While the burgers are a great choice, my personal favorite is the grilled cheese. I also love taking home a quart or half-gallon of custard every few weeks--it keeps well in the freezer and is perfect to enjoy later. One thing to know before you go is that there isn't any indoor seating. Since it's more of a grab-and-go spot, the waiting area can get pretty crowded, especially during the colder months. Despite that, it's absolutely worth the visit. I would highly recommend Kopp's to anyone visiting the Milwaukee area!

Having tried them for the first time, I have to say, I can completely understand why they would say that, even without prior knowledge. I could definitely see the potential from the first bite of the burger. Patties were cooked right and gave me pleasant feeling of decent bite, except for being a bit bland. Buns definitely did not add anything to the totality of the burger, staying consistent with what everyone says. Made me wonder what kind of buns they used to use that made it better. Did not care for the soggy, green leafy part of lettuce they shoved into it. Like a normal person, I prefer a bit of crunch in my burger lettuce, but it did nothing but take away from the experience. I was sold on the idea of fried onions, but my onions didn't look or feel fried. Maybe my expectations were different on what fried onions meant? I was imagining deep fried battered onions, but maybe what I got was non-battered fried onions. Either way, it didn't leave any impression. I think I also made the mistake of asking for ketchup and mustard without specifically asking just how much. My burger ended up being too sour due to too much of both. I think I read on their website somewhere that I was supposed to be able to taste the specialness of their Wisconsin cheese, but everything else about the burger was so overpowering that I barely could tell if there was any cheese at all. Fries were SUPER soggy from the get go. I *only* brought the bad outside to open it immediately after grabbing them, so it wasn't like they stayed in the bag long enough to get soggy. Now.. having said all that. Custards were amazing! Definitely at the top of my list of frozen custards I've had thus far. The girl at the counter had me try both the daily specials and both were super good. So good that I'll probably drive my girls an hour out here just to buy them custards, especially as it gets warmer. If it were just for burgers and fries, I might have given them two stars. But since the name of the institution is Kopp's Frozen Custard, I'm more inclined to be a bit forgiving.. I had them at 3 stars originally, but I think I'll bump it up to 4, landing them personally at 3.5.

They are so willing to help you try different flavors until you find the right one! In addition, the ice cream is so fresh and creamy making there ice cream one of my favorites in the city! So on a nice day worth sitting outside on their patio and enjoying a nice ice cream from joy!

AND it is $18 a quarter, $6 more than a regular flavor! Gilles Jamo custard can't come close to Kopps Baileys custard. And Kopps doesn't raise the price on a specialty flavor. Gilles food is always good tasting & quality. The regular flavors of custard is good. But Jamo isn't worth it in my mind.

I actually thought that was the party food for the night and was quite satisfied with my little serving when I noticed pizza was being served. The pizza was absolutely delicious. I tried the sausage and the pepperoni with jalapenos. I usually don't like pepperoni. This was fabulous! It had a job of sweetness to it and the tiny pepperonis weren't bitter and overpowering. The jalapenos added just a little punch and the slice was perfectly balanced. I truly enjoyed it and I haven't enjoyed pizza since college back in the 1980's! We were treated to a cotton candy glitter puff to drop in our warm mulled wine. I'm adventurous so I tried it! I enjoyed the beverage but I'm not sure if the cotton candy added anything to the drink. It was super sweet but I LOVE super sweet wine so that was fine by me! The fact that the beverage was warm made it perfect in my opinion. The glitter bomb part -- I'm not so are about.
