So I haven't been bowling in many years. My wife and I did enjoy ourselves and it was definitely worth the trip. My complaints will be in the service. I waited way way too long in line for it to not move at all for food. The girl behind the counter seemed to appear and disappear over and over without serving the people in line. The drinks were good and good price... but it really shouldn't have taken as long as it did (I'm talking one person ahead of me the entire time and I waited almost 25 minutes). The lanes were good, and the food was delivered to my lane. I think a 3 here is fair. Average. I will likely return and reassess. read more

Fun for all ages at Thomaston Lanes! We went during school winter break week and they were packed but the staff was great, especially Mr. Lou! There are 24 lanes with seating for at 6+ per lane, the machines are updated and we no issues. You can order food/drinks while you play. They are accommodating and will put down the bumpers if you request for little ones in your group. One of the largest/cleanest arcades in this area for little kids. They also have a large birthday party area which is attached to the arcade area. Conveniently located off Route 8. read more

I had a lot of fun bowling here with the family. The staff is nice, it wasn't too crazy busy, and the bar actually has really awesome food for a bowling alley. My bowling alley of choice. Tacky garish giant bowling balls painted on the side of the building and a fairly modern interior elevate it above Skytop in Torrington, which despite recently getting out of the dark ages & getting computer scoring STILL looks like the 70s vomited all over it. The arcade here is pretty sucky - theres a bowling alley I went to outside of Philly this summer that has forever ruined other bowling alley arcades for me because it was just that awesome - but even in spite of that, the games aren't that great. Their forte here is the glow bowling Saturday. Bowling dance party yes plz. Besides, the neon scheme in the place is a little much in full light haha The attached bar has decent food - they have a window so if you're bowling you can order drinks and food. Games are $4+ a piece on weekends and after 5pm, which is steep, but this place is worth it. read more

Went on a Friday night, there were no lines but the lanes were occupied. One of the staff, older guy with long hair above the shoulder was rude. He seemed overwhelmed and felt as he seemed to prioritize the "league" that was still coming. "I won't give you the lane if everyone is not here..." While the lane he was going to assign to us had one person bowling in it. He was so concerned about the "league that was coming". The place was nice and it seemed updated. The score boards are interactive. There's big enough arcade area. There was enough parking the place is easy to spot. I would not recommend the food, save you money and probably just drive across the street to Rossi's. Their pricing is not very clear 5.50/game but they don't mention it's per person also. The vibe I got was this place takes care of their "league" and maybe their regulars. But as a first time visit and occasional bowler I hope others will have a better experience. I don't recommend this place based on customer service. read more

It was okay not too bad I liked Bristol better in all honesty but we tried the bowling here, $17.50 for a fuzzy navel and a Long Island iced tea. Kids 4 rows away from us were screaming like banshee's... I get kids being kids and I am all for kids having fun but that just wasn't necessary how they were screaming and running back and forth to the bathroom every five minutes. Then when I went to the bathroom they just had the faucet running almost to the brim with soap dumped into it, I went to the person up front and told him the situation that if I didn't go to the bathroom there was going to be a flood in the bathroom. I don't think I will be back here Bristol is bigger and the kids there are better behaved. read more

Best, cleanest and friendliest bowling alley I can EVER remember going to. Their new look is current and attractive and very inviting to all. The lanes are tended to daily and always clean and oiled. The overhead screens are user friendly and very simple to use. The balls have multiple weights with different holes for any size hands whereas any others I've been to it's always one size fits all. The arcade is also very impressive! I am new to Connecticut and have been to other lanes in the area but nothing compares to these lanes and the folks that run it. Two thumbs up from me. Me my nephew , my friend and his son came to this establishment on 10/2. We went to the arcade area. Spent a bunch of money to play the games which was fine. When it came to the 6 and 9 year old to cash in their tickets for their prizes there was no one at the ticket/prize place. So we went to the front counter to ask the gentlemen working if anyone was working the arcade section. He immediately gave us attitude. Finally he came to help us, unfortunately he was extremely rude from the jump because he had to tend to the league players in the bowling section. At one point he told me and my 6 year old if they didn't know what they wanted immediately then he was closing down the ticket/ proze section so we didn't bother him. I was flabbergasted. I am a very aggressive upfront person when someone is rude, but. I kept my mouth shut because I had my nephew and a friends kid with me, and didn't want to make a scene. I'm sorry but if a grumpy old man can't handle his job, he shouldn't be there. He made us feel like a burden, and I will honestly never come back because of that man. We spent ALOT of money at the arcade , and chose NOT to bowl because of how this man treated us. October 2nd of 2023. A Monday night. So we went on a Friday night and we will NEVER go back! It was there league night. Only had two lanes open for people to use.. the people next to us were rude and got mad when we would bowl.. I don't know all the rules and was just there to have fun with the kids. After dealing with the jerks next to us the guy that worked at the bowling alley can over and said they had made complaints about us again! I said are you kidding me!? I went here on 1/10 which was a Sunday we bowled for about an hour and everything was good until we went to pay. On Sundays the website clearly states you pay 5 dollars and you game all day and shoe rentals 3.75. When we went to check out the guy tells me the total is around 60$ when I told him what the website said he didn't really care. He said it was 5 dollars per game/ 5 dollars per person on top of the 5 for a game so really it's 10 dollars a game and 25$ shoe rental for two people. What was advertised online for $5 game all day Sundays was obviously a lie along with other prices. This was my first and last time I'll go here. read more

Thomaston Lanes is one of my family's favorite places to go to for an afternoon out. The staff is welcoming and accommodating and there are enough activities at the facility to make everyone happy. My husband can play keno and grab a beer and a burger, while the kids enjoy their pizza and chicken fingers after they've played games in the arcade. Definitely a fun and safe atmosphere where we can spend a few hours together and not break the bank. read more

Had my daughter's birthday party here. Didn't get a good feeling from the start - should have trusted my gut! We were a small party of 8 teenage girls. The staff was ridiculously UNaccomodating and downright rude. Honestly, it was shocking. Their favorite saying is, "Absolutely not." That should give you an indication of how they feel about customer service. Ordered a pizza for the party from the attached restaurant which was greasy and very doughy. :( A real shame.....what could have been a fun filled afternoon with family and friends turned out to be like an episode of The Twilight Zone. Standard bowling alley. They have a very small arcade, a small pool table and an air hockey table. My friend and I got there for around 7pm and the leagues had all the lanes taken up until 9pm. When 9pm rolled around we got our shoes (warning: you need to leave one of your shoes with the staff in order to get your bowling shoes) and started bowling. They had "galaxy bowling" very shortly after we started which I liked. We played about two games and had a good time. Prices are reasonable and the place is clean. Upon arrival, lanes did not work (had to wait 15 minutes for system to boot update install and reboot). Finally was moved to a different lane, set up was easy and animations and pictures of self were a whimsical surprise. On 2nd game setter jammed before one of our group noticed and a ball hit it. Even though we apologized immediately a staff member yelled at us and accused us of being impatient and trying to hit the setter. On our 3rd game we decided to mix it up a little and use the lightest possible ball (6 lbs) the same staff worker snidely commented that the balls were not drilled for our finger size because we arent supposed to throw the balls (we had not done so btw). When they returned our shoes, my brother said "thank you." And the guy at the counter said, "Yea whatever." We are not teenagers... but age 30+ adults deserving of respect. Got the feeling staff did not want to be there nor did they care if we were there. Would not recommend. Will not return. read more

We've brought our kids here a bunch of times and it's always been amazing. Nice staff, very clean, never mobbed, good bowling mechanics, and a decent snack bar. They just recently renovated the booths and scoring consoles (which the kids love). This is the perfect small town, throw-back bowling alley - for families or adults - highly recommended for rainy snowy days. read more

I've been coming here for a while and it is still one of the best bowling alleys around. It is clean and finding a bowling ball was pretty easy. There is also a jukebox with thousands of songs to chose from. I'd definitely give this place a try. read more
