One of the best vacations our family has ever taken. Full week, and we hated to leave. The staff makes this place -- everyone from wranglers to kitchen crew seemed genuinely happy to be there, and running that many guests, meals, and activities without a hitch is impressive. The horses are exceptionally well trained, with rides suited to every skill level -- we were beginners and had a blast, while more advanced riders in our group were equally impressed. Highlights included river crossings deep enough to get our boots wet and watching the horses run to their weekend pastures -- genuine goosebumps. We also did clay/target shooting, archery, hatchet throwing, barrel racing, tubing, and line dancing -- felt like summer camp for adults. Food was great all week, cabin was spotless and comfortable. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome--super friendly and genuinely passionate about making sure everyone has a great time. Safety was clearly a top priority, especially when it came to the horseback riding and outdoor activities, which made us feel totally at ease. The cabins were clean, cozy, and had that perfect rustic charm without sacrificing comfort. The beds were so comfortable--I slept like a rock every night after long, fun-filled days. The food was amazing. Every meal felt hearty, fresh, and exactly what you'd want after a day in the great outdoors. You definitely won't go hungry here. The property itself is stunning--surrounded by breathtaking views that made it hard to put the camera down. And there's no shortage of things to do: trail rides, UTV tours, ax throwing, skeet shooting, line dancing--you name it. We were never bored. Went for a girls trip and had the absolute best time -- I can't say enough good things about this place!! The ranch is absolutely stunning and the cabins were incredibly clean and cozy. The staff were all SO nice and accommodating, and went out of their way to get to know all of us and make it such a special trip!! Every meal was fantastic and there were plenty of activities to fill up your schedule. We went in June right when they opened for the season and weather was fantastic, but we're hoping to come back in September next time so the river has warmed up!! Our first guest ranch experience and we were not disappointed. A beautiful log cabin lodge and guest cabins with all the amenities. The staff was warm and friendly and the food was beyond our expectations. The horses were so well cared for and seemed to bond with their riders quickly. They were excellent on beginner and more advanced trail adventures. The scenery was uncluttered by people and buildings - you are truly in the wilds of WY. All Of the guests that were there The same week as we were - strangers at the beginning - all were friends by the end. The other activities offered were delightfully fun - skeet, hatchet throwing, target practice and fly fishing - we tried them all. What a FUN place to have a bachelorette. I was looking for a little something different so forcing my friends to go to a remote area and spending lots of time outside with horses seemed like a great idea! They have adorable little cabins to stay in and it was perfect for our group of 8 (4 in each cabin). I will say our only disappointment was that the pool/hot tub is being remodeled right now. We didn't get a warning before arriving and they actually shared on the website that it was open this year after being closed last summer due to COVID. They give you a general schedule and you pick activities, we got to fly fish, shoot skeet, ride in the UTVs and horseback ride. The ranch hands and all the employees are so sweet and friendly, especially the girl who leads line dancing! They were enthusiastic with our group and we really enjoyed each and every activity! The food is phenomenal, exceeded my expectations and I was never hungry on this trip. The area is so beautiful and I wish we could have spent more time, if I was a more experienced rider I definitely would have done the all day ride! read more

We just got back from Goosewing Ranch and I am so sad I had to leave. Goosewing is perfect for a family or just a group of friends. I was so impressed with the staff and the wranglers. Hannah was our primary wrangler and for being so young she was very personable we had great conversations on our 2, 4 and 6 hour rides. The views are amazing from any of the trails. Carlos and Carlos fed us amazing food the Prime Rib and Lamb was out of this world. The cabin was comfortable and the beds are new and after a long beautiful day of riding they are perfect to relax. Goosewing Ranch goes out of their way to accommodate requests. I wanted a fan in my cabin and they made it happen. If you're looking for 5 star accommodations Goosewing Ranch is not for you BUT if you're looking for family friendly with several other activities besides horseback riding then this is the Ranch for you. The horses are top notch and the care they get is fantastic. I rode Girlfriend and she is perfect. I also rode Chaps and he's a couch. I highly recommend the arena games the Team Penning was a blast. Shooting and Hatchet throwing with Aidan and Jim was fun too. I can't wait to come back. Everyone and I mean everyone was kind and friendly. Our family spent a week at Goosewing Ranch and loved every minute of it. It was exactly what we wanted: a remote ranch, beautiful views, great staff and a lifetime of memories. Amy (the manager) has put together a fantastic staff in all areas. Bobby and Chris, Robin (the main wrangler), Jim the cook and his team (Bella, Anna, Allie, Jennifer, Danelle), and fantastic wranglers like Clara, Sofie, Will, Elise, Megan, Heather, Cindy, Chelsea, and many more in housekeeping (Ashley and Anna), front office, and grounds. It truly felt like we were all family! They were eager to accommodate all our requests and were attentive to all our needs. The cabins were great. The food was outstanding and plentiful. The horses and wranglers were amazing. Kevin, Brady, and Ethan ran great activities each night to add to the experience (shooting, fishing, hatchet throwing, line dancing, etc.). We went on horse rides every day and had beautiful views of the Tetons and surrounding mountains. There are not words to express how awesome this place is. The scenery is unbelievable. The most beautiful untouched place I have ever seen. The staff is amazing and are so responsive to any needs that may arise. They do their best to accommodate special requests (within reason) to make your trip as enjoyable, stress free and unique to you. All of the staff were energetic, fun, knowledgeable and positive. I wish I could remember names .. I am terrible with those. The food was fantastic every single night and the appetizers were out of this world. The activities were well organized and a lot of fun especially the Shodeo and team penning! The horses were beautiful and more importantly it was obvious they were loved and extremely well cared for. All of the wranglers were clearly horse people who cared for the animals, knew each ones names and personality traits and their skill sets were exemplary when handling them. I had Fiona all week and if I could buy her and have her shipped to SC I would The cabins were so clean and decorated in the "Wild West" vibe and the beds were like sleeping in a 5 star hotel! Having the Razor at your disposal to explore the ranch at your leisure was another amazing perk! I could go on and on but will close with you cannot go wrong here and we definitely recommend this place to any outdoorsy, active, animal loving (I forgot to mention Nibbles the goat who thinks he is a dog ) nature loving, adventurous people! read more

Cannot say enough positives about this place. We just got back from a weeks stay and it was an experience we will never forget. All of the staff were enthusiastic, fun and responsive to any issues. The wind had knocked something out on my hot water heater and it was fixed within 30 minutes. They are also so accommodating for requests (within reason) and do everything to try to make your stay as fun, stress free and unique to your personal interests. The food was fantastic every single time and the appetizers were out of this world. The cabins were clean and the beds were like sleeping in a 5 star hotel. They were uniquely decorated and put you in the "Spirit of the West" vibe! The horses were extremely healthy and obviously well cared for and loved and every wrangler were obviously skilled with horse riding, management and care. The service is 10 stars. The accommodations (cabins/lodge/stables etc) are top notch. The wranglers are so unbelievable I don't have words to describe the experience they gave. The activities rocked (we brought our three year old- no one died, cried or begged for the vacay to end). The owner and general manager are both so very very nice- warm and engaging. Do not go to this ranch unless you are elderly or don't know how to ride. This ranch is not for riders. We were told while booking that they had rides from beginners to advanced. 2-4 & 6 hours each day. A total lie. There is not much else to do there and tho the staff Kristen Audrey Cindy and will we're excellent as well as the chef. Even tho the other staff members talked alot of trash about him in front of the other guests Jim's food was fabulous !!I cannot say the same for the manager Amy. I witnessed her being rude and condescending to an elderly woman who complained that none of the hot tubs were in working order ! She also cursed and gave me a hard time when I asked about the advanced rides. Amy should not be in the hospitality business. Oh did I mention the mice in the cabin. Epic failure don't go to this ranch. There are so many others , choose any one but this one! read more

Me and my mom spent a week here and it was great! You get your own little cabin with your own personal little off-roading Gator, which are really fun to explore the mountains with. There's no TVs or internet IN the cabins (although sometimes you can get a little internet from your cabin) but the main house has all that. The food is fantastic. It's 5 star restaurant food for dinner every night, but it is quite meat-heavy (I actually ended up asking for their vegetarian option halfway through the week just because I couldn't stomach much more meat!). They are also super helpful if you have any dietary needs, you just have to warn them before you come. My mom and I are both avid horse riders so we mostly did the advanced rides each day and really enjoyed them, but they also offer all different kinds of rides each day and sometimes will do personal ones if the ranch isn't too busy. If you don't like riding they have a really nice pool and hot tub (which is also super nice if you've been riding for 6 hours too!). And they also do "activities" each day which you can choose to participate in. The best thing about the whole camp is just how nice and accommodating the whole staff is. They really do whatever they can to make sure you have a good time. read more

We arrived mid-way through a 9day adventure in WY. We were traveling with two kids (7 and 11 yo) and meeting friends with their two kids and we had the trip of a lifetime. Amazing staff, the most comfortable beds you could EVER imagine, fantastic horses, excellent foods, lots of fun activities for us all -- even the horse-haters (eek!) among us. Three nights really is too short, and they have little-to-no activities on arrival or departure days, so factor that in. It's a major schlep (although gorgeous drive) from Jackson to the ranch (19+ miles on dirt roads). Even with that, I'm ready to return. Tomorrow. Or today! Katie (my stubborn horse) and Katy (the fantastic wrangler) made the trip even more fun. All in all, A+, four stars! Seriously. It's worth it. Go. read more

We had a reservation at Goosewing Ranch from Wednesday, July 6 - Saturday, July 9. Unfortunately, my husband was admitted to the hospital on Sunday, July 3 with a serious staph infection that was spreading throughout his leg from a cut. He was not released until Wednesday, July 6 and will continue to return to the hospital for at least the next 2 weeks to receive IV antibiotics and wound care. When we reached out to the ranch to explain our situation and provide medical documentation from the hospital, the manager, Amy, was unsympathetic and was actually rude. We were not asking for a refund, however, to postpone the trip for a later date when my husband was able to travel. Amy rudely told us that there was nothing she could do for us and that we would be charged the whole amount and could not move the date. I understand they have a cancellation policy; however, this was a unique and scary situation for our family. When we reached out to the other hotels and provided our medical documentation, they fully refunded us, even though they had cancellation policies. My husband and I deeply disappointed, but moreso for Amy's lack of empathy and rudeness. We were truly excited about our visit, however, will never consider going to the ranch at this point. read more

Three generations of our family just got back from a week at Goosewing. Our stay was fantastic from start to finish. The cabins were great with wonderful views. A big "shout-out" to Clint from all 10 in our party for the wonderful meals. Since we have a chef in our family - this praise is not to be taken lightly. The youngest generation (3 teenagers and a 10 yr old) were busy from morning til night and were never without big smiles on their faces. From horseback riding under the direction of the great wranglers, to hatchet/knife throwing, to line dancing, the kids were engaged in new activities and meeting new people. At all levels, the staff was welcoming and helpful. With each cabin having a designated ATV for use during our stay, we all had the opportunity to explore the gorgeous geography around the ranch. This was a very special vacation for our family that was made even more special by all of the wonderful people who work at Goosewing Ranch. This was truly a trip to be treasured forever!! read more

Goosewing Ranch was a great experience for our whole family. As a bunch of novice horse back riders, Goosewing trained us to ride horses with confidence. While we were not expert horsemen by the time the week ended, most of us became competent to ride long distances and at varying speeds. Positives: * Location: It's hike from the Jackson airport but well worth it. * Staff: 5 Stars. We have NEVER experienced consistently excellent staff anywhere in our travels. The support, patience, flexibility and enthusiasm was great for all ages. * Facilities: Great set-up, even a pool and hot tub after a long day on the trail. Cabins were comfortable. Water tasted great. Common dining room worked well and encourages intermingling. * Horseback riding: The facilities (arena, horses, trails) were excellent. The wranglers knew their horses and how to ride them. Wranglers would work with all ages to get the riders comfortable using their horses through games and training. Bonus activity: Rangers (off road vehicles) were a great option if you wanted to explore the trails off of a horse. Negatives (mostly minor): * Horseback riding: The only minimal complaint was that sometimes the horses did not always match the riders but they could be changed out. * Bring Deet. There are lots of mosquitos when the sun starts to set. * If you don't ride horses, your options are limited to hiking or the rangers. I was hoping for more fly fishing. * Internet: Do not expect to do much online. It's a satellite connection so its really slow. * Really young children will not get the most out of Goosewing. I'd suggest at least 8 years old or older to really experience the horseback riding and trails. Any younger, the children will largely have to stay in the arena unless they can control (or at least influence) their horses and are accompanied by more experienced riders. read more
