Tender tuna grill-kissed to perfection? Yes, please! If Yelp would allow us to give a 4 1/2 I would. There are so many menu items we wanted to try, but settled in on the Goombay's Tuna Reuben and the Goombay's Grille. The tuna on each of these sandwiches was tender perfection. We typically skip the fries, but these beauties were crisp and seasoned well. We opted to sit outside on the cute outdoor patio since we had our four-legged friend with us. Staff were very friendly and the bar and restaurant were wonderfully decked out for Halloween. We'll definitely be back to work our way through some more of the interesting food offerings. PS - the have a fun Halloween drink menu if you're looking for some goulishly good cocktails.

This is a staple for our family! Every time we come to OBX we need to eat here and we always eat crab legs. They have adorable kids drinks with sharks and crocodiles, they are so cute! O highly recommend this place!

The restaurant is very small so expect a wait especially in the summer!! The seafood was very fresh and was so good. The potato soup is also pretty good. Don't know if I would wait a long time for it again but nice experience.

Incredibly well done toasted duck for the Fat Tuesday special opening, everything on the plate paired together and it was pure harmony. Thanks for the great meal good luck with the upcoming season.

Crab dip is good, so was all the seafood. I didn't take any pictures but the restaurant was strung with lights and decorated very nicely, the bar was also very lively.

We found Goombays on the map, during off season, while looking for some fresh seafood to eat. Super cute place. We were greeted promptly and sat. The menu had some fun options. We got a sampler, tuna tacos and fish and chips. Everything was great. We most enjoyed the tuna tacos, fun, flavorful and balanced. I could've used more heat in the crab balls claiming to be the hottest on the island but I understand hotter might be a turnoff for sensitive pallets. We did have a problem with the rice but our server fixed the issue immediately, refreshing! He was very attentive and we had a good experience overall.

Menu is significantly pared down from previous model. Pricier, but the quality and presentation make it worth it. Half the mahi-mahi fish tacos and my daughter had black bean burger and fries. Both were vastly better than past years. Keggy was our server and I asked if they made shots, she said what were you thinking? I replied we were in Duck so I'd like a Duck fart, she said no, you're in Kitty Hawk, so I ordered the Kitty Hawk Rooster, and she explained to me where the name originated. Friendly staff, personable service. Only complaint, the AC upstairs was blowing right on us, so it was a little chilly. Would recommend to anyone. $60 for appetizer, two handheld meals and one cocktail. Two thumbs up!!!

We were seated in the lower dining area. Our server was great. She was super friendly and very timely in her service. Food was good, it was never that great. They have their standby dishes like the sesame noodles. I decided tot ru the fish and chips. The fish was good but the very odd "chips" seemed like shaved potatoes that were cold. They looked good but could have been hot. We all ordered cocktails. I had the orange crush and it was delicious. It didn't really have much booze but was tasty.

Came back Saturday with five friends on our last night in the Outer Banks and it turned into one of the most insulting meals I've ever paid for. The broken plate sent Three different waiters at different points. Nobody owned the table. Nobody knew what was happening. We ordered the jerk chicken. They called it a "whole chicken." It was a half chicken. Sixty dollars for half a chicken that arrived cold. The rice was raw--hard, crunchy, undercooked garbage. The beans? One bean. One. The rest of the plates were cold too. Everything. They said they'd take 20% off. They took five dollars. Then they made it worse: that "discount" came out of the waitress's tip. The restaurant didn't eat the cost. They penalized the only decent person there and kept the money themselves. The waitress took an $80 hit on a $400 bill. The manager stood there and lied about it. Straight-faced. A lying sack of crap who would rather steal from her own staff than admit they served cold, incomplete, overpriced food and then shorted the bill. I walked out. I should have done it sooner. No wonder the place was empty on a Saturday night in the Outer Banks. People already know. There are dozens of better restaurants here. Go to any of them. Do not give this place your money, your time, or your last night of vacation. They'll serve you cold half-portions, undercook the sides, then take it out of the waitress who actually tried. Since it was a Wednesday evening, I figured it shouldn't be busy, but boy was I wrong lol. When we arrived, the wait was almost an hour and we contemplated leaving but thankfully, there were two, open seats at the bar, so my daughter and I decided to grab those seats and dine in. The restaurant was very colorful and vibrant and I loved all the Jamaican decor. The bar was just as packed and it took a while for someone to get us menus but after looking over the menu, we decided on the Brown Stew Chicken and the Curry Chicken. We also ordered Frozen Bob Marleys, which were very good. As we waited, we were able to hear the sounds of the band nearby and it made for a nice vibe. It took an hour for us to get our food but our server/bartender, Meka, was very sweet and apologetic. The Brown Stew Chicken was amazing! It was seasoned wonderfully and extremely flavorful. The Rice & Peas and Plantains were just as good. My daughter enjoyed her Curry Chicken as well. Neither one of us cared for the Mac & Cheese. Wednesdays are Groove on the Green, which is a free, Music Concert Series that Cutlass Grille hosts so I believe that's what caused it to be busy. Plus, we saw a few graduates out there as well having graduation dinners. Overall, I enjoyed my food but we definitely picked the wrong day to go. If I'm ever in the area, I would probably return in hopes for a better dining experience.
