Buyer Beware: Whatever Happened to Customer Service and Pride in One's Work? I am writing this review for one reason: to warn other customers about what happened to me. I accidentally bumped my garage door while backing out, so I called this company to come repair it. They came out on Thursday and charged me $401. To be clear, I was okay with the $401. I assumed I was paying for a professional repair and that the problem would be fixed correctly. Instead, the very next time I used the garage door, it fell off the tracks, twisted the rail, and would not fully raise. In other words, after paying $401, my garage door was not better. It was worse than before and now unusable. Because I needed to get the garage door closed quickly, I called their emergency service line on Saturday. That experience was awful. I was routed into one of the most frustrating AI phone systems I have ever dealt with. It was clearly AI, but it was presented in a way that seemed designed to make it sound human, even with fake background noise like it was sitting in a real call center. I finally pushed it enough that it admitted it was AI. That is deceptive, and when you have an actual urgent home repair issue, it is infuriating. While I was still trapped dealing with that AI system, a technician called me and told me it would be another $201 for him to come out. I explained the situation clearly: your company had just worked on my garage door on Thursday, and now by Saturday it had fallen off the tracks, twisted the rail, would not fully open, and was worse than before your repair. He told me he would be there within an hour. He said he understood that this was service recovery and understood why he didn't want to pay the $200. Then he never came. I tried to call him back and once again had to fight through the same horrible AI system. Eventually I got through to him. At that point, he told me he was not coming after all. His explanation was that I had pressed the wrong prompt when I called, and that his boss told him not to come because he was worried he would not get the $200 emergency fee, even though the technician had already told me he was on his way. Let that sink in. I had already paid this company $401 for a repair that made my garage door worse. I was now dealing with an unusable garage door. I was told help was coming within an hour. Then I was told no one was coming because they were worried about collecting another fee. I asked the technician to have his boss call me. He said he did not want to give me his boss's private line. I told him, "You have my phone number. Have your boss call me." That never happened. So here is the full picture: I paid $401 in good faith, the repair failed immediately and left my garage door in worse condition, I was forced into a deceptive and maddening AI "emergency" phone line that would not let me speak to a human, I was quoted another $201, told a technician was coming, and then abandoned. At this point, I do not want this company back at my house. I do not trust them. I will be disputing the $401 charge, and I am now paying someone else to fix the damage. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise anyone considering this company to look elsewhere. read more

When my garage doors needed to be replaced recently, I chose Lodi Garage Doors in Phoenix after picking up their brochure on a recent visit to my local Costco. Given Costco's reputation for service, quality and pricing, I was confident that there was good reason for the association between Lodi and Costco. My suspicions were confirmed when my new garage doors were installed. The doors look great, work smoothly and quietly and the customer service I received was second to none. As my house is white, I ordered white doors which matched the color of my home so there was no need to paint them. When the doors were initially installed, I noticed a few scratches and notified Michael, who is my Sales Consultant. He sent a representative to inspect/confirm my observations. Michael confirmed that I would not be painting the doors and then promptly and cordially said, "We will replace the doors at no additional charge." Though I was pleasantly surprised, I wasn't totally astounded as this is the level of service one could expect from Costco and obviously is part of Lodi's selection as what I'll call a "Costco recommended contractor/vendor." The replacement doors arrived much earlier than Michael's initial time estimate and are perfect. Everyone at Lodi Garage Doors, with whom I worked is a professional and well experienced in in their craft. When an employee is enroute to a customer's home a text is sent with the name, picture, estimated arrival time (along with a "tracking link") and information about the employee's experience. It is not uncommon for Lodi employees to have as much as 26 or 30 years experience, as was the case with two of the great guys that worked on my garage. The employees John, Robert, William and Cody were those that installed my garage doors. Each of them were every bit as friendly, cordial and most importantly technically experienced and professional as Michael. I could not be more pleased with the experience I've had with LODI GARAGE DOORS and will contact no one else should I ever again need garaged door service. I will enthusiastically recommend them to friends and family. There is a reason Lodi Garage Doors is a Costco recommended contractor. That Lodi's service, quality and pricing meet Costco's strict standards is that reason. read more

Where do I start...we got our keys on May 22, 2024 in a new build community in the west valley. Since then, our RV garage has quit working 7 times. The first time, the cables came apart. Lodi sent a technician out the next day and had it fixed. Over the next 4 weeks, we would get different ERROR messages on the opener and the garage door would not stay closed. This happened 5 times , with Lodi sending a different technician each time to diagnose it. The problem I have is that each technician just blamed the previous one. One of the techs told me if I ever pulled the "release" rope to close my RV garage it would void all warranties too. Which is not the case. The internal communication at this company is abysmal. As of last week, we had another ERROR message. Keep in mind, each time this happens, my truck is now stuck in the garage. Lodi got a technician out on Friday 8/2, to which the technician told me all I needed to do was a software update, but couldn't provide me any information on how to do that and claimed he couldn't do it either. He ran the door a couple more times to ensure it worked properly, and in that time, the drive shaft on the motor broke. I get it, things happen, just fix it! Right? Wrong...he told me to call the office today (8/5) to get on the schedule to have my motor replaced. So I did...to which the customer service rep told me the soonest they could get to me was August 17th and that could push. So now my vehicle is stuck in the garage for two more weeks and no guaranteed date for repairs. I didn't have a choice with choosing the garage door company since it was an already built spec home, but if you have the choice, DO NOT USE LODI. ****EDIT: Lodi called me this morning (8/6) and was able to get a technician on site today to make the repair. Called Lodi to get information on the garage door they installed 20 years ago. They were very responsive and gave me the information I needed which is deeply appreciated; This got them three stars automatically. They also informed me the costs involved in replacing a bottom seal for my garage door as well as the bottom retaining bracket for that seal. This is where they lost two stars. For a bottom seal for my garage door, Lodi is charging $5 a linear foot for rubber. Almost any place else on the Internet, I can purchase it for less than $2 a linear foot. For the bottom retaining bracket that holds the seal, Lodi wants $15 a linear foot. Online I can get it for less than half that a linear foot. While their profit margins are outrageous at best at over 250% from other retail, They are totally gouging their customers on materials. I can only imagine what their labor rates are. Unless you're willing to get ripped off on overpriced materials, I highly recommend a YouTube video and do it yourself maintenance. read more

On 3/12 or 3/13/2025 this company is hired by Lennar home builders this is my second complaint. The first one is because one of their workers was stealing a tool out of my fiancé's toolbox and we're black they just wrote it off and said because he's been with him for a long time nothing happened and that it probably was an accident even though we have a video showing otherwise! Now this company sent a different worker to our home to remove the garage door and to replace the top panel when he arrived at our house, he removed the panels and lay them up against my fiancé's boat. We asked him to remove it, and he placed them along a brick wall in rocks and did not cover them!! I did ask the Lennar rep. Did he think that was a good idea because those panels were already painted however, they continue and ignored the request of the homeowner when replacing the top panel instead of this company replacing it with a new panel they replaced it with a damage panel has a burnt mark on it. when the worker put the panels together laid them on the concrete, did not lay a drop cloth down to protect them from scratches or dings and now we have them! The next day, the painters were supposed to come and paint this we would have never noticed it if they would have painted over it, but because of a different circumstance, they never made it to paint the damage door and we was able to see that they grabbed the old damaged top panel replace our already damaged panel that they installed in the first place!! I'm not sure if we are getting this type of treatment because we black!!. I'm starting to believe so because they did not rectify the-first issue unfortunately we don't have a choice on who Lennar Homes use !!! because we filed a complaint already that they would make sure that they didn't escalate us any further but that did not happen.We want our panels replaced. This is a brand new home. We should not be having these issues. we do have a video of the damage door!!! I did send a video to Lennar Homes, looking for a resolution read more
