Had an absolutely great time at Blue Stallion Brewing Co. This place is a whole vibe. First of all, the beer menu? Impressive. There's something for everyone, whether you're a "let me analyze the hops" person or a "just give me something cold and delicious" person. Everything we tried was solid, and it's clear they know what they're doing. The venue itself is super cool. Family friendly, relaxed, not pretentious, and somehow feels both lively and laid-back at the same time. The kind of place where you can hang out for one drink and accidentally stay for three. Service was great: friendly, fast, and helpful without hovering. Exactly what you want when you're trying to responsibly sample your way through a tap list. Parking is excellent. Stress-free. No parallel parking gymnastics. No circling the block questioning your life choices. Just... parking. Beautiful. They also had a pop-up event featuring local artists, which was awesome. Apparently they host things like that pretty regularly, and I love that they're supporting local small businesses. Nothing pairs better with a craft beer than community spirit. They offer pizza, which we didn't try this time, but it looked and smelled incredible. Great beer, cool atmosphere, excellent service, strong community vibes, and parking that doesn't make you cry. 10/10, will absolutely be back. read more

I really appreciate that they have a 5oz option of their beers, so I could have samples without being limited by the number in a flight. I was there on Mardi Gras (totally didn't realize it was until I showed up) and while they were busy, the service was still quick. I enjoyed every beer I tried! read more

Great community vibe and great selection of German-style beers! Multiple seating areas and very dog friendly - I love all the 'drunk dogs' passed out around the bar. The Doppelboch is made in small batches, so get it while you can! I love the cider (no snide comments please), and they also have a full bar with great bourbons as well. Food was closed on our visit, but it just means I'll have to come back when it reopens! Plus for me (and not other Yelpers) is I can stumble home on foot after I've made tons of friends, inevitably ending in me consuming more than I planned when I arrived. We found this local brewery on Yelp during a weekend trip to Lexington ... and now this honestly might be our favorite brewery in Kentucky! There's a decent-sized parking lot right across the street. We showed up on a Saturday evening around 7 p.m. with our pup, and made our way to the outdoor area. There are several picnic style tables, along with a cornhole set up. my fiancé went inside to get us some drinks, while I stayed outside with our dog. One of the bartenders stopped by to greet me, and gave our dog some love and a treat. He then looked at me and said," You know you can bring your dog inside, right? We're the most dog-friendly bar in Lexington." I was shocked! But sure enough, as we walked inside, there were literally dogs sitting in high-top stools at the bar. Everyone working here was kind and welcoming ... heck, even the other customers were friendly. The inside is decorated with both Bluegrass and German influences, which creates a modern, yet comfortable vibe. We tried several of their brews: my favorite was the Cherry Limeade Sour (I forget the official name). My fiancé liked their Irish Red so much, he bought a 4-pack to-go. We also ordered food from their "Salt & Vinegar" kitchen, but I'll save that full review for their Yelp page. I will say this was some of the best elevated comfort food we've had ... not something you typically find at a brewery. We arrived a bit late and the kitchen had just closed. But their friendly bartender offered to have someone make us a tasty pretzel with pimento cheese. No I am not a fan of pimento cheese usually but this one was spot on as well as the pretzel bread which was crispy on the outside and nice and fluffy on the inside. Their beer was also very tasty, refreshing and nicely carbonated. We will definitely be back. (The only negative I can say is that the front door opened to the left instead of to the right as you walk in the main entrance. That made it very awkward to enter and maybe they can flip it around on its hinges.) read more

Really like this brewery. It was in my top 3 out of the 7 or so we visited in Lexington. They had trivia on the Sunday night we visited which was fun. They also have pac-man, pool, darts, corn hole and a food truck outside. I thought their NEIPA's were the 2nd best out of the local competition. I liked the Mango one, it was super unique and tasty. My wife loved the Hefeweizen. Def recommend this place for the beer lover. read more

The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable during my visit, offering insights on all of the draft and take away beer. Great varieties, so something for everyone. Five stars all the way baby! Okay, so the beer is REALLY GOOD! We had several flights from Goze to IPA's to Dunkel. All housemade. Now onto the food! Inspiring. The Spaetzle Prima Vera was divine. All of the veggies were crisp and the "pasta" was delicious. We also had the "corn dog" which is a completely house made brat, served with a side salad and pan cornbread (not too sweet and utterly delicious!) We would've loved to have told the chef in person how awesome he was, but he darted out the door mid-evening. Something about his wife having a baby?!?!? . But seriously, the man is a genius if he could do all that AND be waiting for that life-changing phone call! Congrats to them and to the Blue Stallion family. Blue Stallion is located in what I'd call a "transitional" neighborhood. Parking is limited on site, but there's a small lot across the street. The bar is ridiculously tall - ridiculously. I had to take a photo because I'm not short, 5'6", and the top of the bar hit me at neck height. Weird. Makes the servers seem uber-far away. We had a flight of their classic award-winners and enjoyed each of them. The smoked lager and ya damn skippy were particularly good and unique. There's a deli inside if you get hungry. read more

Locally brewed beers of the highest quality. Rooted in German style beers, although not exclusively, you will certainly find something you enjoy. The staff is not only friendly, but knowledgeable, which just adds to the experience. They also host a German/American Southern restaurant called Salt & Vinegar. We tried several dishes including the smoked brisket sandwich served on a fresh pretzel bun and served with a German*American potato salad. It was so good and the quality far exceeded our expectations being inside of a brewery. Truly restaurant quality food. Highly recommend and will return soon. read more

Blue Stallion is one of my favorite breweries in Lex! Located on 3rd street right off Newtown Pike, it's a great place to meet up with friends for a brew. Parking can be difficult to find during prime-time weekend hours. Blue Stallion specializes in German beers- their "Hefeweizen" which is a wheat beer, is my go-to selection; the Dunkel is a darker ale that is popular. The taproom has indoor and outdoor seating with lots of tables to accommodate big groups- I've never been unable to find a table here. One weird thing is when you order a drink the bar itself is really high- it's kind of intimidating in a way. There are darts and other bar games set up, with an upstairs area that can be rented out for events. When I was there last I saw signs advertising their trivia nights- would definitely be a fun time! read more

This is a great brewery in Lexington. Off to itself and it's huge. I've been here a couple of different times. Once it was so packed, I had to stand in a large line to order and the other (most recently), there were only a couple of us in there. Either way, the staff seemed to handle the customers with no problems. This store is very updated with electronic signage showing the beers so this place seems like the most up to date compared to all the other Lexington breweries. I love the logo too. My first brewery visit in Lexington! Blue Stallion is really sleek and modern. Lots of room for sitting and activities (including pool, darts, and Ms. Pac Man). They also have a food stand inside (Dad's Favorites). They have every style of beer you can think of, all listed out on giant TV screens behind the bar. I had the Pirouette (kettle soured cider mix), Fantastic Pun (strawberry lactose NEIPA), Lexipolitan (pomegranate lime hibiscus gose), Kama Sumatra (coffee porter), and the Ya Damn Skippy (peanut butter porter). Sure, that was a lot, but I was doing flights. Okay, even as flights, it was a lot. The Fantastic Pun and the Pirouette were my favorites, but everything else was tasty as well. I couldn't finish the heavier pours (since this was the first stop of many), but I tried my darnedest. Staff was friendly, the space was lovely. This place is great! It's always got new beers to try and it's pet friendly! It's also one of the few places in the area with a (nice) shuffleboard table. They also have darts and pool. It's locally owned and the beer is brewed on site. I would recommend trying any of the beers that they age in bourbon barrels! read more

This is the sports brewery of all breweries in Lexington. Why do I say that you ask? This brewery offers a variety of things to do while sipping down one of your favorites brewed by BSB....pool table, darts, shuffleboard, video game machine and pin ball machine and lets not forget they also have a couple family games like Yahtzee etc. This is also a great place to catch your favorite game as they have several small TV's throughout the brewery along with projection TV on the wall. Blue Stallion is one of my top three breweries in Lexington. Their beer is spot on and they always have a great selection to choose from no matter what type of beer you may like. You can also take home your favorites in a Crowley. Just check out the menu board for pricing. Oh and don't forget to check your beer in on untapped, they are a certified venue and your beer check in will show up on the menu board. Out of all of the breweries we visited in Lexington, Blue Stallion was our overall favorite. There wasn't a beer that we didn't like. The peanut butter porter was the closest thing to a liquid Reese's cup, the sour lager really did taste like a handful of Sour Patch Kids, and the smoked lager had a hint of ham to it (and that was a good thing). Had we stayed in Lexington for another day, we would have returned to Blue Stallion for sure. This brewery is a must for any beer geek! read more

They can get a bit packed at times but there are lots of spaces to find seating. Parking is another story though. Blue Stallion Brewing is a great bar in Lexington which is cranking out some authentic German style beers along with the typical craft beers such as hazy IPAs, IPAs and sours. The beers that keep me coming back are the German beers all of which are reasonably priced during their happy hours you simply can't beat this place. I recently watched a UK game here and I purchased an entire liter (33 ounces) of a Helles lager for $8 which is a steal and my father purchased the Hefeweizen (17.5 ounces) for $5. These beers were not only true to their German style but the atmosphere in Blue Stallion was awesome during the Cats game with a giant projector screen and various bar games the vibe of blue stallion made me not want to leave haha. If your looking for great beer that is priced fair and super nice staff/bartenders I would definitely recommend visiting BlueStallion. read more
