My wife and I had a little date night planned for a show at Goldfield Trading Post and decided to pregame properly at Goose Port. Excellent decision. First thing that happened when we walked in? A few members of the band we were literally about to see that night was just... there. Casually existing. We didn't bug them (we're cool like that), but that alone set the vibe. So yes, you might casually run into your favorite band before a show. No big deal. Now let's talk service. I didn't catch our waitress's name, but she was basically Superwoman in human form. She was serving multiple tables, including the band, moving nonstop, and somehow still checking in on us like we were her only table. Efficient, friendly, on top of everything. The kind of service that makes you immediately relax and think, "Okay, this is going to be a good night." Drinks came out fast and were actually good. Not "this will do before a concert" good. Actually delicious. Strong enough to feel it, smooth enough to order another. We ordered the asada tacos and sliders and both absolutely delivered. Perfect pre-show fuel. No regrets. No crumbs left behind. Goose Port set the tone for the entire night. Great drinks, great food, fantastic service, and a cool atmosphere that just feels right before heading into a show. My mom, sister, niece, and I recently visited Goose Port for the first time. It was kind of a gloomy, rainy day, that happened to fall on a holiday. As we entered the establishment we were greeted and seated quickly in the clean, spacious dining area. Our server was friendly and personable, and he did get us anything we needed. The owner, Al I believe was his name, happened to be traversing the dining room and greeted us and we had a nice conversation. This really made the visit a great experience! We ordered a variety of items. We started with fried pickles. I had the linguica sandwich, my sister and niece had burgers, and my mom had a protein bowl. Presentation of each of the items we ordered was excellent. The pickles, burgers, and sandwich were all very good. The protein bowl, however, had a big problem. There was an unpleasant odor emanating from the bowl. My mom was reluctant to try it... I examined it and the rice, chicken, avocado, and sauce all seemed great, but when I smelled the garbanzo beans I recognized what my mom was smelling. I can't hold this against the restaurant because my mom wouldn't let us inform the staff there was a problem with her meal, because the owner was so nice and accommodating. I failed to mention sooner that the owner actually treated us to a sample of the caldo verde (a Portuguese linguica, potato, and collard green soup) that was absolutely spectacular! Considering the service we received, and the kindness and generosity of the owner, I'm sure they would have been all too happy to replace my mom's meal, but alas she preferred to stay silent. There's no doubt in my mind, I will return to Goose Port to try some of their other offerings, and I'll definitely be ordering the caldo verde. read more

We've reserved this place for our team dinner during basketball tournaments in Roseville - we've come here 3 times now and we've absolutely loved it! Making a reservation by phone is super easy and staff is very friendly. The owner, Al Santos, calls back to discuss further details and confirms the order which I think is such a plus especially in a world where everything is digital. We can't say enough about Al's hospitality! And the fact that he is from Niles, we loved supporting a Bay Area native! Our reservations of usually 30 or more are ready for us when we come in - Al made sure there was a table for the team and then separate ones for the parents. They also accommodate different checks - not individual ones which is difficult but we batch together orders to make it easier on the staff. Drinks are solid and pour on the cocktails solid to generous based on what everyone received. Wait staff is friendly and attentive even when the rest of the restaurant is busy. Food is solid as well. We never felt rushed during our times there. The establishment is clean, has a nice atmosphere and offers outside seating as well. And if Al is there, he'll always come over and say hi and ask how things are going- definitely something we appreciate and it's what sets Goose Port apart! First time here on a Monday night. Parking tonight was easy. Comfortable place to talk or watch a game while getting a drink amd or some food. Plenty of TVs and wide open floor plan. Came for lunch on a drizzly Saturday (after stopping into another lunch spot downtown where we got bad vibes). Welcomed when we walked in, seated promptly, and knew we'd made the right decision to come to Goose Port. Our server answered all of our menu questions about the extensive menu. Was in the area for my kids' volleyball tournament and we had a big group of maybe 20 plus people adults and kids. They were so accommodating. It's super hard to split checks in big groups so what we did was have separate checks for the parent and the child, even though it was a huge pain in the ass for them. They still were so nice to us and accommodated us. The owner also came out to say hi and help serve. He's also from the Bay Area and is a San Jose alumni! Anyways on to the food. My baby girl got the poke nachos and the serving size for that is so huge I think it could have fed five people easily. I got the fish and chips and honestly this sounds kind of crazy, but I think it's one of the best fish and chips I've ever had. The beer batter is something else. It was super super crispy and the fish was tender and not over-cooked. The fries were also good. We needed a place that would take brunch reservations for a friend's "going away brunch" and after searching Yelp for a location, we decided on Goose Port. Goose Port serves good food and is a really nice place to watch Sunday Football. They have multiple TVs throughout the restaurant so you can't miss a beat during football games. Stopped in to Goose Port yesterday for a few hours!! Had made a reservation for 9 of us for my friends going away party!! Was not disappointed! We had a beautiful big table next to a tv to be able to watch football! The food was great and the service was really good!! I got a Bloody Mary that was very tasty. For food I got the Roseville breakfast burrito! It was huge and also came with potatoes! The owner came by and dropped off some bread with butter and jam! So nice! 10/10 for service! It was pretty funny that when I got there I said I had made a reservation and a few wouldn't be able to make it! I said 7 adults and one baby! They brought out a kids water! My family really liked this spot. We went here on a Monday and sat outside. My son loves trains and he got to watch them drive by while we sat outside. They had crayons for the kids to play with and even brought out an appetizer super fast so the hangry kids could eat right away. The food was perfect for the price and the customer service was really good. It's hard when the large family sits away from others. Sometimes we get forgotten about but they did a good job. We found free street parking 2 blocks away, but there are plenty of free parking options around the area. The place wasn't too crowded but also not dead. I like how they had the restaurant divided into the bar section and dinning room area. The menu had so many great options we kept changing our minds about what to order. Nice lunch spot, great service. Sat in the bar. I've been a lot more patient with small restaurants post covid. I'm just glad they still exist. In the end I gotta keep it a buck and provide a real review with an authentic narrative. Five (5) being as perfect as this category goes. I won't assume this experience would be in line with a high end steakhouse or some posh Vegas restaurant. This location is bar/diner/pub and I love em all as long as they can execute. Cleanliness was 3 out of 5. Drink choices were a 3 out of 5. I think you see where I'm headed here. It's an average establishment with average food and average drinks and beers. Not sure I'd go back for the food. The takeaway was like man, that place has so much potential. They just need a cast of people that can go hard and ask more questions and get it right. Speaking of which, the bar tender David today was awesome. He even let me humbly coach him up on what ingredients make a good Espresso Martini. ( the one he served was trash ) And he nailed it then I saw him sell two of em right away. Yay David! With the pic you see here , I requested fresh hot fries and received zero pushback. They came out in three minutes. I can see this place really being something dope once they staff the right people in the back and maybe make some modifications to the experience. For customers ordering at Goldfield Trading Post.... I would like to give this establishment the lowest review possible, not for the food because I have not tried it but for customer service. I attended a concert at Goldfield Trading Post on Tuesday, October 28th and was delighted the Bar had a QR Code to order food from Goose Port just a block away. This Goldfield does not serve food and they have a strict no ins and outs policy. I ordered a Vegan Burger by scanning the QR Code at Goldfield Trading Post. I received an e-mail confirmation along with a text confirmation stating that my order was received. The text stated that my order would be ready in 15 to 30 min. The bartender stated that I would receive a text as soon as my order was ready and I could pick it up at the bar. I waited close to an hour after receiving no update regarding my order. Note that it was impossible for me to call the restaurant because of the noise in the venue and I also could not walk over there because of the no in and out policy. I was stunned when I went up to the bar and asked for a status update regarding my order. They handed me a copy of my receipt and it said in handwriting "we are out of burgers and will issue refund in the morning". I was never notified via text, email or by phone that my order had been cancelled. In fact, by the time I learned that my order had been cancelled, it was too late to reorder a different item as the website was no longer taking orders for the night. I would have expected an e-mail along with a text stating that my order had been cancelled and a refund issued immediately. I checked my bank today October 30, 2025 and I have not been issued a refund. Also, I ordered tots with my burger and it would have been nice if I would have received the tots and got a refund for the burger. I would never order food from Goose Port at Goldfield Trading Post in Roseville. I have cross posted this review in hopes that others attending shows at Goldfield Trading Post will not order food from Goose Port. I called Goose Port today and left a message from the owner and I have not heard back. read more

I would say we've become regulars at this location. The service is always great and they are quick to communicate if anything is out. Regarding their alcohol, our server was quick to let me try something when I couldn't make up my mind on a drink. They are very accommodating and the food comes out quickly. The food is typical bar food. We had a party of four and had the sliders and fries, a Caesar salad, and the vegan Mediterranean salad. The beef sliders were on the dry side and didn't have a lot of flavor, but were slightly better than the pork sliders, which also lacked in flavor and moisture. The fries were lukewarm. The lettuce in the Caesar salad was not crisp and didn't look fresh. Probably should've been thrown out a few days ago. The croutons were decent. The Mediterranean salad was OK, but lacked a lot overall. The beers were very good and they have a nice variety. The server was very friendly and the service was very good.
