With a focus on traditional German beer we really enjoyed visiting Gordon Biersch Brewery. It is also a restaurant, but we came here for the beer. There are plenty of seating options inside, and when the weather is nice there is a decent outside area. The bartender was very friendly & engaging. There were 9 beers on tap and we enjoyed 3 of them. The Winterbock was the best, with it's smooth, malty and just slightly sweet flavor. It was so good I had to get this to go in a growler when I left. Then we also enjoyed the Schwarzbier dark "black beer" and the Hefeweizen. We did snack on a large Bavarian pretzel with 3 different dipping sauces - Marzen cheddar fondue, creamy bacon, and mustard. The pretzel was served just perfectly warm and the cheddar fondue was delicious. Friendly service, great beer, and decent prices, we would return to Gordon Biersch Brewery. read more

This was a bit disappointing on our visit today. We were greeted and seated timely and the waitress was very pleasant. We were given menus but there were no beer selections on the menu (unusual for a restaurant that touts they are a brewery). When I asked the waitress for the beer selection she started naming of beers like Budweiser, Miller etc. when I asked for their beers she said oh our brewery has been down for a while. Well that would have been nice to know when we were greeted. They did have acceptable choices of craft beer on tap. We ordered beer and one of our party did not get their beer with other drinks. When asked the waitress was surprised and went to the bar to find out that they had to change the keg and it arrived shortly thereafter although I had already finished half of mine. The Brussels sprouts appetizer was good. We ordered the chicken tenders appetizer but a few minutes later the waitress came out and said they were out of that as well. We then ordered the chicken schnitzel sliders that were very average. Service was slow(ish) and nothing special. We have been here numerous times over the years and this was not very good compared to past visits. With so many options in the area we were very disappointed and will look elsewhere going forward. read more

Was looking forward to a pleasant meal here but unfortunately this was not the case. There were multiple instances where our server told us that they were out of stock of ingredients for our drinks or meals, or stated that the current menu that they were giving customers was out of date and that they did not have that item. Our water was never refilled and little to no attention was paid by our wait staff to our table. As 3 of the 4 entrees were being delivered we were approached by the waiter and manager to inform us that they just realized that they do not have the necessary ingredients to make the final entrée. They ended up comping the final meal, but they had to eat it alone as the rest of our party had received our meals at least 15 minutes before they got their food. I appreciate the willingness of management to attempt to resolve the issue in a customer friendly way, but overall a poor dining experience. read more

Ate at GB Sunday night with my hubby. Seated quickly. Liked the ambiance and our server was great. It's Sunday so I'll let it go that we were the only non senior citizens in the dining area. My husbands ribs were delicious. My Poke Bowl (such an easy dish) was way too salty so I got some lemon and basically choked down the perfectly good Tuna ruined with salty garlic sauce. They have about 15 items on the whole menu so every item should be great for bar food. They only had 3 items for dessert which we ordered the creme brûlée cheesecake. Mistake. That does not really go together. So all good except 66% of the meal a complete fail. If I had read the reviews I definitely wouldn't have gone. These guys need to redo their menu. It's a sports bar, brewery, with bar food. It looks like GB needs to carefully look over their operation or they will be out of business sooner than later. read more

Great beer and food. I thought my ahi tuna salad was perfect and the wasabi dressing wasn't too spicy. Their Hefeweizen beer was also crisp, served in the right glass, and had a great balance of banana and wheat, and paired well with it. I still stand by what I've said about the brews here (see below) and I recently came in for more than just drinks or maybe an app. My mom recently moved to Myrtle and after we finished for the day we were looking for dinner that didn't have a drive thru. Gordon Biersch was still serving so we went in for dinner with a group of 5 adults and a child. When the first three of us arrived, we told them we had 3 more coming which was fine. They took a little longer than expected and the waitress started hinting that if they didn't order by a specific time, that the kitchen would be closed. We weren't trying to keep anyone there late but give me a break on a few minutes if that's what it comes down to. After moving all day we were tired and beaten, not really in the mood for an expensive meal or fine dining. Not that this place is fine dining but, I was surprised at some of the prices on the menu. I was eying the tuna entree but figured it wasn't necessary and opted for the cheaper pasta entree. The waitress told me they were out of pasta... what!?! How is that even possible? After being put on the spot to change my mind, I scrambled and went back to the tuna. I didn't even look again at the menu and asked what came with it. She said the quinoa and kale salad and a side. I went with the grilled veggies. When my dish came out, it was missing the veggies. I think that maybe it didn't come with a side in the first place but I was going off of what she said. They corrected the issue and brought out a huge side of veggies. They were a bit late but they fixed the issue. For the price I felt like the amount of tuna was a little light but it was tasty. Nobody seemed to have any other issues with their food and the service, although a little off, was pleasant. I would try them again Main dish: CBLT. Chicken BLT. Why would you use shredded lettuce??? Cajun Fish Taco. The shell was filled with shredded lettuce. The top (almost 1/2") was the fish component. Things have changed ! One you ask for your 12.00 burger medium it comes out well done and then upcharged for sweet potato fries and get 10 fries on my plate . I am not Any more than 115 lbs and was not full. Then you have a bartender that goes missing from behind the bar and it was the only time it was nice cause she is loud and just ridiculous trying to hard to be someone she is not . Be her age ! Good evening! Let me just start off by saying that I truly hate to complain I am the type of person who will ask to see a manager and be willing to wait 15 extra minutes just to share about my good experiences in their restaurant. This evening I dined at your Myrtle beach location around the 7pm hour. Just an initial observation, when we entered the restaurant there were two hosts one of them sitting on a stool with her nose buried in her phone and didn't even look up. We were seated but sadly we waited for 20 minutes before anybody acknowledged us! When our server (Dylan) visited our table he left a quick unempathetic apology nothing seemed heartfelt about it. We ordered our food and was eventually delivered to our table. The food was very tasty we enjoyed it. Dylan never returned to check on us and never asked us if the food was correct etc... When Dylan did eventually return he asked if he could get us anything else my glass had been empty for a while but since he didn't offer to get me another beverage I had to ask him. My dinner date had ordered a beverage from the bar and was never asked if they would like another. Before we had even completed our meal Dylan delivered our check and never asked if we wanted anything else. When we left guess what? That host was still sitting perched on the stool with her nose buried in her phone she looked up long enough to say "have a good night" and then went right back to her phone. Our experience in your restaurant was less then to be desired to say the least. I realize that in the service industry everybody is hurting for proper help I totally get that. This wasn't just a staffing issue it was a customer service issue. If you deliver excellent customer service that out weighs everything else in my book and I can overlook sitting for 20 minutes feeling like I am being ignored. I am able to overlook waiting extra to get a refill because server is tending to other tables. In my personal opinion this is a poor management issue. I saw no management presence in the restaurant this evening. Nobody came around and thanked me for choosing Gordon Biersch to dine this evening and checking on our dining experience. Poor management can sink a ship quickly if they are not holding their staff accountable while maintaining high standards. In this economical time your guests are being extremely picky what they do with their extra funds and cutting back. (We spent $53.41 plus tip) Also, keeping in mind that we have a plethora of additional dining options but we chose Gordon Biersch to spend our hard-earned money. read more

Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant is located at Market Common in Myrtle Beach. It's in a quaint little village setting that I really like with many restaurants and upscale shops. The reason we picked this place for lunch was because it was a beautiful day and they have outdoor seating which I love. This company has many many venues across the country. I usually go to small locally owned places but this place looked very nice. I shared with my DH a Grilled chicken, bacon, swiss cheese, crispy onions, tomato, lettuce and avocado mayo on toasted ciabatta with Garlic Fries. $10.99 and each of us had soup of the day Cream of Tomato soup DH had Chicken Soup. All was very good. This is a very nicely decorated place the outside tables were high top tables... just an all around nice place and would go again. read more

This might sound crazy to some on a brewery review, but if it matters to you, you're welcome. BEST. SALAD. EVER. I didn't really know what to expect from this spot and I was pleasantly surprised. My wife had the California Cobb Pizza, at least that's what she says it was. It was gone before I could get a good look at it. The service was great and my Gorgonzola Pear Salad was exactly what I like: warm & flavorful chicken, cool & crunchy veggies, great tasting fresh pear and a great dressing. For dessert, the Bread Pudding got rave reviews from across the table and my brownie was great as well. This place isn't cheap, but the price was certainly reasonable for what we got. I love this place! Everytime my wife and I are in Myrtle Beach this the first restaurant we come to... I mean EVERYTIME. This is a brewery however in in my opinion this is just a really good restaurant that serves amazing drinks but happens to make their own beer. They have the best happy hour I've ever seen. It's so simple yet so brilliant. $3 Beers (every beer on the menu) $4 wine (2 to choose from) and $5 cocktails (every cocktail on the menu) from 4pm to 7pm EVERYDAY. They also have have wings and appetizers on the app hour menu as well. I loved it so much that when I went to New Orleans on business and saw that they had a location I opted to pass on the delicious Cajun food for one night. Everything I've had here it's just been awesome! Tonight my wife and I try something new as an appetizer and it was awesome. When you come here you have to try their garlic fries. They say they're legendary for a reason! Tip: Dip em in their freshly prepared ranch dressing. Next level: Dip em in both ranch and ketchup. Mind = BLOWN! Tonight I got the Marzen wings (their version of Thai chilli made with their house brewed Marzen beer. What did I dip em in!? You guessed it! The freshly prepared house ranch dressing! #Delish. I love the fact that the fries come into denominations; large and regular where you can get either 10 or 5 wings. I also got a steak taco. I love the fact that you can order an individual one or a full order of three. Since I wasn't that hungry I only got one. Also delicious. If you're not one for spice I recommend to getting the sriracha sauce on the side but don't get it without it. It's a match made in heaven. Usually I enjoy the atmosphere of the covered patio at Gordon Biersch very much. I had been looking forward to having lunch with my friend here today but was very disappointed in my experience. The entire patio was filled with dogs and they barked at each other and at other dogs walking by throughout our lunch. Went to this place with my family for a table of 6. I spoke to the hostess, which absolutely knew nothing about the restaurant industry at all. Waited over 35 minutes to be seated when they sat other people and there was tables free everywhere. Their excuse was the chef has to be notified when people are seated. This is not how a restaurant works nor should people be told that as customers as well. This place is a complete disaster and has no clue how to run a business whatsoever and this is why places like this should go out of business. These people were not appreciative workers and they had no clue on customer service and they were dirty looking as well. Management really needs to look at how this place is run. I've been coming here since market common was open and they have just gone down the drain a complete disaster and the people that work there are poor excuse for customer service.
