I gave this place several more try's and have been impressed with the selection of cheeses and wine. I'm still not crazy about the sandwiches they are still hit or miss. But I'm a regular now and really enjoy the staff. read more

My friend and I ate at Gourmage on Tuesday, May 16. She ordered the mac and cheese and I got the chicken salad on a croissant. While both were very good ( I tasted mr friend's), they were not equal in portion. The mac and cheese was generous while my chicken salad was one small ice cream scoop size on a very small croissant with a normal size serving of chips. I had a water with my sandwich and the total was over $8. At the end of our meal I ordered some of their vanilla bean ice cream the waitress said they are famous for. It came in a small container that was less than 1/2 cup and I'd give a 6/10 rating. I should have asked the price before hand . . $3.75! Although the cafe itself was cute, we probably would not go back because we both felt is was overpriced for what you got. Too bad. read more

Had lunch last Thursday here. Beef sandwich open with Swiss cheese and dipping sauce. Dipping sauce had little flavor. It would be nice if they could make a richer sauce. That's why I can only give three stars. read more

Absolutely one of the best cheese shops I have ever been to in the US. So spoiled to have this in New Braunfels

A great little find. It's not a true restaurant in terms, so as long as expectations are tempered from that standpoint, you shouldn't be disappointed. The grilled Havarti, with or without strawberry balsamic jam, is fantastic. There are also flavored salts, different cheese, and a variety of unique chocolate truffles, and interesting flavored ice creams. Goat cheese ice cream? Ok...it's worth a shot! read more

I went to Gourmage two weeks ago & was so excited to find this shop & to come back. However, after my experience yesterday, I will never do so. The shop itself is very cute, with a small selection of wines, cheeses & chocolates & should be very inviting. The sales clerk who worked the 7/7/18 evening shift, was extremely unwelcoming, stand-offish & disinterested. This lady had no interest in explaining the products even after we asked questions, her answers were short one word answers. My husband and I both felt this way & couldn't wait to get out of the store. It is very disappointing as I said before, I was so excited to go back. However, this one experience alone will prevent me from returning. read more

Great artisan cheese plate, chocolate, coffee, and tuna salad. Great service and music

The chocolate truffles are amazing...you can tell they are artfully prepared; my faves are the sea salt caramel truffle, the champagne truffle, and the creme brulle truffle. They also have made-from-scratch ice creams with lots of fun flavors (the vanilla bean is good, too!). I've seen goat cheese ice cream (a nice surpirse) as well as, triple chocolate, and several flavors made with local brews. They also have the most impressive selection fo cheeses in New Braunfels and the employees are always so knowledgable about ALL of their products. I love Gourmage!! read more

Stephanie (the owner) and Lisa (the lead chef) have an incredible gift for sharing international treats with a feeling you are visiting with great friends rather than shopping or dining. The simple, yet sophisticated menu leaves you with a difficult choice because everything is fantastic. The menu is frequently updated, so It's best to visit often. After enjoying one of Lindsey's (also a chef) freshly made marshmallows for dessert, you can visit with Jen (the cheese expert) for international cheeses so incredible you just have to try them - and you can. Just before you end your visit, make sure you also visit with Meagan and Rhonda (the hostesses) for some handmade chocolate treats that are so good they'll leave you speechless with a big smile on your face. During my last visit, Stephanie mentioned they would soon be adding a wine selection to complement the cheeses.
