we stopped in today to have a look around. I like that this location has everything organized by item type, size and color. It makes looking for those Gap jeans that i refuse to pay $70 for a lot easier. I'd say the selection is moderate in comparison to some of the other locations in the area, though while I didn't find anything here today, my shopping companion did find three pairs of pants, so it may just be me. They definitely don't have as many dresses as some of the other locations, and that is usually what I am on the hunt for. Anyway, this location is clean and they do have dressing rooms, which is a good thing, otherwise the aisles are clogged up with people in various stages of undress, trying stuff on. They have a decent-sized housewares section and I also noticed a lot of kids' books, so if you're looking to add to your library, this is the place to come. The main thing about this location is that the parking lot is WAY too small and cramped and just generally badly laid out. I'd almost go so far as to park at Menards and walk over because it's hard to get in and out of there. Somewhere to come back to - just need to figure out where to put the car! read more
