Getting a little emotional as I am typing this out. My daughter has been at Goomer for 2-ish years now, and now being promoted to public TK. When we first enrolled our daughter, we were at a very tough spot because the preschool she was at for 4 months was closing down. We scrambled to find a new spot. Reached out to numerous schools in a short amount of time, but Goomer stood out as a school we could trust. During our daughter's time there she has grown so much socially and academically. She's always learning something or simply having lots of fun. All the teachers there are so supportive. You truly feel like a family there. Our daughter was always in good hands. Goomer academy saved me from a LOT of anxiety. We had just moved with our 12 mo old and I was frantically checking daycares and nannies. Its been 5 months and im SO glad Goomer was offering an infant program and that we decided to go with Deepti and Katie. Their infant program with Dezi, Tina and others at the helm has been phenomenal. My heart fills with joy seeing my daughter interact with her little friends and how well she is taken care of. Deepti was there every single day my daughter was getting used to daycare and took really good care of her. My son joined Goomer when he was 4 year old because we moved in the neighborhood. Even during the tour, Ms.Deepti made all of us(including my son) feel at home. The entire team at Goomer is amazing. Along with art & craft and celebrating all of the festivals with singing and dancing, they have an amazing curriculum to cover all of the topics of kindergarten in preschool. Highly recommend Goomer Academy! My son started here when he was 3.5 till he went to Kindergarten. He had an amazing time, spending some of his formative years here. This is an honest opinion from parents who were about to consider groomers. We checked out multiple preschool nearby and groomers had solid reviews. The staff was very nice and I'm sure based on some of the previous reviews, the kids will get a solid education. We would highly encouraged and was really looking forward to sending our three year old here except for the following. As noted by another reviewer, the place is a little unsanitary. The bathroom had ants everywhere and it did not look like it was well maintain. The high traffic area walls were dirty. It is understandable that kids would be touching the walls often but the place just generally look like it had a lot of deferred maintenance. Lastly, there was a dead animal in the play area and it appeared to have been there for a few days. I hope this review from a prospective parent will encourage the staff to do a better job in maintaining their facility. My Son Ryan is currently a student. We have been with this Family for going on 2 years now. I describe this academy as Family because that is what we have experienced since day one. The love,care and attention to every detail when it came to my son meant the world to me. Ms. Katie is a Gem! My son loves her to pieces. Those are his words. I've been meaning to write this review for a few years and am finally doing it! Both my daughters attended Goomer Academy during summer and the school year. We were nothing but pleased with everything about them! They are just the right balance of academics, social skills, and expectations for appropriate school behavior to get them ready for elementary school. But they are also understanding of the young preschool age and are very nurturing and patient. They even include meals throughout the day in their pricing! I never felt guilty leaving my daughters in their capable, caring hands for the long hours that I had to. I am a teacher myself at the elementary school down the street, and I got the recommendation for them from a fellow teacher and parent. I actually had that teacher/parent's child in my class, and have had many others who have gone to Goomer. My child's current kindergarten class has many classmates from Goomer and they all have fond memories and bonds from being at Goomer together. A little more than two years ago I was looking for a preschool for my daughter with the following criteria: -Must be in Evergreen -Drop off on or before 7:50am -Offer half day program two days a week when she was 3 yrs old and half day 5 days a week when she turned 4. -Reasonably priced I was having such a hard time finding a good school that offered what I needed. As I left a disappointing tour at a nearby preschool, I randomly pulled into Goomer Academy on a whim. I walked in and immediately Ms. Deepti welcomed me, gave me a tour, and wowed me with how organized, clean, friendly, and academic her preschool was. When I saw all the programs and times offered I was sold! This school wasn't even on my original list, so I was glad something told me to pull into that driveway, maybe it was fate! In the last two years my daughter has never complained about anything here. She loves her teachers, especially the ones she has now in pre-k. My daughter has made so many friends, has learned so much, and is over prepared to enter kindergarten. I have a friend who is a kindergarten teacher and when I told her what my daughter was learning in preschool she said, "Wow, we don't even teach that in kinder!" Ms. Deepti Goomer is the owner and runs a tight ship over there. She does a great job managing her team. She is very hands on in the classrooms and is always looking for ways to improve and evolve. She is a highly educated woman who has two bright daughters of her own whom I've met at a couple of the events. Ms. Katie, who helps Deepti run Goomer, is also awesome! She has such a good sense of humor and a way with people. She is really down to earth and has a great rapport with the parents and kids. She also styles my daughter's hair really nicely, better than I ever could! Goomer offers the perfect blend of fun, creativity, and academics. I love the songs my daughter learns and sings for us at home. She's learned Chinese, Indian, and Spanish songs as well! Her class practices meditation, they learn sign language, and the school has a variety of parades, concerts, and social events for the families to attend throughout the school year. This preschool has a diverse group of students and staff and the teaching reflects that. My husband and I are teachers in the Evergreen School District, and I know four other fellow Evergreen teachers whose children attended Goomer with my daughter as well. There is something to be said for educators choosing to send their own kids to this school. My daughter graduates on Friday. I waited until the end of her two years here to write a review so it can be thorough and encompass our whole experience. I definitely recommend this school. I agonized over choosing the right school, and I know many other parents do too. I hope this review helps those parents out there who were like me, scouring the internet looking to find the right school for their child. I love this place:):):):) I'm a hard working Dad and I need a full day of work to make a living. Which means I need to drop off the little one early and pick him up at 5. I get report cards daily on what the little one has eaten, if he has napped and activities done for each and every day. There's always something to do here for the kids in class and on the play yard. My son attended pre-school at Goomer Academy and we all loved his experience there. From the start, I had a warm feeling about Goomer's when we walked in and saw the cheerful decor and heard singing coming from one of the classrooms (kids practicing songs for a holiday event). My son is quiet and generally has a hard time adjusting to new places, and the teachers were patient and kind with his first weeks, and he felt comfortable in no time. Through the year, they also helped him build in social and academic skills, and I appreciated that there was fun homework and reading available that matched what the kids were doing in school (and that it was optional!) One big challenge that came up during the year was that my son needed extra assistance with bathroom accidents at nap time, and the teachers went the extra mile with setting special alarms to help him remember to manage this - really over and above what I've seen anywhere else, and they were very kind and understanding about this - I do think the true measure of a place is how they handle both the good times and the bumps in the road, so this was A++ in my book. I appreciated the daily warmth and updates from teachers as well as Ms. Deepti and Ms. Katie. The regular holiday celebrations and field trips made the school feel like a family. Daily healthy meals and snacks (breakfast, snacks, and lunch) were included and really made my life much easier not to have to worry about this. My son will soon be ending kindergarten, he attended Goomer Academy from August 2016 to July 2017. At first, I wasn't​ sure if Goomer Academy was the school for my son. A few times he would not complete his work and he would have 1 on 1 sessions with the Goomer teachers finishing work. However, he rarely complained or did not want to go to school (of course mondays were tough). I could tell he enjoyed attending. At first I wanted to hold my son back a grade since he was a young kindergartner and I wasnt sure if he was prepared but after his mid semester parent teacher conference in kindergarten and after completing his first year of kindergarten, with a teacer who I believe is stern with some high expectations, I feel Goomer Academy well prepared my son for kindergarten. From singing songs and writing, to identifying colors, letters, shapes, days of the week/months and so much more. I feel the school had a good balance between academics and fun while catering to each child's needs. Mrs. Deepti is kind, caring and always knew what was going on with my child and the others. If Mrs. Deepti was not there which was rare then Ms. Katie was there and always available. Ms. Katie as well always knew how my sons day went. Ms. Katie and Mrs. Deepti work hard to make sure each child is being cared for. All the teachers are wonderful and they all work hard as a team ​to make sure all the children's needs are taken care of. read more

Goomer Academy is like family to us. My niece and nephew both attended for 3 years each, and my daughter has been there the past 3 years. Ms. Deepti is smart, warm, funny, and is very actively involved. She applies common sense and implements programs which are great for my daughter's development. Teachers are great and really care. My son went to this place until we we had to relocate to a different place for work reasons. He absolutely loved the time at Goomer and still misses it. The staff is very warm, affectionate and very disciplined at the same time. Even the director is very involved with the daily activities and individual students. Premises are bright and clean. They take extra attention to individual needs, almost feels personalized. They provide daily reports of what they did in the class that day, what the child ate and how much. I would strongly recommend Goomer academy. My daughter stayed in Goomer for 3.5 years, starting from 2 years old. During the 3.5 years I saw her grown up and made progress everyday because of Goomer. She learned speaking, writing, calculating, teaming with other kids, disciplined. This is all because of the incredible teachers in there, they are very patient, friendly, and always there when you ask questions, either in phone, email, or in person. My daughter made lots of good friends there. Even now she started K, she always asked me about Goomer. The summer school is also very fun. We love it here! My son currently attends preschool at Goomer and he loves it so much compared to where he was at previously. The decision to make the switch was positively impactful on our end. Sad to say he'll be leaving very soon and moving on to TK.. but we are expecting to put our daughter in preschool at goomers. Hello Parents, I was in your shoes few years ago when I had to send my baby to a pre-school. It felt quite daunting to let your little one be with somebody else/ someplace other than home for as long as 4 to 8 hours. At such times - Trust is the most important thing. I needed to trust the place and the people i.e. they were not in it, just for the money but they would be genuinely interested in the safety, well-being and of course the pre-schooling education of my child. When I first visited Goomer Academy - I liked the place of course. It had a gate which was securely locked. Was not on the main road as such, which was good I was a little surprised- that when I got the "tour", the teachers/ principal did not try to "sell the school" to me. But I nevertheless enrolled my daughter and it was the best decision I made. My daughter had an awesome 4 years there, followed by my son who too spent a good 4 years there! Here is what makes Goomer Academy stand out from the other places - 1. The Principal of the academy - Ms. Deepti Goomer is very involved 2. She knows the names of EACH kid in all the 3 rooms, and is also able to identify the parents (and even grandparents - if they are the ones that pick-up the kids) of each of the kids They have to sign in and out of course 3. She pays minute attention to each child and gives the correct advice. Example - While my daughter was always attentive in class, my son was a bit of a dreamer and she told me not to compare the two of them and not to panic 4. She pays personal attention to each child - and so she moved my son to the 'next room' only when she thought he was ready 5. She helps ease the kids in and makes the transition as painless as possible. Example - For the 1st few weeks - She even knew what my child had eaten (and not eaten!)...which was really good 6. Another example was - Once - when my son was playing in his class and bumped his face against another kid's head - she iced his lip quickly and helped calm him down, and then called and spoke with me at length to explain what happened, why, and the remedies taken 7. She also sent me a video clip from the room to show what happened (!)...So I am amazed at the attention to detail that she has, and the level of sincerity and dedication 8. The teachers also are very warm and nice - Ms. Judy. Ms. Somelin, Ms. Katie, Ms. Jasmine were some of the teachers that my kids learnt with. 9. The play area has a cork base...so if kids fall - they don't hurt themselves much All of these things make Goomer Academy special. My son went to Goomer Academy 6 years ago and graduated 3 years ago, and my younger daughter started 3 years ago and graduated this June. I think it's time for me to write my review for my experience over the last 6 years. The owner of the school is very patient and knowledgeable about kids education. Both of my kids were very happy going to school every day, and they had themed summer program to make the learning more fun. In addition to all the fun activities they had, they also learned a lot. My daughter Giovanna was attending Kindercare which was down the street from Goomer Academy, when we would arrive to KinderCare my daughter would get frighten & start crying I took the time out to find out what's going on with my sweet baby girl .when she told me she was getting bullied at Kendercare she said a girl has choked her several times . "I mentioned it to the teacher ,also brought it to the directors attention .The director found out who the little girl was when she found out the little girl was a year younger than my daughter she laughed and blew it off .younger or older there's zero tolerance for bullying . My review for Goomer Academy is long overdue. My oldest daughter started at age 3.5 and graduated last June. She now attends Tom Matsumoto. Goomer Academy has been a godsend for my husband and me. Like any other first time, protective parent, we were very selective as to where to send our firstborn child. We visited numerous pre-schools/daycare centers around the Evergreen area and Goomer Academy was the winning pick for us. Currently, our youngest daughter who is age 3 is now at Goomer and she is having just as much fun playing, socializing, and learning as her big sister. Ms. Deepti (owner), Ms. Katie, Ms. Sumalin, Ms. Judy, and the rest of the Goomer staff are amazing. They have a very attentive, loving, and caring demeanor. You can really tell that all the staff members genuinely care for your child. My husband and I consider them to be family. Whenever I have any concerns or requests regarding my daughters, they are very prompt to respond and are very accommodating towards my needs. For example, they offer a pick up service if your child attends kindergarten. My husband and I utilize this service when we both have to work long hours during the week and are unable to pick up our oldest from kindergarten. They pick her up in the afternoon after dismissal and drop her back at Goomer. Either my husband or I just pick up both our girls at the end of the day. The one thing that I applaud Goomer Academy for is their "curriculum." My oldest daughter was quite advanced and more than prepared once she started kindergarten at Tom Matsumoto. Several parents had asked me where my daughter attended pre-school because they were amazed at her ability to write all her numbers and letters well, do simple arithmetic, compose sentences, and even read books at a first grade level. I have to admit though that as parents, it is also our responsibility to work with our children at home by reading to them and doing fun educational activities. Goomer Academy does provide "tools" to help with that such as weekly book bags filled with 4 books. Goomer Academy does well with planning fun activities and field trips for the students. Every year, the students go to the Pumpkin Patch and Children's Discovery Museum. There are fun outdoor potluck celebrations during Thanksgiving and at the end of the school year. The kids have memorable singing concerts for Christmas and the Spring. There are special morning breakfasts during Mother's Day and Father's Day. Throughout the school year there are special days that are celebrated such as Dr. Seuss Day or Pajama Day. During the summer time, there are themed weeks such as science week or fairytale week where special activities are done and special guests or performers come to entertain the children. Lastly, the one thing I cherish and am so appreciative of Goomer Academy for is the unique memory book they create for each individual student. As working parents, it is always so hard for us to capture those special moments" our little ones experience. My oldest daughter was presented her memory book during graduation and it really touched my heart to see how much she had grown and developed in the 2 years she was enrolled at Goomer Academy. This is a fairly new Academy. What you first notice when entering the gate is the sad looking playground area for the small children. It looked neglected and boring....not much fun to play on. Then when you get inside the building itself, you're greeted by a "not so friendly" woman. She almost makes you feel like you're wasting her time with questions about the programs available. Like trying to rush you out the door again. If she isn't friendly to an adult, I cant imagine how she would be around the kids. I was told the turn-over with teachers is high (every few months)....I cant help but wonder why. The class rooms looked fairly clean. I wasn't able to see teacher and student interaction, as I came by during nap time. If you dont mind the dragon-lady in the front, the school appears to be okay. read more

Goomer academy. Im very impressed with the attention and genuine care my daughter gets there. The owner is very disciplined and organized and saw her conducting meeting with her staff regularly discussing about the kids. The staff genuinely cares for the kids and pay attention to all their activities. They provide an updated status report of the kid every day. Im very impressed and happy to place my child here. The field trips are a great highlight here. I have visited a lot of Montessori and other types of schools but this I feel has appropriate care, attention and child teacher ratio. My younger daughter attended preschool from Jan-2016 through Dec 31-2016 (M-F - whole day program) before transitioning to a private school. Goomer Academy was well recommended by my close friends - their kids attended prechool program and had wonderful overall experience. My experience resonates with my friends 100%. Here is a list of items I liked about Goomer. - It is a truly a happy place where my child thrived and looked forward to stay longer than the school hours. In fact at the end of a tough day at work, teachers' smiling faces brought a smile on my face (happened many times). I felt personally connected. - ALL teachers are nice. Not a single time I noticed unhappiness on their faces. If they disagree with my observations or findings, they pointed out in a positive way. - Diverse demographics. - I see some reviewers mentioned about uncleanness. Inside the classroom teachers follow strict hygiene. - I had direct interactions with Ms. Deepti, Ms. Katie, Ms. Cherry and Ms. Solemn (possibly misspelled!) and they were all professional; completely opposite of what one of the negative reviews indicated. If I had something I did not like and mentioned it directly to the teachers, my concerns were addressed and resolved directly. - My 10 year-old badly wanted to go after school just because everyone looked happy and she always felt welcomed there. - Great summer school program with fantastic fun shows. - Good quality food and at times when my child was late due to scheduled appointments (informed beforehand about the delay), they ensured her lunch was saved when she arrived. I never had to worry about food for my daughter. Once could argue about not having state of the art outdoor toys in the facility, I feel the facility is equipped with adequate outdoor play items/structure to keep children engaged. Perhaps I am old school, but I feel in early years children need genuine love, encouragement and positive environment to feel secured and learn basics (through activities and traditional curriculum etc.) more than shiny-off-the-shelf toys. My daughter has been going here for about a month, and I have been blown away by this school! I interviewed several preschools, and having been a preschool teacher I am extremely picky. I immediately felt comfortable with this school. They don't stress academics, but instead provide a safe, loving, routine-based environment for the kids, focusing on social skills with the kids, which I find so much more important at this age. Now, having said that, within this first month, my child has come home knowing all the days of the week, all the months, is telling me a million times a day what letters she sees and what sounds/letters words start with. She explained to me the water cycle using the words "evaporation, condensation, and precipitation" this week, and she gave my older son and me a lesson in geometry this morning, explaining to us that a square is also a rhombus and teaching him about cones and spheres and cylinders, etc. She loves going to school everyday! This preschool used to be a Christian teaching school. I was very skeptical when the school was sold to a non-christian owner and that the new owner changed the curriculum to non-faith teaching. I still gave her the benefit of a doubt and kept my daughter in the class to see what the new owner would to the class before deciding whether or not to switch school for my daughter. From day one, Mrs. Goomer showed her genuine commitment to the school and the kids. She organized field trips for Halloween and took the trouble to get permit to rent a school bus. Earlier this week she held 1:1 teacher/parent conference to share with parents the progress of each kid. Last week, I asked my daughter "Honey, do you like the new Goomer Academy?" She replied "No, I don't like it" I was concerned and ask her "Why don't you like it?" She said, "Mommy, I don't like it. I LOVE it!" That says is all. read more
