I frequent the Renton Gourmet Latte stand. They are slow, but it was on my way. This morning I waited behind several cars only to find that they had no decaf espresso. Because I waited so long in the line, I could not go anywhere else. I would have appreciated notification at the beginning of the line. I won't be going back. I've been enjoying their specialty lattes on this visit. They also good iced teas. The barista was super friendly and patient with my "what is a cloud 9"? question today. She was also the only person working with one walk up customer and three cars in line behind us waiting. She was calm and nice, and never showed she was stressed out. She even took the time to go find the protein pucks available and read off what flavor they were. Service with a smile. We're buying a rental property near this place, and for placing ads for vacancies I was gathering driving and walking times to nearby points of interest. I wanted to include a coffee shop in the list, and since there were a few to choose from I looked at yelp reviews to pick the best. This one really stood out--so much so that when my wife and I finished our final walkthrough of the property this afternoon before closing the sale early next week, I suggested we try this place. Boy am I glad we did! That was bar none the best mocha frappe I have ever had anywhere. Instant top favorite. It was both better-tasting and smoother than a Starbucks Frappacino, in both cases by a significant margin. I regret only that I have but 5 stars to give in this review to this amazing coffee shop. Other reviews mentioned how friendly the staff are. I concur. They made it a very pleasant experience, totally aside from how great the coffee itself was. We live about 10-20 minutes away depending on traffic. I'm pretty sure from now on when I get a mocha frappacino, I will seriously think about traffic and travel time to get to this place instead of the Starbucks near our home. Hey Gourmet Latte owners--how about a new branch in the Newport Hills neighborhood of Bellevue? Or Newcastle? Or Factoria? I have no doubt you'd get a LOT of business! MY GO TO STOP EVERY MORNING. I come to this stand at least 5 days out of the week and it's the highlight of my morning. Not only do I get the most perfect cup of ice coffee but I always get to see such pretty and sweet faces. All the girls are so amazing but Adrianne and Slyvie always take good care of me. Luckily when they're not in, the rest of the girls make my coffee JUST as amazing and usually that's rare for any coffee stand. If you haven't been here yet, go. Really good coffee, efficiently served in a spacious, clean, modern drive through, just off south-bound 405, exit 4. Great for folks working at Boeing, looking for a change from generic Starbucks mediocrity, eastside shoppers headed to Southcenter Mall (ok, call it "Westfield" if you want...but do you know, that's how locals can tell you're not from around here) and IKEA. It's super easy to pop back on the highway and get on with the day. The missing star? Well, if you drink whole milk and ask for it, you'll get that funky mix of 2% and half-and-half that never seems to work. Best just get the breve. Until folks wake up to the reality that milk fat is the bit about milk that's actually good for you, it's a reality we'll have to live with. Just as it will be a fine day when our schools are completely funded, and we will have to hold bake sales to buy fighter jets, so will it be a fine day when coffee stands stock whole milk as standard, and they have to pull out a jug of watery skim milk and add a splash of whole milk for some joker who thinks 2% milk is anything but a marketing ploy, brought to you by the same jokers that put carbohydrates at the base of the food pyramid, and turned heart disease and diabetes into billion-dollar industries. Sure it's an overstatement. But I stand by it. Getting real whole (and dare I say grass fed) milk at your coffee stand as a matter of course instead of dubiously-sourced Franken-milk will be a heralding sign, a crocus through the snow, telling us better things are indeed ahead. Huge overstatement. I know. I'll own it. But I, of course, digress. Get coffee here, if you're in the hood. I recommend the espresso shake, which is just decadent and lovely. The dark chocolate is Dilettante, and makes a great mocha breve. Drip is good too, and their cold brew is excellent. Rock on. read more

I'm the type of person who over tips as I've been in this type of industry previously but the customer service is not good and the coffee is good depending on who makes it . Ok. So I have been coming here since they took this stand over. It was fantastic but over the last couple of months they have had a turnover in staff. It is pretty apparent that there must have been a change in management because the folks they are putting in the stands are the "B" team. It is getting old really quick having to repeat an order three or four times. It used to be the people there knew my order and had it waiting. It was quick in and out. Now...it is an ordeal and exercise in frustration. ***Update*** The morning crew has gotten better. I don't see the B team any more. Overall service has gotten better. Now all they need is Wawa Cakes mini quiches and we would be all set. read more

The service at this place is VERY slow even when it's not busy. The 3-4 times I've gone, it's taken about 10 minutes to get one drink made. Sometimes also waiting in line for about 15 mins, when there's only one car in front and multiple people working and no one at the window. read more

I hope they stick around! The turnover of this location is crazy. This used to be a cowgirls owned stand and then before that I can't even remember! When I saw that the ownership had changed yet again, I was a little hesitant to try it out. I finally did and now I come here almost every morning! I love the girls! They are all SO SO sweet and I love that they remember me and what I order. Don't get discouraged by the line, as they are really quick at getting your order out! Also, I love their vast selection of goodies and they offer healthy options too like their protein pucks! I wouldn't recommend their breakfast burrito but I have had their Canadian bacon sandwich. I wish they had better packaging though, as the aluminum foil ruins the sandwich honestly. By the time I get to work to eat it, the croissant part is all smushed and soggy. :( There are 3 other stands within the radius not even counting sbux. Came here for the first time the other day and ordered a simple, plain latte because I wasn't feeling like making one for myself at home. Waste of money. I've had my fair share of lattes and this one was pretty much tasteless, and lacked the richness that most lattes do - almost like it was made with skim milk or something -- that I did not request. Yuck. To top it off, I just looked at my credit card statement and noticed that I was charged 35 cents extra than the amount I "signed" for on the small clipboard. Do they automatically do that for smaller transactions? (which is actually illegal!). I did NOT sign for this amount and was NOT notified otherwise that there would be any type of added fee. I am so disappointed, never thought I'd be giving a gourmet latte stand so low stars. So are 3 other people I have gone here with. They have an employee who is the worst barista we have ever come across. Myself and few others have experienced her horrible coffee making, and customer service, every single time any of us have gone, so its not a one off situation. I don't even know her name. Dark hair with glasses,(she's there this morning) but she always makes the drinks wrong, has made the wrong sizes, always forgets an item ordered, and never apologizes. The other girl working there always has to fix her mistakes and apologize. She is extremely forgetful, so either she gives 0 fs, or is on something, I don't know. We have been going to these stands in bothell and around for a few years now, and she's the person at this stand that constantly makes mistakes. Sorry girl, but this job isn't for you, or maybe you need more training. Its at a point where we avoid coming by unless its the only choice hoping she's not working but she's.always.there. I hope they figure it out, because otherwise the coffee stand is fantastic, and it sucks it got to point where one of us had to write this review. read more

I switch to this coffee stand, as I was going to Big Foot Java near by. While, Big Foot Java girls are amazing, they are unfortunately extremely slow. I will say that I do love the the coffee here, the service is fast, and the girls are very nice. However, I experienced an issue here and will not be giving this place my business anymore. While getting my coffee one Friday, they had promotion that one of the girls recommended. You buy a $30 gift card an you get a free drink loaded to your card. Well that's awesome, so I bought it. Than I proceeded the following Friday to buy another one, I figured I will be coming here, this will be easy to use when paying and you get a free drink. I had a total of two gift cards and one reward card. I wanted to get all of it on one card. I had them do that and the gal insured me she had combined the three cards into one card. That means I had on my card $60, two free drinks and all my rewards points I have incurred from previous visits. At my next visit, I handed her my card to pay and she asked to pay, I said I have $60 on that card, as well as two free drinks why are you asking for payment. She said no there is no money on this card, and nor any free drinks. I was shocked. I informed her of the situation. She said I will inform my manager, she is on vacation in Hawaii right now and will be back tomorrow and she will contact you once she gets back. She took down my name and phone number. A week went by and I was not contacted, I went back to the stand. A different gal was there, I explained to her the situation, she texted the manager while I was there and she informed me the manager will contact me. Again, she took my name and phone number again. Another week went by, this time I tried to call the phone number listed for this stand and it was not in service. I noticed an email was available, so I emailed my situation. Another week went by, and have not been contacted. I went to the stand again, she texted her manager while I was there. I explained that I am also a manager. I stated as a manager you have to handle issues that arise and you can not ignore patrons. $60 is a lot of money for a business to take away from patron. The gal understood and kept apologizing. The manger texted the gal back, she wanted my reward card number and she stated she will have to look back at all the transactions history and send this to corporate for them to look at. The gal took down my reward card number, name and phone number. Another week went by without being contacted. I went to the stand again, I explained the situation again to another new gal, she said I have heard about your situation and I will inform the manager you came by and to contact you. I was pretty upset this time, I explained that no one should be treated this way, and how this manager will not contact me. I asked when does this manager work, so I can come down and discuss this situation. She just kept saying she understands, she apologizes, she will have the manger contact me, she started to close the window. I was appalled by all this. In the end, this has not been resolved, they have stolen $60 of my money, taken my two free drinks away, deleted all my reward points that I acquired and this "MANAGER" has yet to contact me. I not recommend this stand, but if you go just do not purchase any gift card promotions. Beyond disappointed! read more

My only complaint is that the same specialty drink will cost different amounts depending on what time of day and what server rings me up. I stopped going to the Ballard one because of the ongoing impersonal and on more occasions than not rudeness of the employees.
