Love this shop, been coming here since I was a kid! Friendly guys and that great old school fishing feeling. All kinds of live baits and tackle. Cash only but has an atm inside. My favorite feature as always is all the photos around the shop. The only newest addition is the political sign that says TRUMP On the door in bold letters that made me a little nervous when I returned after so many years but rest assured they were great and no political talk just fishing stuff. My wife and I stopped in the shop looking for some advice as well as some shad. Boy owe boy were we surprised this mom and pop shop delivered with a down to earth customer service experience. The selection of bait was the best I've ever seen and prices were very reasonable. The shelves aren't packed with gimmicks. They have everything you need and nothing you don't need. AS HAPPY AS A CAT IN A FISHING STORE A couple of cool cats work here. Not to be confused with the two cats that live here. Meow! I had a fish once. It lasted a few weeks in my cat house. I should have known better. I bet these cats are well-fed! We stopped in and were surprised at how empty the store was. Thought there'd be a lot more product to browse. The employees were helpful though and we talked a little bit about crabbing. The only purchase I made was for two packs of sunflower seeds. This is going to sound odd but they were the best sunflower seeds we'd ever had. Nothing fancy, just Frito-Lays brand with Ranch and Flamas flavors. But they were the absolute best. I've been going to this store for years buying only little miscellaneous items. But just recently I made a major purchase there and it was smooth with no hiccups. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and make you feel completely comfortable to ask any questions. Also their prices usually beat large stores like Bass pro shop. They have a small inventory for guns and bows but they can bring in almost anything. Make sure to check this place out before traveling an hour or so. read more

This is going to be a joint yelp because I started to write this review in front of my honey, who then decided he wanted in on the yelp game...."hey get yer own yelp fella!" "It's cool baby, I will share my yelp with you. This time...." So, we buy these fishing licenses the other day (circa 3/2008 KMart yelp) and find ourselves in need of bait and bait "like" products. From my past experiences, being the daughter of a commercial fisherman and the sister of a boat captain and all (cuz I am fancy like that) I know that I just want plain old run of the mill every day night crawlers. Growing up on boats kinds of put a bad smell in my nose if you will for anchovies and I refuse to use them (or eat what I catch) but that is my hang up. We get two tubs of large night crawlers, cuz that's how we roll, and head to the pier. After bragging to my kids and husband *again* how fabulous I am at baiting the hooks (call me the MASTERBAITER please) aaaand fishing ... I choke. Not only does J catch 7 fish, D catches 3 and my honey catches 4 - I dint get any love until its almost time to leave! I will add that the ONE fish I was able to snag was the biggest tho' (ha ha ha) no pictures to prove it. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera :-) Gotcha! Bait and Tackle has nothing to offer except for plentiful amounts of various bait and a partially stocked metal rack of chips - no beverages or jerky. I'd have done better with beer and strips of beef. Oh, and the guy that works their was helpful and polite and didn't embarrass me when I asked for worms that don't bite. Found our new bait shop! The guys here were so helpful and friendly. There are also 2 cats living here, the younger cat Toodles, is really sweet! He loved getting his belly rubbed by me and my 4 year old lol Picked up a 1/4 lb of grass shrimp and a container of night crawlers, going to take our daughters fishing. Only cost us around $10.00 Cool business. They give lots of great tips and advice you can always call for tide info too.
