[[HIGHLIGHT]]would not recommend wasting your time booking a color consultation here if you're looking for a welcoming experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I met with Stacy for a color consultation and immediately felt like I was being discouraged from booking with her.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After showing her a photo of what I wanted, one of the first things she told me was that she was the most expensive stylist in the salon. I told her that was fine and asked for a quote. She came back with a quote of $560 for the color service, which I agreed to. When I asked about adding a haircut, she said it would be around $680 total, and I agreed to that as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Instead of moving forward with scheduling, she seemed annoyed and asked when I wanted to book.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I told her I wanted the soonest available appointment. She said she wasn't available until June 30 and then immediately started suggesting other stylists in the salon who could do it sooner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] June 30 wasn't even that far away, and I had no issue waiting for her availability. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The entire interaction gave me the impression that she simply did not want to take me on as a new client.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]If that was the case, I would have preferred she just say so directly rather than being dismissive and making me feel unwelcome.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I've never had a consultation where I felt so much like I was being talked out of booking an appointment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There may be talented stylists here, but based on my experience with Stacy, I left feeling uncomfortable, unwelcome, and like my business wasn't wanted.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] read more

I live nearby and decided to finally check this place out. Every part of the experience was well-done from scheduling to check-out. Theo, the manager, was at the front desk and very welcoming, friendly, and attentive. The overall vibe of the salon is very relaxing. My stylist was Macy, who was fantastic. She listened to my hair concerns and goals, personalized my experience to help address it. She suggested adding on a hair treatment in a way that was very non-pressured, transparent about cost, and time. I'm really glad I took the recommendation as a I see the difference it made in my hair health. She gave me addl specific recommendations for what I can do at home to help maintain it. Oh and I love my haircut! I've been to other Aveda salons so I'm accustomed to the lovely tea, little hand massage, etc but the friendliness, professionalism, quality of service, and overall experience surpassed my expectations. A month ago, I booked a wash, cut, and blowout. I arrived today and explained that the left side was longer than the right and could the stylist level them out evenly. He proceeded to make a few dry cuts, which I thought was preliminary shaping, prior to my service. However, he then informed me that my service was complete and I was only listed for a 15 min dry cut, even though this was not what i scheduled. The stylist was polite and arranged for his assistant to wash my hair and someone else to complete the blowout. During the wash, the makeup on the right side of my face got washed off. The prep spray for the blowout soaked my face and phone. And after repeated attempts to tell the stylist just to do a plain bob blowout, she kept shaping my hair in a bouffant. I ultimately left and visited another salon to fix the left versus right disparity of my hair, as the issue did not get addressed during my visit. The entire experience felt rushed an unprofessional leaving me feeling like an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. I will not be returning. read more

Over price for their jobs! Can't believe I paid $425 Never had a bad perm and curly haircut! This is the first time in my life. 1) I set down and show her what hair cut I want after the perm. I said " as you see I have already have a bad hair cut. Can you cut this " she said " yes, and my haircut is $110" . I said okay because I thought she was going to cut that style. But instead she just trimmed and left my hair disconnected. Keeps asking me " should I cut more , do you want more layers ?" I told and showed her what I want before she starts! No need to ask me anything. 2) The perm was loose. As you see perm is terrible. She says she has been doing this for years. That is totally lie or she doesn't get any better on her job. She did piggypack but even the style wasn't piggypack perm that she was doing. She also put towel on my hair when she put my hair under the heat. She shouldn't! Please Watch a video. I've been seeing Maggie since she first got her license and have followed her everywhere she's gone, so I'm thrilled she landed at Gordon Salon! The salon is beautiful, super clean, and has such a welcoming, modern vibe. I've had numerous blow outs here with the blowscription. Both Morgan & Emily give me amazing blow outs! I have very long thick hair & am very particular with my blowouts. I want lots of volume, bouncy, silky, shiny & not sticky. Emily has gave me this about 10x now! What really sets this salon apart from others is the cleanliness! I even love the smell of this salon! ALSO- someone is usually offering hand massages WHILE you get your hair done. These are HEAVENLY!!! Between that & the scalp massages- you will feel truly relaxed! I had a disappointing experience! I would not recommend any service to anybody because I left with dissatisfied. I just sat down and I was informed by my stylist that there will be no body to help dry or style my hair. ( I was aware that they charge extra) Next thing she looks at my hair and tells me there will be $18 because my hair was thick. It's not the $18 that bothered me but the way I was informed and the attitude. I was already paying $95 for root touch up. She spent 20 minutes doing my root touch up and let me sit there to process. Never talked to me to find out how I felt or if I had any concerns. While I sat there to process she had already done two other people's color and then the front desk lady ( who was very nice) came and washed my hair and I basically dried my hair and left! This is an update to my prior review of Stacy at Gordon Salon Lakeview! As you can see, I am still rocking the blond hair Stacy set me up with back in May of 2021! I don't think that I will ever go back to my dark natural hair. Stacy still is the ONLY person I trust to keep me looking presentable in 2023. She cuts and colors my hair exclusively since she came to to be a part of the talented team at Gordon Salon Lakeview! Stacy is the person to see if you are looking for a change... big or small! No hair challenge is insurmountable when you are sitting in Stacy's chair. From her expert advice to the end results... Stacy is the most professional stylist (over 25 years of experience!) AND excellent listener. This means that she can wade through anyone's explanation of what they are envisioning for their new or updated look. I know that I do not speak with the proper terminology within the "hair world" and Stacy can always listen and determine what I am trying to describe and make it come to fruition! Styles may change but the one thing that won't change for me is the choice of visiting Stacy for her amazing color and haircuts!
