I have walked by Gordo's numerous times and seen their amusing social media posts but it took awhile for the stars to align. It's a little pricey for dessert but if you're in the right mood it's manna from heaven. So you want to be hungry. I finally tried Gordo's on a recent outing. It was early evening and there was a crowd but enough room to sit down and enjoy your treat after you order from the kiosk. I had the Dubai chocolate (pistachio sauce, chocolate, kunafa) mini pancakes and added chocolate ice cream and strawberries, because I can. There are lots of ice cream flavors and toppings to customize. Kids and adults alike will enjoy this. The food is delicious as well. The pancakes make a good conduit for the ice cream and toppings. Ordered Gordo's for the first time, my cousins love them. I had their Cinnamon Toast Crunch with adding biscoff Cookes inside. So my partner and I were waiting in line for more than 15 minutes, we were looking at the menu tryin to decide what we wanted and the young man working the front did not acknowledge us. I think that was poor customer service. He could have at least said, "sorry we are short staff, I will be with you shortly." Several ppl walked in after us and when he did finally pay attention to the cash register he went ahead and took their order first, never once asked us what we wanted. I ordered the Nutty Nana which came with Puppy Chow Ice Cream topped with Reese's peanut butter cups, nuts, Reese's butter, bananas, and whipped cream. It was delicious! 10/10 recommend if you are a peanut butter lover! One thing I love about their bubble waffles are they always come out fresh! Service is timely and the workers are very friendly. This was my first time ever trying a bubble waffle, and wow Gordos made it worth trying! The waffle was made warm and had a very sweet taste almost melting in your mouth with the ice cream. LOVE Gordo's Bubble Waffles. It's in our neighborhood, so as soon as we tried it out, we inevitably can't avoid it now. It's become part of our Friday tradition - dinner, drinks, ice cream at Gordo's. I can't help but the get the s'mores buffalo waffle in a box, substitute the ice cream with chocolate. I intend to try different flavors, but for now, the s'mores is my vice. There are options to get a regular waffle cone or scoops, but if you stop by, I'd say it's definitely worth indulging on the bubble waffles! Gordo's Bubble Waffles: Located in the heart of Bay View (with a second location on the Marquette Campus), this trendy ice cream shop boasts not only a variety of ice cream scoops, but also their famous "Bubble Waffle" sundaes. The shop itself has a fun and welcoming atmosphere with friendly employees, striking artwork, and contemporary music. Although there were quite a few sundae options I would like to try, the one that stood out the most was their "Cookie Monster". The Cookie Monster is a scoop of cookies n cream ice cream topped with crushed OREOs, whipped cream, drizzles of Nutella & icing, all wrapped in a Bubble Waffle. I was immediately enthralled by the size and beauty of my sundae. To begin with, the crushed OREOs were not just a sprinkling of cookie dust, but almost entire halves of OREOs. Not purely for aesthetic purposes, the drizzle of Nutella and icing packed more sugar and flavor along with the light and fluffy whipped cream. Taking my first bite, I was startled to discover that the Bubble Waffle was still warm! In retrospect I probably should have expected that, but I've never had a Bubble Waffle and I was anticipating it to be similar to a waffle cone. The freshly made Bubble Waffle is not only warm, but soft and chewy with a slightly buttery flavor. Honestly, the contrasting temperatures actually works pretty well, other than the fact that it gives your dessert a short life expectancy due to the melt time. This brings me to my only two cons, which are both just personal preferences. First, you have to eat it quickly and I prefer to slowly savor my food. Second, I'm kind of frugal (I struggle with justifying $5 for Crumbl) and at $12 it is a bit pricey (ice cream scoops seemed on par with other area ice cream and custard shops though). I still say it's worth the indulgence to try at least once or on a special occasion. I know I'll be back for some of their other options at some point. Went with the Ferraro flavor (it's also a new one). You can ask to switch out the vanilla ice cream for chocolate, which was nice. The dessert was so good! The ice cream on top with the warm, soft waffle below was a delicious combo. I'd say for us, one cone was enough for 2 people. Almost $13 per cone does seem a bit hefty but not too bad once in a while. They also have shakes and regular scoops as well. Staff were very nice and helpful. We stopped by on a Sunday night for some treats. The place was pretty busy and all the all the tables were full, so we sat in the back until some of them cleared out. We got our order in right away and it wasn't too long before we recieved our food, and grabbed a table. It was pretty quiet inside, all you could hear were people talking. It would be nice to have some background music to mask some of the conversations going on. The staff was friendly, but quiet, it felt like a place that would be a little bit more upbeat, but blame it on Sunday night. We had the fruity pebbles bubble waffle cone and the nutty nana mini pancakes. Both were very good and would definitely get again! They have a variety of items on the menu including 10 types of bubble waffle cone, scoops of ice cream with a ton of toppings to choose from, shakes, and different coffee drinks. The prices are very reasonable. I kept it simple on my first visit and tried the strawnella which was simple in ingredients and flavors but was amazingly good. They just opened up and it was a perfect, sweet treat. I got the strawnella, which was the bubble waffle, with vanilla ice cream and strawberries and then drizzled with Nutella. It was indeed as good as it sounded and tasted. The bubble Waffle itself was warm, fluffy, and light! Interior is cute, trendy, modern, with some fake grass on the wall and light up signs. Service was prompt, extremely friendly. My only suggestion was that the music was super loud and we were there?
