A must stop when you arr in the Strip District. Wait is not too bad and they keep the line moving and tables cleaned. Pancakes- thin, crispy edges and butterycin taste. Bacon- crispy with a hint of hickory Potatoes- best around, crispy, full of flavor with hints of onion and butter

Stopped in for a meal and had a great experience from start to finish. The food was delicious. We ordered the veggie omelette with potatoes and a side of guacamole, as well as the eggs with kielbasa sausage, potatoes, and a side of bacon. Everything was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. The service was quick, attentive, and very friendly, which made the experience even better. Overall, a solid spot for a tasty meal and great service

While visiting Pittsburgh with my dad and my husband, the three of us made our way to P&G's Pamela's diner for breakfast one morning. We managed to find a parking spot right out front. There was no wait for our table and the service was extremely fast and friendly. I decided to order the "morning after breakfast" while my dad ordered the corn beef hash, and my husband ordered the Pittsburgh hash. The portions are large and you definitely leave full. There really is nothing fancy about the food, but it's just good old-fashioned comfort diner food. They have several locations, but this one was quite spacious and like I said, we were in and out in a flash.

Amazing diner in a very cool neighborhood within PGH! The food was great and comes out very fast. The entire staff was excellent and friendly in a busy environment! If you're visiting PGH this place is worth a visit!! Pro Tip: when you walk up to the diner, there will be a lot of people standing outside waiting. Don't let this discourage you the line moves very fast!!

Pamela's is well-known and highly talked about in the Pittsburgh area. We figured we'd try it out. On Saturday, at 9:30 AM, the wait time for a party of 2 was 30 minutes. There was a huge line of people outside on the sidewalk. I put my name in with the hostess and the wait was exactly 30 minutes. I can't imagine how long it would've been for a larger party. It was crammed inside. Very loud and busy. Our server came by our table with waters and ask what else we wanted to drink, but we didn't see much of her while we dined. I ordered Gail's Favorite Eggs. It sounded good, and it was, but the blobs of cream cheese on top weren't soft. I imagined the cream cheese would be mixed in with the eggs or smeared on top but it was literally just two spoonfuls on top of the eggs with chives. The scrambled eggs were fluffy and the potatoes were excellent. In a nutshell, Pamela's serves typical diner food in a 50's themed interior. My suggestion for those reading this would be to go to Pamela's on a weekday when it's not as crowded.

Chocolate banana hotcake. Pittsburgh hash, hotcake w/ham.

A Pittsburgh staple. This is the place to go to when you want a breakfast visiting Pittsburgh. You will likely have a pretty decent wait, especially on weekends but it's worth doing. They're known for their hotcakes, but their hashes are all made in-house and definitely worth having as a side, if not your whole meal. The hotcake are half crepe and half pancake, but you can't really go wrong no matter which option you pick. Sweet options like the chocolate banana will satisfy and craving, while savory ones with meat will also satisfy. I recommend trying at least once whenever you stop into town.

Pamela's Diner is an absolute gem and hands down one of the best spots in Pittsburgh for breakfast or lunch. Yes, there will be a wait--but trust me, it's more than worth it. From the moment you walk in, there's this nostalgic, no-frills charm that just feels like comfort food is on the way. And it always is. I haven't tried a single thing I didn't love. Whether you're craving the thin, crispy-edged pancakes, or a buffalo sandwich, Pamela's delivers every single time. The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the staff somehow manage to keep things moving with a smile, even when the place is packed (which it usually is). If you're in Pittsburgh and you don't stop at Pamela's, you're missing out on a local institution that consistently lives up to the hype. Just jump in line, you won't regret it!

Definitely worth the wait! We've determined it's the best location for consistent quality. The service is always good and the food is always great. The pancakes are the best around and you can't beat the taste of the potatoes

Wow! I am thrilled to find a breakfast for two under $25 with coffee?! I'm a happy guy. And it was good!! We arrived around 11:50 am Saturday morning. A huge group of people waiting outside... I told my partner to find parking while I put our name on the list. He quoted us thirty minutes. Perfect. We found a parking spot a few blocks away by a gay bar we checked out the night before. Easy parking down that way. We walked the terminal and when we arrived back, they had already called my name within 20 minutes. So we checked in and they sat us right away. My one complaint...no Splenda for the coffee. Other than that everything was delicious. Quick! And so affordable. Great breakfast in Pittsburgh. I look forward to returning one day. Ashley was great! Great attitudes all around.

Stunned at how great this was. Corned beef hash and strawberry hotcakes were both excellent. Lots more to try as well.

Pamela's Diner is an absolute must if you're in Pittsburgh. We were in town for the Texans game (and a big win !), and stopping here made the trip even better. The hotcakes were hands-down the BEST--perfectly thin, fluffy, and packed with flavor. Our waitress was super sweet as well! The atmosphere was classic diner charm, the service was friendly and efficient, and the food came out hot and fresh. If we ever make it back to Pittsburgh, Pamela's will 100% be our first stop. Highly recommend! Love Houston natives

Wife and I enjoyed our breakfast at Pamela's Diner in Pittsburgh, over at the Strip District. Friendly service, fun interior and great food overall. It's a must visit while you're in town so go check them out!

We went on a Friday morning and we were seated right away. The coffee was tasty. The pancakes are good, but a little more savory than I typically like. The fruit cup I recieved was very liquidy and the fruit was a little too soft. The restaurant is cute and the staff was friendly. I never had to wait long for a refill on my coffee!

Whats an average wait time on a Saturday or Sunday morning?

Went here on a Sunday at 9 am and it's a 45 min wait. But it's fine coz we went around to local shops for Steelers gear. Also got a nice cappuccino nearby from a nice local coffee store

Curious if they have any vegan options? If their waffle/pancake batter could be vegan friendly.

I see they offer takeout and delivery, but I do not see any information on Yelp or the website. Can anyone give me more information?

Where is the best place to park when going to pamela's in the strip district?

Typically we park on Smallman by the old loading docks. Parking is $5 during the week and I think $7 on the weekends. If you can't park there, there is additional parking on the backside of those loading docks.

If you do, this place is for you…read more This place was started by Joe Primanti in 1933 to feed shift workers from the local warehouses (coal and iron) and railroads. They are known for big sandwiches which now includes fries and cole slaw. The sandwiches provided value to workers...who were looking for a place to feed themselves to keep their energy up for a long shift. When you sit at the bar and you can only imagine the workers that sat here to feed themselves with what little they had. They found a sandwich between two pieces of soft Italian bread with a good balance of meat, cheese, cole slaw and fries...think energy and value. The history here is real and intense. Would I rate this as a culinary destination? Not particularly but I would say it's a must see to be part of US history as the town righted itself and came to life. The sandwich? I had the pastrami with cole slaw, egg, fries and tomato on Italian bread. Remarkably, the sandwich was light...despite it sounding heavy. The cabbage and tomatoes bring a great balance to the sandwich which makes it messy and remarkably light. Be prepared to get messy..so eat fast! I am probably talking too much about the sandwich...just go try it. The food is probably a 3.5 but it gets the extra .5 for the amazing history there. The service was great...well educated on the product, accommodating in every way. If you are in Pittsburgh, this is a must try.

I had to go across the street to use the restroom because theirs were nasty. It required going down a steep set of stairs, and the women's bathroom floor was wet. There was also a bucket catching brown water dripping from somewhere, which was pretty concerning. The wings and onion rings were just average and didn't really stand out. There are newer locations of this restaurant that I'd recommend instead. Based on my experience, you'll likely have a much better overall visit at one of those locations

You have to try one of the signature sandwiches (various meats topped with coleslaw and fries and amazing, thick bread). Something to note is that this isn't a creamy coleslaw. In fact, on its own it doesn't have much flavor (mostly just pepper) but it somehow pairs well with the sandwich. The downside to this location is that they aren't exactly the best at table turnover/cleaning tables and the restaurant itself doesn't feel spotless (like some other locations do). But in a way, it kind of adds to the vibe of the place. There are several parking garages and also on street parking nearby. Nice that it has late hours most evenings (since a lot of downtown restaurants seem to close fairly early). Definitely worth a visit.

We stopped by while walking around the Strip District looking for a quick lunch. During lunch service, you order at the kiosk, find a seat, and clean up after yourself, which makes for a casual and easy experience. Now, I am going to take you on a journey just like the books Belle read so strap in. We had a 5:45 PM reservation, and even arrived a few minutes early. The hostess/employee (I don't want to assume positions) took me upstairs for a table right by the window, which will be an awesome view when the construction finishes. It was also a beautiful sight of that part of the city as-is. When I was seated, I was one of a few tables seated. It was not full or even busy at that time. Also, as we were seated, we were given waters. My friend joined me about 5-7 minutes after the reservation time. We then ordered our drinks at about 6:00/6:05 PM. From there, we waited and did not meet our waiter, who will be referred to as sweet baby angel Max from here on out, until about 6:20 PM. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees at around this time. Our orders had some modifications but nothing major. By this time, many more tables were seated upstairs and others seemingly received their alcoholic drinks and even appetizers by the time we received only our drinks around 6:30-6:40. Our drinks were big, too, which is great, but that also meant we had to drink them a little more quickly due to the time constraints with the show. We were enjoying ourselves but noticed multiple more tables receiving not only their drinks and apps but also their entrees. Once 6:55 came, we had to tell sweet baby angel Max about our predicament. I will be honest and say we suggested for our drinks to be comped at least - not only for the wait and lack of courtesy with everyone else receiving their items before us despite our arrival and reservation time, but for the fact that we would have maybe 15 minutes to eat, finish our drinks, pay, take our food back to our cars, and make curtain time. What sweet baby angel Max did next flabbered our gasts -- he said not only will our drinks be comped but our whole meal will be comped. He also helped pack our food and kept it in the back so we didn't have to worry about going back to our cars. We made sure to tip him with all we had! We are so glad we did because when we returned after the show, he had the kitchen remake the food and kept it warm for us. When you go to The Eagle, ask for sweet baby angel Max and you will not be disappointed with him, the service, or the food. Because even when they may mess up? The Eagle gets it right with their classy attitude and positive treatment of their customers. You definitely have multiple return customers just from this encounter. Thank you!!!
