I ordered Meta glasses for same-day pickup. I was in a rush when I picked them up, so I didn't inspect the box until I got home -- that part was my fault. At first I assumed maybe the glasses just come in a different type of box, but once I opened it, I realized something was off. There was no charging case, and instead the glasses were stuffed into a cheap cloth case. Big red flag! I examined the glasses closely and saw the words "Not for sale." I was so mad! I had paid $400 for the Meta Wayfarer transitional glasses, only to end up with a display pair. I've been a loyal Dick's customer for years, I can't believe I got scammed! I drove all the way back to the store and calmly explained what happened. The male employee helping me was shocked but very helpful. The manager said it looked like an employee may have swapped the glasses and that she would be checking the cameras. She offered to order it for me, but I wanted it the same day so I opted for a refund. Now I'm down $400 until it gets refunded on my card. I ended up purchasing an authentic pair at Macy's instead. So yea, it's a never again. I hope they catch whoever swapped the glasses out. 1 star for the helpful managers and employee who helped me out!

I cannot believe the experience I had with this business! I just got back from picking up my bike…read morethat I only purchased two months ago. The derailer hangar snapped and needed to be replaced. This is why I left extremely upset! I bought the bike to go on rides with my son. I bought a separate seat that is attached to the middle bar so my toddler can ride with me. Last week during my ride we came across a cross walk where I began to cross and needed to shift gears up as I had just came from climbing a hill. While in the cross walk I began to shift gears down and the chain came apart causing my back wheel to be stuck. I had to carry the whole bike with my son it to the other of the cross walk. The following day - contacted customer service for help. I was placed on hold, then HUNG UP on. I immediately called right back and got the same woman who then told me she could NOT help me because I exceeded the 30 day return. She mentioned that she would have exchanged it but the bike was sold out. She then informed me the only option for me was to contact warranty and she referred me to my manual for the number. Next day - google GT warranty. Department was closed after 5. (Called when I was off work) Day after - called warranty and was transferred to a different warranty because they handled my brand bike and found out the department was CLOSED due to COVID. I then contact DICKS customer service and some guy answered who seemed like he just woke up out of his sleep and was high. I couldn't even believe it. He was so out of it... slurring his words... couldn't remember the things he was saying... and his sentences didn't even make sense! He told me that the bike had a 90 day return policy and to bring it to the store for return. Because of my strange interaction with him I contacted my local Dick's sporting goods and spoke to the manager Becky. I told Becky my experience and asked her if it was true that I could return my bike. She told me that it was not and told me she understood the frustration with warranty as she has experienced the department being closed as well. She made me feel understood and knew exactly what I was talking about. She told me to bring the bike in the store and that we could fix it. She gave me a heads up that it would be a first come first serve and I was fine with that as I was in no rush and just wanted the bike fixed. I offered to buy the part on Amazon as it cost about $20 and could possibly get it quicker than if they had ordered it. She told me not to come out of pocket that the store would just go through warranty. I was so happy to have spoke to her because I thought finally some good service. Next week - I bring my bike in. I walk to the back where I knew the bikes were located and came across Bob who mentioned he was about to be off and to go the front where I will need to fill out papers. So I go back to the front and waited to fill out papers. The girl assisting me was helping so many other people I was just standing there. Not to mention I had my 3 yo old who wasn't as patient. I filled the paper work Bob comes to the front and tells ME what happened to my bike. Basically telling me that I dropped my bike (which I never did) that he can tell because of the scuff marks (my bike came with no kickstand and when riding my bike I def brush the pedal against the wall when I come to a stop at a bench) he mentioned the oil on my spokes came from the chains coming off because the hangar bent when I dropped it. Which wasn't true. Before bringing it my son had been spinning where the gears shift and was touching the spokes with hands. The fact that they were causing me what I DID with my bike made me feel a type of way. I didn't argue with him because that's what he thinks after fixing bikes for a long time that no matter what I said wasn't going to change his mind. 2 days later - Bob calls me to tell me my bike is fixed and ready to go! He was very pleasant to speak with and although I felt a way from him telling me what I did to my bike I was just happy that he fixed it so fast! He was kind and told me he was able to fix it faster than usually was because he had an extra part from a previous bike he had to fix. He told me I would not be charged for any labor and to just pay for the hangar. I expressed my appreciation because I anticipated it being there longer and told him I'd come after work to pick it up. While I didn't mention it to him that Becky told me warranty would take care of it I waited until I got to the store with hopes of Becky being there. Arrival - I go to the back and push the button since no one was in the section. Steven comes over and was RUDE from the get go. I let him know that I pushed the button and he was like "OKAY." I was expecting him to say something else and he just stared at me so I said "I'm here to pick up my bike" and he was like "Okay... name?" And so I said "Jacklynn" so he rudely opens the binder and keeps flip

I know nothing about softball, and trying to figure out cleats, bats, gloves, and sizes felt overwhelming fast. Last week I rushed in at the last minute trying to find cleats and thought I was going to lose my mind. Marlena helped us and she was wonderful. She stepped right in, helped us find the right cleats quickly, and immediately took the pressure off the situation. We came back this week because we still needed a bat and a few other things. Cat helped us this time and she was incredible. She took the time to measure my daughter and explain what size bat would actually work for her. That meant a lot because I truly had no idea what I was doing. What stood out most was how encouraging she was with my daughter. She didn't just help us buy equipment, she made my daughter feel excited and confident about playing. As a mom, that kind of encouragement means everything. The store was clean, organized, great value and the softball section had a lot of options which made it fun for my daughter to explore while we figured things out. Huge thank you to Marlena and Cat for helping a very stressed mom navigate the world of softball gear.

I purchase a cooler from this location and 8 days later the lid started warping causing the seal to not work and thus, melting the ice within two hours. Manager told me they could not exchange or return and to speak to Yeti. Spoke to Yeti and they told me to speak to a manager at the store I purchased it from. You're spending a good amount of money on a cooler only for it to not work and no one be able to help you. What a joke after spending thousands of dollars a year or clothing, shoes, and sports equipment. Manager didn't even bother to look up the purchase of the cooler or history of what I have bought. Thank you for the amazing customer service.

The store was huge, full of merch and pretty much devoid of people. I headed towards the shoe department and spotted the pair I had seen online, although here they were not on sale. I figured I would ask an employee but there was only one working in the vicinity. There was a kiosk that I attempted to use but it did not even show the shoes in stock. I did not have all day to wait but I hung around for a bit longer by the entrance to the shoe stock room and an another employee finally appeared, said 'excuse me' and walked right by me without asking if I needed help. This is probably obvious to others, but if you want to get good service it's best to go to a smaller business! Or even just another large sporting goods store, of which we have several in the Bay. Dicks though, they live up to their name.

Posting this as a cautionary tale for anyone buying shoes at Dick's Sporting Goods - Sunnyvale…read more This would have been a one star rating if not for Xavier in Footwear. Excellent service and attitude. I bought a pair of On Cloud shoes and within 5 days realized they were too big. The issue only showed up in real-world use: when walking downhill my foot slid forward into the toe box. That's not something you reliably catch by taking a few steps indoors. I went back to do a simple exchange (not a refund). The shoes were clean and in excellent condition. The only visible difference was very slight yellowing on the outsole contact pads -- noticeable under their bright store lighting but not dirty, or damaged. At first I was told the exchange would be fine. After further inspection, they reversed course and said the shoes were not "resaleable" due to wear. I spoke with multiple people (each initially identifying themselves as "the manager" before clarifying their role), and after a lot of back and forth the best options offered were: * 15% off a replacement pair, or * $60 store credit as a "no receipt return" value (they said this reflects the lowest recent selling price and excludes clearance). I ultimately took the $60 credit because my time is worth something and I needed the correct size. But the key takeaway is this: If you buy shoes here, assume you cannot test them outdoors -- even briefly -- without risking being denied an exchange. The 90-day return policy sounds generous, but in practice footwear appears to need to look completely unworn to qualify. I'm sharing this so others don't make the same assumption I did.
