The vibes are key at this place. I almost felt like I should wear fancier clothing as they play jazz and have very nice furniture to sit on with dim ambiance. The staff was kind and created a great charcuterie board for my lovely and I.

I absolutely love coming here during their happy hours to grab a quick bite and a glass of wine! The ladies who run this place are so warm and friendly and the overall place is very inviting. I would definitely recommend if you're in the area or even looking for a new place to check out Gourmage!

We were gifted a cheese making class. It was such an experience for a foodie like me. Stephanie was so sweet and informative and walked us through the process. We each made 5 four ounce servings. It was a good amount of cheese for us each to take home. After we walked to the farmers market to get fresh basil. I would highly recommend this class!!

How did I not know this was in New Braunfels? Very nice, relaxing stop for a nice glass of wine and an assortment of delicious cheese.

Lovely wine, cheese, and chocolate shop in New Braunfels. Lovely decor and space to sit back and enjoy the yummy selections inside the store. Perfect for a wine tasting or snack while out shopping in town. The owner was sweet and gave recommendations for cheese pairings and let us sample the cheeses before we bought them. I would come here again with some friends to hang out.

Gourmage is a Parisian inspired cheese shop and lunch spot nestled in the historic downtown center of New Braunfels. The place is full of wine knick-knacks and gear like pouters, chiller sticks, glassware etc. You naturally can also grab from some choices of wine by the glass or bottle. The employees literally couldn't be nicer if they tried. They love wine and cheese and all the joy that they bring. When asked about the three cheese samples they had out they replied with pure glee. Stating such descriptors as, "amazing" "delicious" "it even looks beautiful!" Their cheese of the week was marked at 20% off, might be a regular thing which is cool. It was a Murcia al Vino. A deep purple wine soaked exterior that as the employee put it, "fades to a wonderful snowy white when you get to the center." While here I grabbed a grilled cheese since they just won the Best of the Wurst award for their grilled cheese. It was quite adorable at $6.75 for a sandwich and chips. I selected the havarti with rosemary ham. It was a little thinner of a sandwich than I'm used to by Texas standards but the cheese was a plenty and filling so I left quite happy. Other choices were Manchester with prosciutto and fig and even a special jalapeño popper inspired grilled cheese. If you're looking for a lovely quick and delicious lunch spot while in New Braunfels then look no further. Grab some cheese for the road while you're here.

Absolute gem. If you're lucky enough to find yourself in Gourmage you won't be disappointed. Stephanie the owner is professional and kind. It's a cozy spot to split a bottle, or grab a glass of wine before dinner out. They also have cheese/meat plates, and delicious chocolate treats. Wednesday's they have a wine and cheese pairing which is always thoughtfully selected. Happy hour daily from 3-6. This has become my new favorite spot.

Gourmage is a charming little wine (very respectable selection; sold by glass in store or bottle to go) and cheese shop located on the main street (actually San Antonio St.) through New Braunfels. They have a variety of imported and U.S. cheeses (sometimes the selection is better than others; depends on when they receive shipment). They also make in-house mozzarella! All of the staff are super nice and very willing to give you a sample of anything you might be considering. Their offerings range the gamut from triple creams to bleus to aged and everything in between. One of the main reasons I usually stop in is because they carry one of the best aged goudas I have had outside of the Netherlands. Since the Pittag is so good, and that I don't get to visit very often, I usually buy every last ounce! Cheese head here for sure! The prices per lb at Gourmage are comparable to other shops I've been to, and I would state they are even a little more reasonable than some. Gourmage offers several other gourmet goodies including dips, jams, coffee, tea, olives, and more. Their inventory changes frequently. I would be remiss not to mention the large selection of chocolates they also case, including some beautiful artisan truffles. And, never a moment to be bored for the shopaholics out there (looking at mirror). They carry the most delightful and fun tea towels, wine accessories, and such. There are a few tables in the tiny shop where you may sit and enjoy wine or other beverage of choice AND from 11-2:30 Monday through Friday they serve "light lunch" items - usually a special of the day. Grilled cheese? Why, of course. Salads, soups...and one time they were kind enough to pack me up some Bleu Cheese Man n' Cheese to take home even they don't really have containers for such. Above and beyond customer service. When we're in NB, I always tell my husband "I'm just going to run in and grab some cheese and a truffle for you." Inevitably, about 30 minutes and at least $40 later, I walk out with a variety of items. Seeded bee honey, anyone? ;) I had to try it, right? Cheers!

They also carry a number of jarred items (honey, molasses, pickles, jams, sauces) as well as locally raised meats and I enjoyed going aisle by aisle looking my through their inventory I was also happy to see that they carry a number of gluten free items, including flour and pastas that I'm able to find at my local grocery store. I also loved that they have fresh baked breads and desserts, as well as sandwiches to order to go (didn't try any on this visit, but they looked excellent online!). I did pick up a bit of their jalapeño beef jerky which wasn't super tough like jerky sometimes is and also was super salty, which was appreciated. The staff seemed friendly and ready to help. Across from the store is a bbq spot with seating and I'll be sure to visit there on my next visit. The ONLY reason why I couldn't give a 5-star review this time is I had a very hard time finding the prices on a number of items (especially in their freezer/refrigerated sections). It made it a bit inconvenient and I didn't want to keep going up to the counter to check the costs each time. Other than that, I'd highly recommend a visit!
