I came for the mega cinnamon rolls and cronuts... but I stayed for the tacos!!! Social media in Pittsburgh has been full of content about Gordo's baked goods. The cinnamon rolls are massive and iced to perfection and the cronuts are plentiful in flavors that could entertain every palate. I grabbed a Maple Cinnamon Roll and the daily special Biscoff Cronut. My friends grabbed a Classic Cinnamon Roll, the Raspberry Cronut, and a Cosmic Brownie. But as we were getting out bakery goods boxed up, we decided to check out the menu and grab lunch here too!! Glad we did.... Gordo's small but mighty menu had so many options that we wanted to try!!! I ordered three individual tacos - Cheeseburger, Loaded Potatas Bravas, and Nashville Chicken. My friends also ordered the Chopped Chicken Caesar Wrap. The FOOD slayed!!!! Everything fresh - everything seasoned to perfection!! The dining room is massive with many different options and nooks to sit in! They have TVs everywhere which were great for the World Cup viewing! These cronuts were incredible. My new fave donut in Pittsburgh. I also got a biscuit bomb. I got the bacon, egg, cheese and potato one, I liked it but wish I had some hot sauce with it. We got there right when they opened in a Sunday and I'd personally recommend waiting a bit because all the Cronuts weren't out yet and they put other ones out after we ordered. The menu listed appetizers (e.g., wings), pizzas, tacos, burritos, tortas, salads, cinnamon rolls, cookies, scones, brownies, breads, cocktails, beers, and much more. The service: The seating hostess and the waitress served us promptly and politely, but none of the flavors of taquitos that we ordered were in stock. The employee at the bakery worked so slowly that I ended up not even ordering everything that I wanted to. Furthermore, the display cases lacked price tags, and she rang up prices that were roughly twice what the website said. Here are my reviews for the foods that we ate: Pig Wings - 4.5 stars - This appetizer was tender St. Louis style ribs tossed in a flavorful BBQ sauce. Patatas Bravas Taco - 4.5 stars - I appreciated this taco for being vegetarian and for reminding me of patatas bravas from my vacation in Spain. A soft taco contained potatoes, salsa ranchero, cilantro lime aioli, queso fresco, and green onion. Shrimp Elote Taco - 4 stars - A soft taco contained cajun fried shrimp, grilled corn, cotija cheese, green onion, and chipotle aioli, and it tasted good. Carne Asada Burrito - 4.5 stars - This burrito was a very large size, so large that my husband ate only half of it in the restaurant and took the other half home to eat the next day. The burrito contained grilled filet mignon (yes, filet mignon!), red pepper mole, seasoned rice, black beans, chihuahua cheese, pico de gallo, pickled onion, and pepper. He said that it was "good" and had a "tasty" sauce. Cinnamon rolls - 4.5 stars - I chose rolls in four flavors: cream cheese, turtle cinnamon, raspberry cheesecake, and blueberry muffin. Each roll was a large size and tasted rich. Ham-cheese Bomb - 3 stars - This biscuit bomb contained bacon, egg, cheese, and potato. I thought that it tasted OK. The total price was $70 plus a tip. We arrived around 915, waited in line for 30 mins because there was only one person working coffee and food. I felt so bad- the line was so long and that's way too much for one person. The cinnamon rolls weren't out u til 940 and when they went out it was only Regular cinnamon rolls (when we were there). We were the first people to get one. We got 4 cronuts- raspberry, glazed, vanilla, and strawberry- ranked best to worst. They were all fresh and chewy! The cinnamon roll was eeh- bland and just tasted like milk. No real cinnamon or vanilla flavor. I think for a newer restaurant, they need more help. Two large groups of people left bc the line was too long. You need to have all of your baked goods out when you open at 9. 9 isn't thay early for a place selling baked goods. Definitely a few kinks but I hope they fix them. read more

Interesting spot in an interesting location and worth a stop if you're nearby. This is a cafe that has tasty looking donuts, coffee and other treats as well as a "Mexican fusion" cantina. I did not have the coffee or sweets but did enjoy the cantina. Had the Cuban sandwich and barbacoa taco. The Cuban was solid, but I wouldn't say that it's up to the level of those in Tampa(which I have had many). But it definitely scratched the itch. The taco was excellent with an in-house made thin tortilla, fall apart barbacoa and perfect accompaniments. I'd definitely order that again. I also enjoyed a couple of the in house made seltzers and a house margarita. All worth trying/sharing if you're not driving. The service was friendly and fast and this is worth a stop if you're in the area and looking for something different and new. read more

This spot is amazing! It has everything- bakery with sweet treats, savory breakfast items, coffee for now and coffee (bottled) for later. A lunch menu plus a full bar! Everyone is so sweet when you walk in and wiling to help with whatever questions you may have! The space is very inviting- with sit down and grab and go options plus outdoor seating. Cinnamon rolls are 12/10 and a must! Tried a chopped chicken Caesar wrap and it was sooo good! Most everything on their menu is made in house- even the tortilla wrap is made in house! Got the Blueberry Muffin Cinnamon Roll and it was HUGE! We took it home and heated it up in the microwave and it was so sweet, delicious, gooey and buttery. Cinnamon and blueberry compote with soft, doughy bread is a fantastic combo. We can't wait to try the biscoff flavor next. read more

First time visiting today, EXCELLENT!!!! We tried the Cubano and the Turkey bacon ranch wrap both with fries. Made two meals out of each. Really impressed with the quality of food and prep. That's hard to find. Really nice dining areas and super comfortable. Don't turn down the cinnamon role when you're done. Seriously the best I've had. It was a little pricey but well worth it given the portions and quality. I can tell we'll be frequent visitors. read more

Heard about a new cafe in RIDC park so I checked it out. They offered prepared foods but I stuck with the baked goods. First, the buckeye brownie was delicious. I also tried a yinzer Cookie which contains chocolate, oatmeal, potato chips and pretzels. It was actually good. I also tried a brisket bomb and other cookies. Gordos in Fox Chapel is open for brunch! We tried the breakfast burrito and breakfast sandwich as well as some mini cronuts and everything's so good!! We sat at the bar and enjoyed the sunshine coming through the garage door windows. The portions are perfect for a meal for one or to get a couple of items to share. Been a on-and-off customer at the sister location in Mt Washington and have been waiting for something to open up in the old Max and Erma's for a bit. Stopped in twice today to grab cronuts for the team and back in for lunch. The cronuts are delicious and more buttery than you might expect. My favorite was the brown butter glaze. Apple fritter was good but maybe not my favorite. Lunch was again solid. I had a thin crust cheese and pepperoni pizza. Came out quick due to the thin and crispy crust. Cheese and sauce was flavorful but the curled pepperoni stole the show. Would have liked some red pepper flakes but I didn't really go looking for them. My co worker got the Italian tortas and thought it was good warmed up and a pretty good value all things considered. Popped in for lunch three times now. I've gotten their small sausage pizza every time because it was so good. Staff seems nice and the pizza only takes 5-10min until served (if you have limited lunch time). I've also had a couple of sweet treats that were really good too. read more
