Visited while traveling for work during #LexBurgerWeek. Starting with the ambiance, the restaurant was clean and when I arrived at 5:30 it was not very busy. By the time I left at 6:30 it was packed with a wait of ~10 people. I sat at the bar and the bartender was attentive and friendly. The menu seems very diverse with a lot of delicious sounding options. The beer menu is on the back with a QR code. As it was Burger Week, I went with their Signature Burger for $7 with a side of tots. The burger was a Spicy Pimento Burger with bacon jam, pickles, and lettuce. The burger was 4oz which was a great size to fill you up but not make you overly full. The burger was not overly seasoned and didn't have a ton of flavor, however the combination of toppings really enhanced the flavor and made it delicious. The tots were perfectly crisp and the Cajun seasoning really enhanced them nicely. All 4 of the beers in the flight were tasty but not overly powerful. Of the 4, the Tart and Tempered was the best as a light sour. I would recommend a visit and look forward to trying some other menu items. read more

Nice place for a solid meal. We all had burgers and enjoyed them. The staff were friendly. The place has a slightly elevated sports bar vibe. I'm sure it's a favorite place for beer drinkers, because they serve many kinds of beer, but I don't drink alcohol and still enjoyed stopping in for pub grub. read more

Came here on a whim and so glad we did. We arrived right when they opened and we were greeted with 2 very happy and ready to work workers. We got sat quickly and the service was on point. The food was pretty good and the portions were decent sized. Restaurant was clean and spacious. It started to fill out quick so we were glad that we came right when they open. I would return. I've been familiar with Goodwood Brewing for quite a while, but, for some reason, it's taken me a while to try it, but I'm glad I did. It's nearby for me and, at least for the time I visited (early afternoon) it wasn't crowded, so super convenient. The restaurant features upscale burgers and gastro-bar food, so we tried a couple of burgers. The mac and cheese patty melt was outstanding. A four inch burger patty plus a four cheese mac and cheese smashed with a spiced Texas toast type bread was excellent. The Goodwood burger was another great selection, featuring two four inch smashed patties, fried pickled jalapeños, pimiento cheese, onion, and bacon. I was in town and staying close so decided to have lunch here before an event. We chose to sit outside and the patio was nice. We ordered the totchos as an appetizer and they were good. 8/17/24 An awesome dog friendly restaurant :-) My husband, our puppy, and I had a wonderful time at Goodwood. We were seated outside and were pleasantly surprised when the staff brought iced water for our pup, which was such a thoughtful gesture. We ordered six habanero mango spice wings with bleu cheese and ranch, along with a side salad that paired perfectly with the wings. I had the Goodwood burger with seasoned tots and ranch, and everything was 10/10 delicious and made to order. The staff was attentive and friendly, making our visit even more enjoyable. I was in Lexington yesterday and was at Goodwood for 2 business meetings. The staff at the bar area was great for our first meeting and the staff for our second larger meeting in the dining area were equally as good. We had a few drinks for our first meeting and the larger second meeting we had several appetizers. I tried the Bavarian pretzel, Buffalo Chicken Dip and chips, along with some of the bone in wings. Everything was very good. I would definitely go back and try some of the entrees. read more

Pretty fun little space. Parking is limited in the front but there's other options nearby. The service was also great, our server kept checking in with us and if she didn't know about something, she'd check and then come back to us. My family is from Louisville but the Goodwood beer is well known to us and I was happy for the chance to eat dinner here. The space was fairly empty so it was no issue to grab a booth. I love amber ale and chose the O'Jerry's. We got the pretzel for starters. It was impressive being brought to the table but I doubt it had been freshly made, maybe heated up. They also give you a limited amount of cheese, which meant I didn't get any competing with 3 others. The big win was the chicken and waffles! Absolutely delicious and great to share. The server brought us a big dose of regular syrup and I was thankful because the promoted syrup was ... different. My son added a side salad and enjoyed it. I got the small strawberry kale salad. Loved the ingredients but it was warm, which was a major turnoff. I wouldn't recommend ordering it. The burgers felt complicated and another helpful tip from the server - my youngest got the kids burger with basic toppings and mayo, plus fries. My husband got 10 wings and tots. The wings weren't tossed in the sauce. It came on the side for dipping. Loved the server and all his tips. The space looks a bit dated and the paper menus were filthy. Absolutely love going to Goodwood. This week is Lexington burger week and we went to try out their special burger. Just not a fan of their burger this year. The Braveheart Beef Patty was covered up by their chili. Didn't taste any of the Goodwood BBQ Sauce. I wouldn't call the Louisville Lager Beer Cheese "beer cheese" it was more nacho cheese sauce. Great service and love the staff will be back just not during burger week. A huge thanks to our bartender Miranda P. She was super friendly and very helpful. burger was a little dry but the pretzel alone had made me order more take out pretzels. the size and price are unbeatable, genuinely the best pretzel in town. service when i went was great, the server was really cute and friendly! i will say the ambience is a bit odd for my liking. the lighting is super far away and it looks super dark but when you're sitting at the dining tables, it's like you're sitting on the sun. i hope they don't turn the lights on in the summer at all, restaurant has great big windows for a lot of natural light. read more

UK game night, everyplace was packed but we found seats at the bar here. They have a big selection of craft beers. We are lite beer and wine drinkers but found something. We ordered the pork tacos with a bowl of chili. The chili was good, the cornbread would have been better if warm. We then ordered the pretzel which was huge, could use more salt and definitely liked the beer cheese over the mustard. Drinks were flowing, tried the KY Sangria, pretty good but sour. Wonderful food, terrible management! We called ahead and spoke to the Manager Robin to make sure that Goodwood could handle our party of 20 to 35 people at 2:30 in the afternoon on a Sunday. On the phone, they were very accommodating and said to come on in. We had about 40 people show up and they turned away the remaining three families in our group, so they could allow for "future" customers who may or may not walk in. We spoke with Robin again and asked can you just treat the additional guests as the "walk-ins" they were waiting for and they could even be seated elsewhere. We told them we knew we were over our number by 5 people or so and apologized. They had plenty of tables open and we had plenty of time to wait. Those tables stayed open the entire time we were there and they lost revenue. The food was great, but our entire party would have left if we had not already put some of the orders in. Lost plenty of future customers, we will not be back not matter how good the food is!! Revenue is revenue! Why would you turn it away waiting for a future potential customer, when the customer is already standing in front of you?? read more

So, what's a brew pub to do on a Sunday to attract families? Feature the princess from Frozen! Coming in today. I had no idea that I would be surrounded by pretty princesses of various ages! My Queen (wife) ordered the Goodwood burger $15.49 with spicy braised collards ($2.49 up charge). The burger was fully topped with fried pickle jalapeños, pimento cheese, and bacon but the patties or somewhat dry and a bit tough. Are the spicy breeze, collards or collard greens with bacon, kimchi, and sweet tea. It was a spicy mixture. I ordered the drunken chicken sandwich with seasoned fries $14.49. It was too small chicken breasts with melted American cheese, lettuce, and a sweet jam. Very tasty and the fries were large and plentiful. The restaurant is rather large, and also has outdoor patio seating that is covered and has heaters. The restaurant has large screen TVs across the bar and through the restaurant to catch your favorite sporting event. Overall, a good experience. Parking is limited immediately in front of restaurant but ample parking is available on the side lot or the strip mall across the service road. Goodwood was not my first choice today for Lex Burger Week. The parking situation in Chevy Chase for my other two selections was an issue, so I headed to Goodwood. I had not previously been there, but they get a plus for having a patio. I had to wave down a server after I was ignored by two others. I ordered the Poppin' Pimento Burger (bacon, pimento cheese, lettuce, pickles on a nice roll and crowned with a jalapeno popper). I odered fries as well, although I don't know why as they're rarely on point. The jalapeno popper popped into my mouth before I snapped a picture, but it was a nice visual and, oh yes, delish. The place has good ratings on Yelp, so I decided to try it. The service was subpar, but it was busy for a Thursday night. The burgers are as thin as fast food restaurants like McDonald's, Burger King, etc. Trust me, I love a good burger, but after paying $14.90, I wanted some meat, which was meager. We did enjoy the Bavarian Pretzel at $10.79. If anything, I suspect most people go for their beer. Also, I was taken aback that the receipt mentioned a suggested tip of 20%, 25%, and 30% on a $61.00 bill. According to Bankrate (June 15, 2023), 15% is a standard tip for restaurants in US and Canada, although some people leave 20% of the pretax bill. read more

I've visited Goodwood twice now, once to try a variety of their appetizers and once for dinner. Both times the food was really good overall, though I may argue that it's a bit pricier than I'd like for what you get. Starting with the apps, they are all excellent and at a decent price point. My favorite is the giant pretzel which comes with amazing beer cheese. The Mac and cheese melt with an added burger patty clocks in at nearly $20 but will say it was very good as well. I sampled the chicken and waffles which, again, great...the fish and chips are average and boring though. Being a brew pub they have a good selection of beers and a few cocktails. Be warned though the menu only lists a few beers and says to ask your server for seasonal selections. These were on a small digital board that we couldn't read from our table and the server had no interest in telling us what they were. I finally found them myself on their website by going through a mock take out order. Overall their food is a 5, service about a 3. It's a place that's worth checking out. I'd visit again if friends wanted to go but not something I'd probably suggest a second time on my own. read more

I came to Lexington for work and tried it because it was close to the hotel. Ordered the tart n tempered beer, really good stuff. I got shrimp and grits and man was it delicious. I was nearly done with the beer before my food arrived. I was hoping 1 of 3 people who were in and out of the bar would ask if I wanted another, but sadly, that didn't happen. I really like this place. Their Fish and Chips are some of the best in Lexington. Slightly pricey but we always enjoy the food and the experience. Great place to watch a game too as it isn't overly crowded. You can also accrue points for money off future meals, which I appreciate. I had their version of a jalapeño margarita and it was real good. I liked the big pretzel OK, but the cheese dip wasn't smooth, and the cookie with ice cream was OK, but would have liked more ice cream on it.
