I contacted Gore Planning to help me make my existing plan better. I scheduled my appointment with Brad, and he showed up on time and was very professional during the entire consultation. For our backyard project, my husband and I had a very tight budget to completely renovate our existing patio cover, paint our house, rebuild a shabby fence, extend our patio slab, incorporate some new contemporary concrete slabs with shade structure, and plant some fruit trees for us and grass for our dogs.... Oh yeah, and a deck box under our tree. Our total budget is $4000 - $7000. As we had put a few months into our planning already, we thought it best to meet with a landscape architect to review what we had initially come up with, and help us with planning, or scheduling professionals to assist with certain aspects of the job. After meeting with Brad and listening to his advice, there is one part of our renovation that Brad was able to save us almost $1000 by recommending an alternative idea that met the same needs. He also provided his thoughts and feedback on color schemes, other design ideas, and some alternative suggestions for some masonry work that we didn't think we could work into our budget but with his suggestions I think we can make it happen now. Brad understood the style we are trying to achieve and completely saw our vision without having to communicate too much. He gave us some great ideas on how to accomplish what we were looking for but also gave us less costly alternatives. Overall, he fortified our existing plan and we feel very confident to proceed with our project! While we only used Brad for an initial consultation on our existing project, we still have many months until this project will be complete and I have no doubt that I will contact him in the future if we decide to make changes or get stuck on something. We highly recommend him. Brad is incredibly nice and responsive. He has a great deal of knowledge and is able to really help you to decide on the look for your yard. Don't be surprised if he takes your ideas and turns them into something you wouldn't have imagined that is better than your original idea. It felt difficult initially to pay for 'an idea'. Roger did the the concrete and landscaping . After the concrete was poured, colored and stamped during a cooler day it didn't come out to the satisfaction of Roger. After weeding through several companies and trying to make sense of the difference between a landscape "designer" and an actual landscaper, which sometimes they're one in the same, I used Home Advisor and found Brad and Jerry. Brad was amazing! The detail and thought that went into the plans for my yard was refreshing. I know nothing about planning a landscape, and I have a large back yard. The previous companies/people I've dealt with seemed to be more interested in doing "whatever I wanted" and getting paid, rather than offering up suggestions and "best-fits" based on their experience and expertise. I wanted color, drought resistant, and a landscape that would attract nature such as butterflies, bees, and birds. Brad didn't disappoint and he wasn't afraid to disagree or offer up suggestions based on what he knew would "really work" vice simply just giving me what I thought I liked. The results were perfect! I was looking to completely redo my small front yard and was in search for a true landscape designer not just a contractor who did landscape work. After looking around locally I made an appointment with Brad to go over my needs. There were specific conditions that I required including complete removal of existing landscape, no lawn, drought tolerance and water conserving, modern clean look with emphasis on plant form and structure and not on flowers. On top of this the design has to meet HOA standards. Brad was able to deliver on time a very detailed and unique plan that met all me needs. The plan is fully inclusive of drainage, irrigation, lighting, type of rock mulch as well as the plant materials. Brad is very knowledgeable about local conditions and what types of plants grow here. I have submitted the proposed plan to the HOA Board for approval and hope its approved as submitted or with very little change. If all goes well I will have it installed during the fall. I contacted Mr. Gore because of the good review I found online. I was definitely not disappointed. He was prompt at responding and had great ideas for my Yard. The crew that was contracted with him worked hard, efficient and kept things neat and tidy around my property during the process. My new front and back yard are beautiful and I am constantly getting compliments! It is low maintenance and mostly drought resistant. Even though the project is done, Brad has assured me that if I ever need anything he would be available to come by and help. The project took about 3 weeks to complete.
