Gotta B Crepes thank you very much for making us crepes this morning at the Mount Prospect Farmers Market. You and your team are the best! We look forward to seeing you weekly now Ryan in MP. You guys never disappoint! BTW thanks for the extra fruit crepe's in addition to our order of the Swing Belly Skillet! Everything was yummy!

I had such a wonderful time last night, I decided to come back for a quick lunch with my coworker today. I ordered the same River Valley Florentine with chicken because it was that delicious. The freshness of each ingredient spoke volume and it was prepared perfectly as it did yesterday. The strawberry lemonade was refreshing and paired wonderfully with my crepe. Ryan and Kathia were again so gracious and friendly. I would definitely come back to try others.

This crepe place will have you coming back for more! Ryan, the owner, makes crepes, asks customers how they liked their food while wiping down tables. One of the customers feedback was she and her son were waiting for them to open up again post-lockdown and were so happy to be back. My friend was telling me about this place, and it lived up to the hype! Ryan, the owner, knew my friend by her name. The decor was equally warm, and welcoming as the service. I loved the Bee theme decor and the optimistic quotes all over giving it a positive vibes only feel! Thry have a chalkboard banner in the wall that wraps around which is at children's height for a fun, kid-friendly touch. They have outdoor seating with 4 sturdy wood picnic tables and each having 4 stools. They have ample seating inside and are well prepared and organized line to handle high demand ( like the dmv and airports)! This was my impression before I even had a taste of the food! When my friend and I made it to the line, we have 3 menu boards of delicious savory and sweet crepes to choose from, with entire boards dedicated to each. I became guilty of waffling...So many yummy choices! I settled on a seasonal one of Ratatouille in buckwheat batter for my savory pick. My friend and I shared a Cinnamon Roll sushi style one made in buckwheat batter (It makes a difference is what I told myself to ease the guilt)! Ryan, the owner, is a magician who works magic with juggling multiple orders simultaneously that you fell like it's brunch and a show! Once we got to the counter, there were drink options and the Oat-chata, spin on the Horchata, was worthwhile because it even had ice coffee cubes in it and was refreshing on a hot day! We had eagerly awaited our crepes, which were fresh and instantly ready to be devoured. And just when we thought it couldn't get any better, Ryan brings us half of the seasonal sweet crepe of peach cobbler to try and it was like summer in a bite! You could actually taste the fresh pie crust bits he had mentioned as we had been drooling while the crepes were being made live in action!

I added an extra star because some businesses just fricken deserve more stars and this business definitely deserves it. Simply put this place is absolutely amazing! I'm just pissed at myself for not trying it sooner. We were happily greeted by Ryan who went over the menu and suggested something for us the parents and three kids. Everyone loved their food and found it suited each of our differing tastes. Everything tasted fresh and made with care and attention to detail. Ryan was so helpful and even brought us a sample to try. The kids are already begging to go back tomorrow. Maybe not tomorrow but we will definitely be back very soon!

Mmmmm. The Mamacita's Chicken Enchilada crepe with homemade mole sauce is delicious. I've eaten it twice and I'd eat one right now if I could. They'll add jalapeños for you too. The sweet banana nutella crepes are also excellent and a kid favorite, especially with the homemade raspberry sauce on the side. Just ask for a squirt of it next to your crepe. The vibe is welcoming, usually with bob marley playing. Just good food in a place that has a nice energy. The hours are limited. Only Thurs-Sun 7am until 2pm right now. But I'm hoping they expand them soon. Great place! Nice staff. So glad they're here.

If I could give this place 10 stars I truly would. I visited their spot in the Logan Square farmer's market and honestly... life changing. Their sweet and savory options all sound so good and their options cater to everyone. They use local and fresh ingredients in their crepes too. Ryan who was making the crepes has awesome hair and is an extremely cool dude. Normally my expectation for quick service food spots is that the person behind the grill/stove/cooking object is sweating, tired, and just trying to put out all the orders. It makes sense because I can imagine it's HARD to be working in hot weather with a hot stove and tons of people constantly placing orders. But Ryan was energetic, smiling, and took the time to make conversation with my fiancé and I and introduce himself. He's a pro at making crepes too! We got the B K T, chicken florentine, and strawberry banana Nutella crepes. Each one was PHENOMENAL. Tastes so fresh, and they top each one with various sauces/toppings according to your preference. The fillings were generous, and the outsides of the crepes were crispy and perfect. Truly the best crepes I've ever had. I wish I had tipped them more but I will say I will ABSOLUTELY be back and will tell everyone about it! Thanks for a 10/5 experience!

I absolutely 100% loved this little family owned crepe restaurant! From arriving, the place is just so inviting and had a cozy feel with beautiful wooden tables and accents. Also, the owner Ryan is such a nice man and I enjoyed hearing about how they got started. He and his wife started working from home serving breakfast on their porch to working at farmers markets till they could get their own store. I love the drive! My friend and I had a wonderful breakfast. She got the banana and hazelnut and I got the O Cinnamon rolls. It was fun being able to see them whip up our crepes. Both were amazing and we were totally satisfied. Actually, mine was on the larger side so I ended up taking some of mine home for my kids to try. They loved too! Self serve coffee and tea are available with all reusable utensils including glass straws. Nice way to save the environment! I really loved the beautifully designed mugs to use. Also, they had delicious cucumber water too. I encourage you all to get there asap! I can't wait to come back and try something else out.

Grabbed a bite here for our last meal in Chicago and boy were we happy we did! The owner himself was cooking up the crepes and was extremely kind. We were blown away by the Huevos a la Mexicana and Strawberry banana crepes! One of my favorite breakfast spots in Illinois that has that local family touch. There's ample seating inside, but we opted for a nice wooden table outside because- why not on a beautiful Sunday morning?!

Gotta B Crepes is a great example of what a successful startup business is all about, in addition to the dedication, hard work, and patience it can take to get to the next stage. From Magic Pan to their front porch, to the Evanston Farmers Market to their very first official storefront space in Evanston, Ryan and Kathia made it happen. I recently had the pleasure of dining in their new space on Central and doing a little work from there as well. Here are some things to consider on your next visit... The space itself is warm and inviting with lots of natural light and plenty of custom seating (I'd say you can get around 60 people in there at a time). The decor is adorable! I was surprised at how busy these guys got around the lunch hour. I looked up from my computer and realized it was time to go. Since I was done eating, I didn't want to take tables away from other patrons. Not sure if they have free WiFi, but it was pretty slow. I wouldn't recommend coming in to do any work, unless you have patience. In truth, I didn't get any computer work done. I just couldn't get anything to load fast enough during my stay. These guys are pretty busy, and they may have the Internet set up that way to keep from people like me sitting for a long time (ha!). Perhaps a kink they are working out? On to the food. The ingredients are quality and locally-sourced and a real treat (though I personally couldn't afford to dine their daily on my budget). I was surprisingly REALLY full from what I did order, so the value factor is totally there. I had the Jake's Country Meats Ham & Cheddar crepe with an egg on top. The ham was deliciously thick and cut into large cubes. Co-owner Ryan, said this is one of his favorites...so take note if you're reading this ;-) Loaded with fresh greens and cheese, I opted for the sauces on the side. My dining partner ordered the Bigger Bacon Maple crepe cut into sushi style rolls. It had cheese, bacon, scrambled eggs, and local maple syrup in it. It was truly my favorite, because who doesn't love bacon and maple? We also tried a lemon crepe and cinnamon crepe (these were delivered to our table as an unexpected surprise :-) They were delicious! Complimentary cucumber water for the win. Excellent customer service, and everyone was working soooo hard! My only suggestion is to keep up with the bathrooms, because the paper towels filled up quickly :-) This is a business worth your support. I wish these guys the best!

Adorable and delicious crepe shop in Evanston! We tried a sweet crepe (banana Nutella) and a savory crepe (mamasita chicken enchilada). These were super delicious!! They were a little on the pricey side (8-13$) but they were packed full and very filling. The ingredients were delicious and the add ons they suggested (mushrooms and greens in the savory) were totally right on. We went in the afternoon, but I will definitely be returning for a breakfast and brunch spot.

I can probably count with one hand all the times I've had crepes. If you're like me and you don't eat crepes that often, Gotta B Crepes might just change that. They've been on my radar for some time because I've heard the story of how they got started and the following they've built from selling at different farmer's markets. I was lucky enough to check them out one sunny Friday morning. The restaurant had lots of windows so it contributed to the vibe of the place - bright, airy and cheerful! They have an open kitchen, and you can see their crepe makers lined up behind a glass partition. The crepes vary in taste, texture and shape. I was feeling indulgent so I went for the Bigger Bacon Maple. Not only was it the perfect combo of sweet and savory, but the preparation/plating was nothing I've experienced before. First, it was rolled up like a burrito then cut up into 7 pieces. It was "sushi style" per the menu. Pretty neat. I was also able to try Jake's Country Meats Ham & Cheddar and some of the sweet crepes. The ingredients tasted fresh (you can actually see some of them lined up on the counter). The savory crepes were a bit thicker than the sweet ones. Loved the consistency. They have homemade sauces that you can douse on the savory crepes - my fave was the mushroom sauce! I suggest sharing a couple of their sweet and savory options with your dining companion/s so you can get the best of both worlds. They have plenty of seating, and parking isn't too crazy. Some other perks include the complimentary cucumber water, bottomless custom-roasted coffee and bottomless hot tea. The staff was extremely friendly and their hot pink uniforms were a nice touch :)

Tables and benches made by one of the farmers and seasonal decorations give this space a home-like feel.

Such a great atmosphere to be in for breakfast or lunch! I came here around 8 a.m. and loved the warmness throughout the space. Nice decorations and even tables and benches made from one of the farmers adds a delightful touch! Crepe expert, Ryan, was helpful with the questions I had in regards to the menu. What was even better was the crepe-making process: they will cater towards your tastebuds and you can add (or remove) ingredients to your crepe. They'll ask you questions throughout the crepe-cooking which is amazing. Veggie Pesto Scramble was sizzlin' in flavor. Microgreens were on point and fresh and the mozzarella was crunchy on the sides, yum! Got to learn about where each ingredient came from and remember this: lots of love and hard work goes into each and every crepe because of the stellar ingredients. I got to try the sweet choice sweet crepe in lemon. Zesty and sweet make for a great combo. It is as simple as a crepe can be but sometimes simple is the best way to go. I'm itching to go back!

Let people mingle amongst themselves, try out different food, and enjoy the weather. Maybe you'd consider it a 'Taste of Evanston'. The location was decent - a short walk from the Metra and CTA stations in a big open park. Terrible in execution. Problem was there were only 3 food trucks, 2 of which actually served food (the other one served cupcakes) and a TON of people. My friend and I waited almost 1:15 minutes for our burger and fries. I don't even think I waited that long at The Shake Shack for a burger and fries. As we are waiting for our food, we hear from other festival patrons that the other food truck ran out of food and we saw it eventually pull away. Even if we wanted to try the other truck, we weren't able to. Don't get me wrong, the burger and fries were good (another review on that) but not worth the 1+ hour wait. I'd recommend to the Evanston Park District to ensure more trucks next year so we have shorter lines and maybe even encourage a 'sampler' type menu. You could easily invite another 4-5 trucks next year. In fact, while talking to my friend, I don't think I'd attend if a similar event had less than 7 trucks. This type of event has great potential if executed properly. You could really host a festival like this several times a year. It just takes a lot of coordination and ability of different trucks to show up and participate.

I have lived in this city my whole life but I have never once stopped in Humboldt Park. Yes I have…read moredriven past it and around it but today I drove through it and did I find some fun, cool and interesting places to eat. My second stop was at Papo's Taco Truck...he had a sign hanging out that said $1 Taco Tuesdays...deal of the day if you ask me. So we stopped by and I noticed that there location was not on Yelp yet, so I decided to add them. The first thing I noticed was how clean the truck was. I also noticed that they could tell I was not one of there regular customers. The staff inside of the truck was so friendly and nice. I love customer service and this location was so welcoming and inviting. We ordered a Relleno de papa...which reminded me of an Italian Riceball. It was a Potato ball that was deep fried and had meat inside of it. It was really good and was not greasy at all. Check out the picture...sorry for the bite but my wife could not resist before I was able to get the photo. She did sell me on the fact that the picture looks better if you can see the yummy meat inside. So I will give her that one. I also had a Sorrullo which was a sweet corn bread that was deep fried with cheese on the inside. I really liked it...it was like a desert and a meal all in one. One of the things I noticed was how clean this food truck was. In fact, the back door was open so you could see directly into the food truck. They have nothing to hide here just there good food. We also met a few customers who were sitting at a table just behind the truck enjoying some lunch. One of the patrons showed me his Jibarito Sandwich. It looked so good...it was grilled steak with grilled onions in between two fired plantains that acted as the bun for this amazing looking sandwich. He even let me take a picture of it...I really wanted a bite but that would have been too much to ask for after just meeting this nice guy. We then started talking food and after a while I found out that this customer was also the owner. He was such a nice guy and told me next time I come back I have to order the Jibarito...I said, "But it isnt on the menu!" And he told me, "Just ask for it!" I love that! It's like knowing the secret menu. I loved meeting the owner because he loves his food truck. He is also one of the newest food trucks in the park...only being here for a year. He first started out with Mexican food but has since also added Puerto Rica Food too. As we talked food we were able to meet another owner of the food truck down the street. He came over for some lunch...talk about respect between the food trucks in the park here. It is like one big happy family and they were so accepting of me and my wife. He also invited us down to his truck to eat but honestly I had no more room to put anymore food. I really feel like I stumbled on some hidden food truck mecca in the park. This truck also has a TV mounted on the back of the truck, so you can check out some TV while you are eating your food at the table. Now I went during the week and it was not that crowded but I heard that on the weekends it can get really crowded with all of baseball and soccer games going on in the park. I am proud to be the first person to find this food truck and add this location to Yelp. Being open for a year and not a single review on Yelp makes me so sad. I also encourage other Yelpers to check out all of these amazing food trucks in Humboldt Park. You can drive around and see all of them out or just stop at each one and start eating. I love Chicago...this new adventure makes me feel like I am in some foreign place...but I am so excited for a new found place to eat in Chicago. I am coming back for that Jibarito!!! And if you never seen one of these delicious and unique sandwiches, then check out my photo of it!!! YUM!!!
