We wanted our dogs to work on obedience and off-leash training. One of our dogs is a quick learner and the other is very treat-motivated. We understand that one week is not enough to perfect these tasks however, we expected the learning process to begin under the trainer's care and the owners would be recapped on what was taught in order to reinforce, and continue the training. However, after the entire week, we felt that there was not any training to "continue". The one training video we received was of our dogs learning "place" and "stay" - both commands that they already knew. Felix mentioned they walked around the park every day....was there any training here? Or was he just walking our dogs? Cause they walked the exact same way when we got them back. Additionally, we specifically mentioned training goals we wanted to be addressed. One was reactive towards larger dogs and the other was very sensitive to loud noises/busy streets. When asked if he worked on those concerns, Felix stated that he did not witness any of those behaviors at all - so it was not addressed. My question is - were they intentionally exposed enough to express those behaviors? (During our 1-on-1, we walked along the busy street and my dog instantly became skittish and started pulling away from the street...it was not difficult to witness and address the behavior.) Felix informed us that he was in the middle of a marketing restructuring and although the updated costs were higher, he was willing to accommodate the former pricing structure of $175/night/dog. We spent $2800 for a week of boarding & training for 2 dogs. I requested daily photos and updates and for the entire week, we only received 3 sporadic photo updates - all prompted by my request. I only received 1 actual report on Day 2 which stated that they did not do any training yet because our dogs have not adjusted to their new environment yet. Pick up and drop off were fine. However, the 1 hr recap session with us was scheduled a couple of days after drop off. Felix completely missed our appointment and didn't realize until we texted him 15 min into our scheduled appointment. We ended up meeting the next day. Felix could not specifically recall what commands/training they worked on during the one week with him. We did not see ANY differences in our dogs' behavior. While the one-hour session was okay, it does not make up for the one-week training we were promised. As a gesture for completely missing our originally scheduled appt, he offered an extra free lesson where we can work on off-leash walking using e-collars. It has been a month since we scheduled the makeup lesson. He canceled and rescheduled twice. I texted him 2 times to see when we can reschedule this makeup appointment and have not received any response. At this point, I think it's safe to say we have been ghosted by Felix since Oct 2, 2023. It is distasteful when you offer something to make up for your mistake and then never follow through with it. Overall - I would NOT recommend Felix's board and train. He seems very disorganized and scattered with many commitments all over the Bay Area. Unless you are doing a 1-on-1 where you have his full attention, I would not trust he's allotting the appropriate time and training for your pup. Avoid the costly mistake that we made with Board + Train. The only good things that came out of this experience were that (1) my dogs came back safe and healthy, and (2) the one-hour 1-on-1 session went well.

We all had different ways of how to train him and it was causing a rift in the family. I was turned down by some trainers until I came across Jonathan Wong's page. He was local, he was fast to get back to me and he was willing to give us a chance after everything I told him. Kody still has a long way to go and I will continue with Jonathan as his trainer, but it is night and day after three months of training with Jonathan. He was dog and people aggressive, to the point we had to avoid them entirely. We can now go for walks, albeit we move opposite of any dog and can keep walking without any barking or pulling. He was always actively pulling on the leash and bad at recall. He is loose leashed now and responds with recall with our daughter. In the end I had to get use to the idea that Kody was a crate or muzzle dog when it came to large crowds or people in our home. I felt awful but Jonathan was so supportive and positive as I came to terms with it. I hope as we continue to train with Jonathan and Kody builds his confidence that soon things might change for him. Jonathan has such a kind soul and so encouraging when it comes to both us and Kody. I cannot thank Jonathan enough for what he has done for us. He left solid foundations for us to grow on. Kody is such a sweet and smart boy, and we always want the best for him. Jonathan truly is the best.

I've had seven dogs in my lifetime and had never experienced anything like this before. Cavaliers are known for being loving, gentle dogs, so having an 11-pound puppy that I felt nervous around was heartbreaking. I truly wasn't sure Olivia and I would ever have a good relationship again. I was scheduled to travel to Mexico over Christmas but couldn't take her due to her behavior. Brad went above and beyond -- he kindly arranged to pick her up the very night I left on a red-eye flight and enrolled her in a 4-week board-and-train bootcamp. Yes, the program is an investment, but it is absolutely worth every penny. Brad and Camille worked their magic. Olivia came back a completely different puppy -- loving, responsive, and happy. It honestly feels like night and day. I know I still need to do my homework and stay consistent, but just one week after her return, the transformation has been incredible. One thing I really appreciate is the ongoing support. Brad offers unlimited texts and calls for questions and guidance, which has been invaluable as we continue reinforcing her training at home. This also wasn't my first experience with Brad. He was recommended to us years ago when we got our older dog, a yellow Labrador named Bourbon. While Bourbon has always been mellow, Brad helped us with practical training -- including teaching him to jump into my sedan in less than 10 minutes! That stuck with me and is why I trusted him when we needed serious help with Olivia. Brad once told me that good training makes dogs happier, and now I truly understand what he meant. Olivia is more confident, more relaxed, and clearly happier -- and so am I. I wholeheartedly recommend Brad to anyone dealing with behavioral issues or simply looking for solid obedience training. Every now and again Brad's facility will take in rescue dogs who will undergo the full board and train program. I was lucky enough to be able to adopt Tarkin, a a cattle dog mix. I believe he had been under the care of Brad and his team for almost (maybe more?) a year but did not have much like in finding a potential adopter until I saw a post on Instagram and reached out. Right off the bat, Tarkin was very well behaved, knew the basic commands (sit, down-stay, leave it, wait, place, etc). Brad even provided a collar to continue with his training, was responsive via text MONTHS after adoption, and would always offer to come by for a follow-up training session. Fortunately, we have not needed an in-person session, but to be able to continue having him as resource by phone has been amazing and I am so grateful. Brad and Camille (Tarkin's other main trainer) have created such a wonderful foundation of training that I've been able to build off of, even as a new dog owner. Given my experience with Tarkin, I would highly recommend reaching out to Brad and his team about potential rescues available for adoption, or to see what training packages they have to offer.
