don't think I can say enough wonderful things about the service I received from Goody Garage Doors and specifically Zach! Scheduled a tune-up/inspection as my garage door was horribly loud each time it opened/closed. I received an email shortly before Zach arrived letting me know he's on his way, with a photo of him (so I knew who to expect) and a short bio of his time working on garages. He went right to work and after about 20 minutes had me come out to the garage to show me where repairs needed to be completed. He explained and showed me where the wearing of certain parts were and what was causing the noise plus pointed out why the door was "slamming" shut each time it came down. He wrote up an estimate and included the discount available for replacing the spring. It still amounted to more than I ready to invest and I wanted to get another quote. No pressure from Zach at all! I told him I quickly scheduled an appointment with A-1 Garage for Monday to get an estimate and with a smile, he said you'll be contacting us to come back out! RJ answered my frantic call after the rope with the plastic handle that hangs down in my garage to disengage the garage door caught on the roof rack of my 4-Runner as I was backing out and disengaged the garage door that landed on top of my 4-Runner roof. it was a scary situation and I called a couple of garage door companies that couldn't fit me in or rearrange your schedules for me as my car was stuck. I had a huge meeting to get to at work and I needed help right away. RJ at Goody Garage Doors readjusted the techs and was able to send Joey and Bailey out to me at 9 AM. We have a double roll up garage door that is 27 years old. We've been taking pretty good care of it, but recently it started to develop a "hitch-in-its-getalong". Best experience I've ever had with someone coming to my home for a repair. The technician Isaiah knew exactly how to repair our issue within seconds. On top of that, during our conversation, I commented how hot our garage gets and how it radiates to the rooms in the house, and Isaiah was so knowledgeable that he suggested insulated doors. These doors lowered the temp in the garage by almost 20 degrees!!! In Arizona, this is a complete miracle! Not only do we have a new door, but because of Isaiah, our house will be cooler, we'll save tons in electricity, and all of our items stored in the garage won't get ruined!!! Seriously, all this and at a fraction of the cost and headache from every other place we have dealt with, and he was the kindest, most knowledgeable guys I've talked to in a while. While I was lubricating my garage door, I noticed one on the bolts holding up my spring bar had striped out and the bar was basically hanging by one bolt. I went through Angi's list and decided to give Goody Garage Doors a try as they had a good rating and good reviews. They were able to schedule me that day and they sent out technician Joey Ryals. Joey was very professional and knowledgeable. He showed me all the parts that needed to be replacement and explained why. He made it very easy to see how worn out the parts replaced were after 30 plus years of usage. Also, for the piece of wood that the spring bar bolted to he didn't have the larger size that was used on my house instead of just using what he had he made a trip to Home Depot to pick up the larger size lumber used on my house. Great consult and service/install from beginning to end ! Nick (who really knows his stuff) came out to look at what was going on with our garage door, which was a pretty old system to begin with. Going over everything and seeing what we already knew (from getting two other estimates prior to his visit, of which neither found everything and were not as thorough) he explained answered our tons of questions patiently. He was able to give us detailed breakdown estimates on the spot for repair or replace. (beat the others estimates by major long shots no ridiculous upselling ) We went with replace since it just made more sense (cents too) and within a few days the install was scheduled and completed. Will was the installer and he was phenomenal ! Knows his way around a garage door. He went above and beyond and was so efficient, professional, and all round great ! Overpriced and Misleading--Beware! I recently had work done by Goody Garage Doors and was shocked by the excessive pricing compared to other companies. They charged me $1,300 for a garage door opener, while my neighbor got the same model from A1 Garage for just $550. On top of that, the installation was poorly done another garage door professional later pointed out that the bar connecting the opener to the door was incorrectly installed. I also needed new springs and was quoted a staggering $1,800. To make matters worse, they insisted my drums needed replacement, even though another professional confirmed they were perfectly fine. This company seems to overcharge and mislead customers and I seriously question the legitimacy of their five-star reviews. He thoroughly explained and showed me how the springs were two different sizes from a previous repair done through a different company via our home warranty (FAHW), and we had a heavy garage door that they couldn't handle, which ended up breaking our belt. He explained everything to me and provided the options available to me with no pressure to do anything at all because my garage door was still working. Reed Steplton came on time for my garage tune up. But while providing recommendations he told me certain parts need to be replaced. Over garage door springs and side rolls were in bad conditions and required immediate attention. He lubricated belt and connectors to garage doors, changed parts add extra bolts which was missing from previous installer. The door when he scaled it was 29 pounds whet it should be only weight less than 1 pound . When work was almost done. He tried to recalibrate or reprogram existing motors it did not work ( motor was from 2002) he then installed new motor and new remote control and new wall garage door opener and new remote control one . Analyzed the problems in our approx 25 year old original setup and provided a clear estimate, explained everything to my satisfaction, and went right to work.
