We also ordered a breakfast hand pie (why does life not use the term hand pie more often, you just feel so fun ordering one) and an Egg & Cheese Bagel. Both freshly put together and toasted to perfection. It is great when a cafe has actually delicious and intentional food. The staff was more than ready to give their suggestions and help. They kindly announce when your order is ready and wait with a smile to hand it off to you! There were plenty of cute places to sit and the decor was just so.. them. I went in the morning/early afternoon, the lighting from outside was not great, typical Pittsburgh fashion. The light fixtures inside were way too dim. I found myself tilting my notebook to try to catch some natural light. Outlets also aren't easily accessible which is huge for being able to do work of course. The coffee was great, I tried the hibiscus cold foam latte, or something like that. I paired it with a bacon egg biscuit sandwich which was very filling. Definitely satisfied with the food products. I often have driven by the LP Café and been impressed with its appearance. This weekend, we decided to pay it a visit to check it out, and we were not disappointed. The owner and staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The selection of vinyl is impressive, especially if you want limited edition or recent pressings of albums. They don't seem to be deep into vintage vinyl, but I think that is a wise choice in this trending neighborhood, where the younger people may be more interested in current releases. The older vinyl options that they had were in excellent condition, and they even had a bargain box selection that was very, very good! Overall, you can tell that the owner and staff have a passion for this. unfortunately, we were in a bit of a hurry, and did not stay for coffee, but I'll bet it's great. The aromas are fantastic. The store seem to be very busy while we were there, but the owner states that recently it has been a little slow - if you're reading my review, it would be great if you would help this wonderful local business out and pay them a visit. I like the espresso so much, the beans I use for my own espresso at home are always from here. I also enjoy the ambiance at this cafe. In the summer, I love to sit at the long bench by the entrance and watch the traffic outside while enjoying the sun. And in the winter, the interior feels very cozy and is a great place to hang out and chat with a friend. They also display art from (I believe) local artists, and you can buy pieces you like. I have not tried any of the baked goods or non-espresso drinks, so I can't comment on those first hand--though my partner did try the hot chocolate and was raving about it. But when it comes to espresso, come here for a good cup; as I said, it's the best espresso in Pittsburgh.

I've ordered the same items on different visits and had days where it was excellent and other days where it was just so-so. My hope (and assumption) is that as staff gets more fully trained and gains experience, the quality will become more consistent. The space itself is very cute, and don't be fooled by how small it looks when you walk in--there's an upstairs and a back patio, which is a nice surprise. Pricing is a bit high for what you get, but that's pretty standard for Lawrenceville/Penn Ave. Overall, I'm glad this place exists and I'll continue to support it.
