Parking is a bit confusing to locate for a first timer . Proceed to park in the back lot where the donation center is located. Then walk the ramp to the front of the store . Staff was friendly , greeted us as we walk in and "Thank you ", when we exit the store. Sadly this location does not participate in the weekly color tag discount sale like some of the other stores. Person assisting with the donation area didn't even try to help us. We tried donating a table and they turned us away. Didn't offer any bins and had us sort our bags into each bin. We ended up just going to an Orange County goodwill instead and they helped us with all our donations. read more

This Goodwill location sucks. It's filthy and the staff are unbelievably lazy as f---. Today I dropped off about $600 worth of clothing (e.g., Hugo Boss) and WORKING high-end (Cuisinart, Breville) kitchen appliances. The lazy people in their loading area couldn't even be bothered to emerge from their dark inside perch like bats or help me with the 6 trips of items from my truck parked on the far side of their parking lot. One woman just yelled, "Throw it all in the bins" like it was garbage. Absolutely no "thank you," "have a nice day," or even "drop dead and don't bother us again." When I asked for a receipt she said "We don't give those out any more. Scan the QR code!" OK... so I scanned the QR code and guess what? It demanded my email and sent a link that simply said, "Email not found or link expired." WTF!? Goodwill claims "Your Donation Changes Lives!" Indeed, after today's experience, I WILL NEVER DONATE TO GOODWILL AGAIN IN MY LIFE! Just yesterday I donated hundreds of socks and other clothing to L.B. Rescue Mission on Pacific Ave. and to Salvation Army on Alamitos. Staff at both places were appreciative, friendly and helpful. Hope the Friday evening cashiers have a better attitude when customers are simply asking a question about using the cart to carry heavy supplies back to the parking lot. Not an ounce of decency. Had to carry a heavy item back without the cart because of the snarky comment the cashier gave me when i simply asked him if i could use it to bring items back. Made me feel as if i was going to steal it or as if it was an issue to ask. Not even a greeting. Hope management trains these young men better. read more

I am only familiar with the donation area, which I come often to donate the good movie props to (I shop at other goodwills and donate only here cause I don't want to buy previous props, LOL). I really like how they have huge bins, labeled (very convenient). The staff members seem very nice when I get the chance to interact with them. Big suggestion: to have an area for fragile items (like glasses or porcelain), maybe like a shelf unit so it doesn't get broken if the items are at the bottom and other items get thrown on top. read more

I use to love coming to this location. Unfortunately for the past year or so this place has really gone downhill. The largest inconvenience being the fact that you can't use their dressing rooms anymore. During the pandemic I completely understood the reasoning, however before you could bring items back and exchange for credit in store if they did not fit correctly. Now, they refuse to allow access to the dressing rooms (no signage stating this either) and do not allow refunds or exchanges anymore. Instead they instruct you to put the items on top of your own clothing in the middle of the store. This is a ridiculous solution for buying clothing attire. read more

I used to frequent this Goodwill on a weekly basis. Recently, they've undergone a "remodel," and I do not like the change. They've expanded the amount of clothing in the store, the vast majority of it is fast fashion and not worth the price marked. There are fewer books, records, and hard goods than before the remodel. There still may be some hidden gems for thrifters and resellers, but with 3 other large thrift stores in the immediate vicinity, I'd rather not waste my time here. read more

This used to be my favorite thrift store. As you see from my photos they are Ruining the clothes by their tagging and doing nothing about it. Every other shirt was ruined in that rack. When I brought it to the managers attention she said she knew this was happening and it's above her, that upper management requested they tag items like this to make the tags more visible to customers. What?? So ruin the clothing so that people can see the color sale of the week easier? I hope they do something about this, it's a shame people's donations are being ruined by poor management! read more

This is a review for Anjelica, a form of manager at Goodwill. I was sold a pair of shoes at a Goodwill in LA that were a half a size off: one a 6 and one a 6.5. How does that even happen? Two days later when I realized the issue, I went to return them. They were bought in LA country, I tried to return them in Orange County where I'm from. I was told I could not return them in OC but could in LA county stores. I went to my car, and called a Long Beach store (this one) to verify we could do the return before I drove 35 minutes. I was told on the phone it could be done. When I got there, I was directed to Anjelica, who said she could not process the return, could not 'work miracles', would not call to find a store that could process the return, and then walked away laughing. She even made me call again to prove that I had called that store. Unbelievable. I walked to my car and the donation door was open and I heard her tell her coworkers, "Look there she is!" I'm honestly shook at this level of awful customer service. I called the one on Atlantic and was very clear about the situation. I was promptly helps by Claire, and I was told that she could quickly take care of the issue and she apologized for how I was treated. Way to go Claire, thanks for fixing this problem. read more

I only donate clothing (& on occasion other misc. items) here as I prefer to shop at Salvation Army on Alamitos Blvd. in LB. The store is located in a very congested area but once you get through to the parking lot (in back) there are plenty of spaces. Employees who are taking donations are not very friendly & I had one recently call me out for bringing a donation after they had stopped. Well, then place a sign or have an after hours drop off box. I felt he was very rude as you'd think they'd be grateful for all the donations they receive. read more

They should really change the name of this place to "Hoodie Superstore" because there are literally racks and racks of them. I guess that's to be expected since hoodies seem to be part of the Long Beach uniform. As far as thrift stores go, this is just another one, except a little junkier. I think Goodwill is a great organization, but sometimes I seem to have an allegeric reaction when I shop. It usually happens around the clothes. Here the sneezing started near the shelves of housewares. Got junk? Bring it here. Need compact fluorescent lightbulbs (cFl's) on the cheap? Very rude stuff at the donation center! I wasted 30 minutes to get to the store to donate almost new items for a used value of about $400. When I got there at 5:35 PM the person at the donation center telling me that they closing and he won't take the bag even though their store hours are till 9 PM. So, that's it. I came in with my coworker. We are DSP's with 6 members with developmental disabilities. They excitedly walked around looking for costumes. They were scarce, scattered, unorganized and messy. I felt like I needed to keep putting antibacterial on my members with how dirty it was in there. After finding costumes the cashier was very rude. Wouldn't work with us when we had a Prepaid Visa. It took getting the manager to come up and fix the situation. The manager was very sweet. But the employee, she was very rude to my members, my co worker, and myself. I thought goodwill would be the best place to go since they are familiar with adults with developmental disabilities, but we were wrong. read more

Zero star if I could but I got a jacket from the jacket section and when I got to ringing it up the lady tried to say it's a coat and charge me $19.99 and argue that it's a coat. It was a windbreaker jacket. When I told her it's a windbreaker she tried saying I can call it a windbreaker but it's a coat. When the original tag was still on there labeling it a windbreaker. I wanted it for my niece that's very tall. I'm so mad cus she told me anything passed the waist is considered a coat. I told her no way that jacket is going pass the waist and she said my son was too big for that jacket so rude!!!! Older African American lady.
