Got Light provided the lighting for our November wedding in the city and the team did a great job understanding our vision to put together the lighting design. The team works on some big events, so we spent some time with their team to scope the design to our wedding scale. The Got Light team had worked with our venue before so they had a great insight into the lighting needs. We ended up spending much more on lighting that initially planned, mainly due to labor needs for the Chinese lanterns we had, but the expense was worthwhile to create a beautiful ambience throughout the evening. The only hitch we had in the evening was that our dance floor wash wasn't visible during the reception and the Got Light team addressed the issue after the fact, which we appreciated. Overall, we enjoyed working with the Got Light team, particularly Kristina who helped get all the details together and kept us on track, and would recommend working with them. read more

As I soon found out, if you have great vendors for your wedding, all will go well. I can't say enough about Got Light. Got Light did the lighting for our March 2013 wedding at City Hall (we rented the venue for both the ceremony and reception). They are very experienced at City Hall and are one of the few lighting vendors on the pre-approved list. Got Light worked with us (actually our planner, Lauren Geissler, from Downey Street Events) on creating the perfect lighting package. We wanted fairly simple lighting with a candlelit, warm, and romantic ambiance. They also provided some draping for certain of the corridors to help make the room feel more intimate. Got Light nailed it and were very reasonable in their pricing. The lighting changed throughout the evening and provided the perfect ambiance to complement our floral arrangements (some of which included candles) and the overall atmosphere (even as the natural light in the setting changed). Some guests and even our photographer noted what an amazing job they did. We would highly recommend Got Light if you are looking for a lighting vendor, especially if you're getting married at City Hall or another venue with a complicated lighting scheme. read more

I was referred to Got Light because the family friend whose estate we were getting married at had used them for several previous events. Kristina was very helpful in offering a variety of lighting plans for a backyard wedding on a spring evening. We worked out including uplighting for the trees in the front and back of the estate as well as bistro lights and a light dance floor wash in the back for the reception. Kristina was very responsive and accommodated a walk through as well as a handful of discussions for different lighting options. We worked with GotLight for our Legion of Honor reception in San Francisco last year. I really enjoyed working with Kristina, who was highly professional and prompt in our communications. As I coordinated the event myself without the assistance of a wedding planner, it was incredibly helpful to work with GotLight, who understood the venue and had a thorough understanding of all the details we needed to take into consideration for lighting, power, and AV. I also felt the pricing was reasonable compared to other quotes I received. Finally, they are set-up ninjas and will get your lighting up and running in record time, which is helpful at venues like LOH that don't let vendors in until after the museum closes (1-2 hours before your event starts). Our pre-event conversations/emails were a breeze and Hayley gave us much needed feedback regarding the design we wanted. We booked the basic wedding package to decorate the Fort Mason Firehouse for our eclectic wedding which included warm purple uplighting and a red/gold dance floor pattern. On the day of the event, the Got Light? staff arrived on time and did an awesome job setting up the lights that created the fun mood for the event. The pictures of the event look amazing too!!! I want to preface this review by saying that I don't like using yelp, or writing bad reviews for companies, but when I get royally screwed, I like to look out for the common man. I got married recently in San Francisco, and to save money my fiancee Beth and I wanted to plan the wedding ourselves. We contacted Got Light a month in advance to rent some drape for the reception hall, which we wanted to do in orange. Got Light said that was no problem, and we were good to go. Now fast forward to three days before the wedding. Where I get a call from a girl named Haylee, who tells me that Got Light doesn't have the drape in stock any more, apparently it was already promised to another job. I asked her why had I not been informed of this earlier, and pretty much got no answer. I figure that someone with more money would of course get the preferred treatment. Finally after arguing for almost an hour, I convinced them (with the threat of a negative yelp, im somewhat disheartened to say) to rent me the drape, although they insisted that a) I use a cash deposit, and b) i promise not to give them a 1 star yelp review. I mean come on, is this the world we live in, where a yelp review is currency? That just sounds so pathetic to me as a consumer. But oh well, I was going to get the drape for my wedding, so everything was good right? WRONG. After I returned the drape, Got Light contacted me again, informing me that I had "damaged" the drape and would be charged a 400 dollar cleaning fee, conveniently the amount of the cash deposit I had left. I countered that they needed to show me pictures of the damage, but already having left the cash with them, I knew I had no shot coming out on top, and sure enough, here it is weeks later, and I have heard nothing from them. So I guess these guys don't like dealing with the worthless, cheap little guys anymore, but since i'm a man of my word, here you are Got Light, a non- 1 star review. read more

This is an update to a previous review. I am so grateful to be working with Jon and his company for my wedding in October. We were initially told that because of a 6 month policy that we would not be able to work with Got Light, which completely shattered my vision (brides-to-be know exactly how unnerving this feeling can be - cue meltdown). After writing a review about this policy, Jon, the owner, personally reached out to my fiancé to apologize for the inconsistent implementation of the policy, which they no longer adhere to, AND agreed to personally do our wedding. I won't get into the incredible deal that he graciously offered us because I would never want yelp to be used to take advantage of Got Light, but I will say my wedding will exceed my dream vision because of him. Do you want a company that 1) is honest, has integrity and is willing to change policies that aren't working for their clients; 2) is willing to meet their clients more than half way; 3) employs incredible artists who can bring your vision to life and 4) has a really good looking owner? If you've said yes to even one of these, PLEASE book Got Light for your next event. read more

i won't be using got light for my wedding. we chose a place that didn't need lighting. but if i had gone with the regency center, i would've definitely gone with them. i thought their rates were reasonable (around $1400) and they were really good about emailing and very communicative. overall, my little experience with them was very excellent. : ) read more

My wife and I hired Got Light to provide the lighting services for our wedding which we held as the San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers. They are the only approved lighting vendor for this venue which made things easy since we didn't have to choose from multiple vendors. We were surprised to find out that the basic package for Got Light does not provide that much lighting so we added in the specialty item of the bistro lighting as well as some of their "pacific globes" which looked beautiful in the Orchid Pavilion. Kristina was our contact for the lighting and she was very kind, professional, and able to provide us with sound/useful advice as we decided on our final lighting arrangement. It's challenging to comment on how fair the pricing was as we did not have the option to look at other vendors, but their services are certainly not cheap. However, you are paying a premium for high quality, professional services and we were very satisfied with the job they did for our wedding. read more
